~*~The OFFICIAL 2014 Dates Thread - Come Join Us!~*~

I'm having such a hard time keeping up with the Dis!! I feel like I'm missing so much. I've cleaned everything up, and have two TRs to catch up on... Someone else's and my PTR!! However, my Jan 2014 trip ADR window opens in 7 days...... :D

Breakfast - Chef Mickey
CRT (a must)
Kona

Dinner - Flying Fish
Jiko
Whispering Canyon Cafe
Via Napoli
1900 Park Fare

Lunch - 50s PTC
Yak & Yeti

Just a few ideas, and part of me wants to try for BOG again..... ;)

Taking all suggestions!! We are trying to get a fun mix between grown up meals and fun.... Plus we will have photopass plus again :D

My kids have a new favorite: Sci Fi Dine In at Hollywood Studios. We ate there for the first time in May and it was great! They loved eating in the "car" and watching B movies. The food was good! We went at lunch time and it was such fun! It's a must-do for our next trip.

I really want to try this as well, but I have a 2 & 4 year old.... We kinda use the TS meals for DH and I to unwind together.... I don't think the car set up would work for us :( it's on my list for when my 2 year old is more manageable.... How many can you fit in the car? It might be an idea for my Dec trip with extended family!

They have two types of cars. They have the kind where you seat four. Two in front and two in back. And they have the kind that seat six. Three side by side on each "side" and the table in between (that's the set up we had)

Btw. If your little ones are into Disney Jr you can't beat Hollywood & Vine! That's a favorite of ours too! :)

Breakfast:
Tusker House - Great selection for the grown ups. Great character interaction for the little ones.

Lunch:
Tutto Italia - Some pretty good Italian entrees and really good appetizers (BDLsgal RAVES about the tiramasu for dessert). Plus the entertainment in the plaza is fun to watch while you wait to be seated

Dinner:
(If planning for the kids)
Garden Grille - Has characters and has all-you-can-eat family style of more higher end meats and sides. Plus it revolves and you get to see the ride The Land

(If planning for quality dinner)
Boatwrights (POR) - Hidden gem. Real quality food. And, if you are planning for an early dinner or a late dinner, you may be able to catch some of the Yee Haw Bob show in the lounge. Bonus: If you want, you can take the complimentary water taxi to DTD.

Hmmm may be an option! I am waiting to see the potential line up change for H&V :) Currently the line up wouldn't be super interesting to the kiddos....

Tusker House & Garden Grille are slated for our next trip. I haven't gone to the Garden Grille since 04 and it wasn't a character meal then... Plus farmer Mickey!!! This one may more for me!!!

Tutto Italia.... You preferred this over Via Napoli right? If you did can I ask why?

Hmm Boatrights is a good idea - I used to get a brownie sundae there that was sooo wonderful! And a potential carriage ride.... Hmmm!! Again one I haven't been too in ages! I think the last time I was at the resort it was Dixie Landings!

I like the menu otions better at TI, more so than VN. I know, that seems to be the minority on Disboards, but that's just my humble opinion.

And if you do Boatwrights, you'll have to open with the crawfish bites and close with the sponge cake bananas foster.

Officially booked for Jan 18-25

Promised my daughter a trip to Disney if she finished the year with a straight A average, and she delivered :thumbsup2
Now it's Dad's turn to deliver her 3 nights in a AKL Kidani Villa and 4 nights in a Beach Club Villa for 7 full days of Disney bliss! :dancer:
Thanks to Dave's DVC Rentals for making it as affordable as a moderate resort stay :thanks:

See y'all for drinks by the firepit! :bitelip:

Doing a happy dance today!:cool1::cool1:

Just made our deposit for a LM room at AOA for June 21 - 28!

It will be DS's :earboy2: first trip... he will be 20 months at the time.

We will also be celebrating DD's :earsgirl: 8th birthday!

Hmm something to look at- I really want to go to one of them... Wine... Cheese.... Italian delights.....

Does Boatwrights have the brownie sundae anymore? But bananas foster mmmm... I'm getting hungry over here!!

I am coming to DL for Tink in January too! It will be my first DL trip. We will be staying at the GCH from 1/16-1/20. Looks like we are on the same path this year (minus Feb for me!). Are you running Tink and Princess for the special C2C?

Sent from my iPhone using DISBoards

I seriously thought about it. But, with the trip in Feb, being DBF's first trip, I didnt want to put it off a few weeks just so we could go out there an run. I think (personal opinion), for his first trip we should just really focus on exploring the parks. I know that when I went out for W&D, that was the formost thing in my head and not just enjoying the parks. Plus his first 1/2 is Tink, so I dont know if he would have wanted to run another one so close. :rotfl:

GCH is stunning! I am jealous. Since we live down here, I have not stayed there.

Could you change us to Nov 6 - 12 2014 please? The very sudden surprise that we'll be getting married right before we go changed our timeline a bit, (NOT that I'm complaining!)

We loved breakfast at Tusker House! Much more than CM's and you get to see Daisy - we always have a hard tome finding her in the parks!

:wave2: We are planning on going in Feb over break to celebrate DD's 12th birthday!!! Not sure on dates yet for sure. Feb14-23 or so. Probably staying at AOA but that might change depending on any discounts that may or may not be released. I can't wait. It has been too long since our last disney fix!! :hyper:

My September trip fell through but I want to swing a short solo trip sometime next year. Maybe in late January, especially if they offer 20% off my room. I can do my eating pretty cheap, it just means less TS :(

So sorry you're having to cancel your trip next year.

You don't have to leave the group, though ... stick around and keep us updated on the possibility of that solo trip in January. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it happens for you. pixiedust:
