Thanks, it's put my mind a little bit at ease. I'm just finding myself stressing out about everything right now that I've almost talked myself out of going. I have a lot of health issues and so it makes things difficult everywhere I go. I just hope Disney will help if there ends up being a problem.
I know I wouldn't be stressing as much but our last trip (not Disney) 6 years ago was a nightmare. We were stuck in a smoking room at first (even though I requested non due to health reasons, told that wouldn't be a problem) and then they didn't want to accomodate us. Finally they found us a room but it wasn't much better and it was moldy smelling so I woke up the next day really sick and we couldn't do much. This was an expensive hotel too so I didn't expect to be treated the way I was. I felt I ruined the trip for my husband and I just don't want that to happen again.

Try not to worry, go and have a great time. To let you know, the few times I needed to get things fixed, changed, etc., housekeeping and maintenance were there within 1/2 hour. In fact, I have always felt they went well beyond to make things pleasant for us. :)

Good luck!!!

Do just the woodsview have connecting rooms?
Thanks,

Saw this and was curious about the answer for standard rooms. Are there connecting standard rooms?

We have two rooms booked for 7/07. I forgot to mention that I wanted connecting rooms to CRO; I guess I'll need to call back and add that to the ressie. Just as a double check, I need to request connecting rather than adjoining? Correct? I remember seeing a few threads indicating that they are different in Disney-speak.

TIA!

We were there last month and our courtyard room, 3015, had a door connecting with 3017.

What is the status of the room renovations? Is it complete or should I request a new room when I go down next week?

I have just switched our reservations and upgraded to WL...I will be reading through all of this as soon as I can...but in the meantime, I have a Courtyard View, does anyone have any suggestions on recommendations on room requests for this type of view? TIA

We were there in June and had 2 standard rooms on the north wing. I had requested connecting rooms and was told that there were no standard rooms that connected. Our two rooms were right next to each other, but did not have a connecting door.

So..I guess the answer is that there are no connecting standard rooms.

You do want to make sure that they "connect" your reservations so that your two standard rooms are next to each other. Also, I called 2 or 3 different times before our trip and on my last call about 2 weeks before our trip to confirm our requests....I was told that our 2 room reservations had not been connected completely (?) so it was a good thing that I called. I hope this makes sense. Sorry if it sounds confusing.

Hello :wave2:

Connecting means rooms next to one another with an inside door that connects the two rooms.

Adjoining means rooms will be next to or close to one another.

Call CRO and ask that the two reservations be "linked" together. Give them the other party's name and confirmation number. We just did this with my brother's family at CSR and we had no problem what so ever. We had two rooms that were connected. It was so much fun!!

Also, what might help, give them a reason why you need the rooms connected (parents in one room, children in other room; need to help baby/child sit).

Hope this helps. :)

I apologize if someone has mentioned this before, but is everyone aware of the DIS thread on Disney music? You can download the WL area music (as well as a bunch of other stuff) for free. It's about 55 minutes long. I did the download and my more tech-savvy DD burned a CD for me that I've been listening to in the car. Really puts me in that WL frame of mind! If you haven't checked out this thread yet, I highly recommend it. :goodvibes

I just upgrade my standard view room to concierge level today. Anyone know of anything special I should know?? This will be our first stay at WL. Only 2 more weeks to go!!!! :cheer2:

I just switched from Poly GVC to Courtyard view. I did not know what to request for the location.

Now that I have read a HUGE portion of this thread and looked at tons of pictures, I might be more confused than when I started :(

I would love a view of the pool and the lake. Would that mean that I should request...

nonsmoking
innercourtyard view
high floor

Or should I be more specific? I would like to be close to the MK boat. So does that mean the Northside?

Thank you in advance for all your help! I can't wait to fall in love with the WL like so many of you have!

I would ask for this:

NonSmoking
NorthWing
Inner CourtYard
Higher Floor

Hope this helps.

As I sit at my desk at work listening to the WL Music Track, I'm thinking of all of you and wishing you a MAGICAL AND PIXIE DUST filled vacation. :wizard:

Enjoy!! And remember soak up all the wonderful magic the WL gives you. :)

I'd looked 2 months ago & couldn't get any standard rooms for May '07...and then, just looking randomly yesterday, *poof*, one came available. I couldn't get my BIL on the phone to confirm he'll be able to attend, though, so I am hoping [can any Vets answer this?] that I'll be able to modify my reservation to add a person to the room along with his ticket/dining package. It was too good to pass up!

Thank you! I will be calling back to add this when the smoke clears at CRO after this sale.

I'm confused. I thought north wing was best if you had a woods view room and south was best for courtyard? Can someone tell me the difference between the north and south courtyard views?

There isn't much difference between the north and south wing for inner courtyard view. They both face the main pool. The only reason I would prefer northwing is because it is much closer to Roaring Forks.

Tardin is right. Threre isn't much difference. NorthWing is closer to Roaring Forks and the boat ramp. KrisTX had asked to be close to the boat ramp.

Also, you can get to see some beautiful sun rises. I took some really nice pictures the last time we were there. :)

My Wise Friends,

I have a quick question:

I will be staying at the WL for the first time 9/9-14/06, and got a super deal through WDW Travel by asking them to match a sale I found on Expedia. The thing is...I bought the basic Standard room, and am worried about just what I'll see out my balcony window.

Any suggestions as to what I should say in my fax request? I've had terrific luck with stays at POFQ and CBR with this method, but don't have much of a clue what to ask for at WL, or if I should pot luck it, and then ask for an upgrade when I check in. Since the second week of September should be relatively low in attendance at the parks, can I assume that occupany rates at WL will be low as well - and that there might be a good inventory for the CM at the desk to choose from? Or is WL so popular that I should stick with the fax request?

Thanks, and sorry to be so anal about this.

Alison
