Rich, do you by chance know which manager you spoke to? I just called, and they are not budging on the 1-night cancellation fee for me. Even after I told them what they did for you :) I kind of didn't expect them to, but wow, it would be nice not to have to pay it!

Now that I'm reading people's posts, I hope I'm not being charged a fee. He led me to believe there would not be a penalty. At this point I don't want to give any names, in case someone did something they weren't supposed too. I will be watching for my refund. I'm sorry. :sad1: PLEASE UNDERSTAND FROM MY PERPECTIVE.

EDIT TO ADD: My full refund hit my statement today...I'm happy, I'm sorry though, I don't want to cause problems for the guy if he went above and beyond, and did something he wasn't suppossed to do. I'm not a mean person, but I don't want to ruffle feathers, PLEASE UNDERSTAND.......I guess I got very lucky!

I'm not one of the people involved w/ trying to change to that deal/rate, but I'm sure no one holds anything against you. Don't worry about it -- sounds like you got lucky and I'm sure everyone is happy for you even if it didn't work out for them. :goodvibes

My DH and I are getting so excited about our upcoming trip -- we're actually keeping the hotel a surprise from the kids. My older DS wants to stay at POFQ again, but I've just told him that I can't find any rooms for the dates we're going, but we'll more than likely stay at POR. He is so enthralled by the looks of the S/D, that he'll be super excited when I announce when we get there that that's where we'll be staying!

I was showing my DH the personal pantry form and we were wondering if anyone knows how/why the stuff is practically cheaper than you'd pay at the store for it?! A pack of Bud for $6.00? That's fantastic.

Sounds like a bunch of you are leaving in the next few days. I think there were a few of us w/ overlapping dates in June. Who will be there 6/10 - 6/18?

Hey Music City Mama, count me in as one of the overlappers :thumbsup2. We are their from 6/15 - 6/22.

Even with our grocery stop we will also take advantage of the personal pantry. I think the beer is definitely the best deal on it. If alcohol is allowed at the pool area I may even have to bring one down a few times. Don't usually do that type of thing, but it's so much cheaper that way. :confused3

No problem, Rich! I understand :) Lucky you!!

We just got back and wanted to step in and say how much we loved the Swan! :lovestruc

Loved the pool, the restaurants, the rooms, the close proximity of Epcot & HS. Got spoiled by the boats! Loved walking to BW and hanging out. We wanted for nothing there.

Absolutely LOVED every minute and we can't wait to go back.

Anyone getting ready to go: have a FABULOUS time! :wizard:

I loved the personal pantry option. We actually made 2 orders during our stay and it was great having cold sodas and snacks to pick on at night or even having some oreos in the morning! They had Cape Cod potato chips which I loved! Not sure why it's cheaper but it is a great deal!

No hard feelings Rich! I am sure as I am, everyone is happy you were able to take advantage of a better deal! Great for you--see? You don't need to stay at one of the "official" Disney resorts to get some pixiedust:

Does anyone know if they except Disney Gift Cards at the Swan/Dolphin in the restaurants or shops?

They accept the Disney Gift Cards only at the gift shops (which apparently are run by Disney) but not at the restaurants at Swan and Dolphin.

Maybe we'll run into each other! I'm sure I'll be able to pick you out. ;) I know what you mean about bringing a beer down to the pool -- might have to do that myself.

So, how do you place the order? Do you just leave it in your room or bring it down to the front desk or what? Also, if I recall, on the form it just says: 6-pack of soda (or "individual cereal boxes") -- can you specify what you want?

Thank you for your review & glad you had a great time!

There was a good question in a prior post, where do you place an order for the personal pantry thing:confused3

I remember last year some of you getting a great rate in September. I need a couple of nights at the Dolphin before our 6 night Boardwalk stay for September. What kind of rates did you get and when did you book them? Thanks!

Hi-
just read on another board that there is a Guest Services at the WS entrance-can anyone confirm? I need to get a GAC for my son, and this would be way more convenient than going to the main entrance.
Thank you very much!

Hi Dan! Did you have a good trip? We had a great time, it was more crowded than we expected. We usually go the last week in May and switched it up hoping to have lower crowds and it was about the same. We really missed staying in the Boardwalk area but he AKL was really nice.

There was a Travelocity rate several months ago for September: $107/night at Dolphin. I called Dolphin and once they verified that was a legitimate rate, they matched it!

So I'd suggest checking online at the pre-pay sites, etc. and if you spot a better rate than what you can book through Dolphin, call them, tell them the rate and where you're finding it, they'll put you on hold and check it; if they find it, they should match it! :thumbsup2

Expedia has "deals" on Tuesdays - I haven't seen one for Swan/Dolphin yet though.

The past two years, the S/D came out with lower rates around the end of July/early August for September stays.

In 2009, I was able to book a $99 rate for Labor Day week at the Dolphin. In 2010, I believe the lowest rate for the same week at the Dolphin was also $99, the Swan was $109.
