Quick note on Capt. Cook's: overall a nice quick service spot. Pretty good selection. Crowds haven't been too bad any time we've been there. The new set up is a little confusing and we've seen plenty of folks need assistance with the process. After you do it once, it's a snap though. This place is much better overall since the rehab...much larger with much more space to dine inside. We used to always struggle with finding a table to eat at. Usually we would end up eating outside at one of the tables. Which in July and August when we usually have to vacation (my DW is a teacher) is not the preferred dining situation! :thumbsup2

So is there resort specific leisure wear (not generic WDW logo) available in the gift shops with the Polynesian resort logo (whatever logo that is:) )on it? Iam gathering that there is from the post from CR Resort Fan 4 Life about the Poly shirt. What kinds of stuff do they sell? Everybody has Disney stuff but resort specific souvineers might be more fun to buy for friends/family.
All the Resort stores have some specific items with the Resorts logo on them. It could range from shirts, mugs hats and etc.

Your live updates have been so fun I am really going to miss them when your trip ends:sad1: . Maybe Disney could give you a permenant room to report from:rotfl2: . How was the weather there today ? I only live 3hrs south and it stormed here today . We arrive at SoG in 1week and 4days can't wait we will be there for 15 days:woohoo: . Are the crowds getting smaller or typical summer crowds?

Wow, do I wish you worked in the Disney HR division! As for the crowds, I really am not sure if they are larger or smaller than usual. This time of year is always very busy and this year seems like "par for the course". We usually leave the parks around lunch time to avoid the big crowds. Around 1pm is when I'm ready to run screaming for the exits!

The 1st time I tried the touch screen ordering I got it right away, so I found it very easy. The only thing I had to ask for help with was not wanting specific items on the Adult Grilled Cheese Sandwich. However after the Cast Member showed me what to do I got the hang of it.

Laundry facilities are near the bus stop and the Neverland Club. I just brought a roll of quarters with me so I didn't need to worry about a change machine. :goodvibes

Had to share my BARGAIN from the Boutiki at the Poly when we were there last month...I found cute Lilo and Stitch t-shirts that said Poly Resort on them and they were marked down to $7.99...I snatched up two for my DDs...there were only a few left and we were there June 26-July 3.

I know this has to have been asked and answered already (probably more than once!), but can someone please let me know if the pool (main or quiet) is open all nite? i.e. for adults, not screaming kids.

Both pools don't officially close once the lifeguards are off duty so they are not fenced off or anything. However last December during the night there would be ducks in the volcano pool with no other guests in there at the time, so I am not sure if they still have that problem. The only thing I don't know if the quiet pool had that same problem during the night.

Which longhouses are considered GV? I would like to make a request (mostly because I want a balcony), but I'm not sure even which are considered GV and what are LV. Thanks!

With the exception of Hawaii and Tonga which are club longhouses, every longhouse has gardenview rooms. A few also have lagoon or MK view rooms on the lagoon side of the building.

My family and I swam at night in August and December and it is as CRFan stated above. Usually late at night there are folks who just arrived (usually on flights from Europe) and night swimmers like us. The atmosphere is pretty calm. No loud screaming or anything and we had a room in Samoa right across from the Volcano pool. :thumbsup2

We were there in June and ducks would land in the pool, swim a lap and fly away. This was during the day while there were swimmers splashing around. I didn't see anyone get upset by this - everybody laughed. The ducks are the year-round residents at the Poly! :rotfl:

Hi everyone
Just wanted to introduce myself.
We have our first Poly stay this month and I have to thank everyone here for providing such great info.
I'm done with my lurking and can't wait to experience the Poly and share with everyone!
