We will be at the Poly in a few weeks :cool1: , and with as many trips as I've been on, you'd think I'd know the answer to this question. But alas, I do not.

We have an 8:30 ADR for the Princess Storybook one morning. We very rarely do early morning breakfasts, which is why I'm not sure about this. We will likely walk to the TTC to get the monorail to Epcot. Will the monorail be running that early? And, what time to you suggest we get to the TTC by to make it there in time.

Thanks in advance!!!! :)
Yes the Monorail to Epcot will be running early and I would say to get there just before 7:30 AM to give yourselves enough time.

this is a great thread! If you are referring to the GF thread, people complained there was to much chit and chat and we were told by a mod to have less of it.

Wow! I'll just say again how great this thread is. :worship: I checked out another resort thread (won't say which one) and it couldn't touch this one. Not only has SeaSpray done such a fabulous job setting it up, the folks posting here are wonderful and helpful. On the other thread it said, "I'd like to keep the chit chat to a minimum". Sheesh. Well, different strokes...

Here's my question:

We will be at the Poly for the first time in 40 days! We have an ADR for our arrival night at Ohana's. It will be me, DH and DS11. Can anyone tell me more in depth about the "entertainment" at the restaurant? I've heard about the coconut races (I'm not expecting formal entertainment, but it seemed from other folks that lots of things are going on). I'm wondering how DS will like it. He is in that tweener stage where he can't act too impressed by anything. I'm sure those who have or have had tweeners know what I mean.

DS will eat the food at Ohana's, I'm not worried about that. As long as no one tells him he can order from a kids menu he'll be adventurous and probably like the selections.

So...any entertainment feedback out there?

Thanks!

Sorry but the great trip reports come from huntconn. My trip starts in 1 week and 5 days:woohoo: I will be at Shades of Green right next to Poly. so we will be there alot:yay: .

Oops, I wasn't very observant there was I? Thanks for correcting me! Have a great stay at SOG!!

No, it wasn't the GF. It was another resort I was researching for our upcoming trip. (<---Hint). :rolleyes1

Ok, time for another Poly update!
Lots of people swimming in the Lagoon. At any given time in the afternoon there are upwards of 15 people (both kids and adults) swimming and or playing in the lagoon. Strange that Disney posts "no swimming" here but do not seem to do anything about it when folks do. Makes me wonder how great the danger really is but I'm still not risking it!
Walking through Tahiti from the TTC the past several days, I really noticed how much wider the hallways are in the newer bulidings. It makes hallways much brighter than the older buildings. The lighting seems the same.
Yes, we did receive our Poly chocolate bar upon arrival. The chocolate bar seems to have a newer, brighter graphic on it. We also received leis and sand buckets for the kids upon check in.
Both of my DS's (6 and 7) finally braved SpM this time. I'm so proud of them! They can now do every ride in the MK. Now we have to work on ToT and RnR Coaster! Not this year though.
LOTS of Brazilian tour group in the park. Almost all of them have been very well behaved. They seem to be made up of about 80% girls. These groups can be very large.
Went to the HDDR the other night. Too much FUN! My kids laughed almost the entire time. Great, corny fun. Food was good too. I'll check in later!:yay:

Huntconn,

Have you noticed if the sundries shop sells Soymilk, vanilla flavor? If you happen to be in there, could you give it a look for me? What the prices and sizes may be? I wouldn't ask you to make a special trip...but if you notice, please let me know. :goodvibes

Thanks and I hope your having a wonderful trip!!! I am really enjoying your live reports.

huntconn,
When you get a chance can you tell me if the Boutiki store is selling a blue Polynesian logo shirt. I use to have one and after my family and I last got home from WDW it got ruined, so I was unable to purchase a new one while we were there last December. So if they still have it for sale I will get a new one in a few weeks when my family and I visit the Polynesian. However if anyone else who was just there remembers seeing it for sale would you please let me know.

Just walked throught Boutiki on the way back from HS and I did not see a blue Poly logo shirt. I was looking specifically for it too at your request. There is a nice dark blue Poly logo zip up cover up type thing with matching shorts. I was going to get it until I realized it was Ladies' wear!:rotfl2:

Note on the Poly arcade for the video gamers out there. The arcade is much better in the location it is now. Much more centrally located. Unfortunately, I don't think they have added a single game since we were here in August of last year. Still a decent arcade though. We've spent a bit of time there since both my boys are game nuts (don't know where they got that from:rolleyes1 ) Best arcade on the monorail loop is at the Contemporary althought it's not as good as it was years ago in it original location.
We were at Hollywood Studios this morning. My boys loved the Jedi Training but refused to volunteer. The guy who played the Jedi Master was very good. Poor guy was sweating his butt off too...VERY hot today. Speaking of which....off to the Volcano pool!

How was DHS? Did you ride TSMania? I think it's such a great addition to the park.

Have fun. I'm thoroughly enjoying your reports!

Thank you for taking the time to look.

LOL!

I have that set, only with the pants instead of the shorts. I love it -- it's very comfy and of course reminds me of the Poly whenever I wear it! :cloud9:

We arrive late on our first night....How late does the dine in run?
Anyone have any sample menu's for dining in room at the Poly???

Room service now ends at midnight. Terry may have the rooms service menu in the beginning of the thread but I couldn't find it. Here's one from AllEars. It's almost 2 years old but I think it hasn't changed too much other than prices.

So is there resort specific leisure wear (not generic WDW logo) available in the gift shops with the Polynesian resort logo (whatever logo that is:) )on it? Iam gathering that there is from the post from CR Resort Fan 4 Life about the Poly shirt. What kinds of stuff do they sell? Everybody has Disney stuff but resort specific souvineers might be more fun to buy for friends/family.

Hello again! Just got back from the Poly pool (Volcano of course). And darnit if that isn't the coolest pool in existence. Yes, it could be a little bit bigger but everything else about it is fantastic. Everything has been running 100% with it since we arrived i.e.: the waterfall is always going, the top of the volcano is sending out plumes of smoke, the water slide has been fully operational. Zero entry is another one of those things that makes you wonder what took someone so long to figure this out (kinda like Fast Pass!). Now I go to a pool w/o zero entry and it's like "what the heck?". And not to mention the awesome view of the castle while you're swimming! No wonder the Poly has so many pool hoppers. We listened to a group of adults sitting at a table next to us openly talk about how they were staying at the WL. When they left, they just go up and walked right down the dock and hopped on the boat to the WL. I wonder how many Poly folks go to the WL to pool hop? Answer: none...we have the best pool in the MK area! Ok Ok...just having fun. Calm down all you CR, GF and WL fans!

Your live updates have been so fun I am really going to miss them when your trip ends:sad1: . Maybe Disney could give you a permenant room to report from:rotfl2: . How was the weather there today ? I only live 3hrs south and it stormed here today . We arrive at SoG in 1week and 4days can't wait we will be there for 15 days:woohoo: . Are the crowds getting smaller or typical summer crowds?
