I was wondering, If you are staying GV at the Poly can you order room service? I would love to have that famous Kona Coffee waiting for me in the morning. Thanks!

Unfortunately, Kona coffee is NOT on the Private Dining (room service) menu. While you're there placing your order, it couldn't hurt to ask though. :)

I am not a big breakfast person but MUST have my coffee...I prefer iced in the summer and wondered if the Poly offers iced kona coffee? I know I know, it's not D&D or Starbucks, I was just curious:) It's our first stay at the Poly and I am not fond of the in room coffee makers...I always wonder if they are ever cleaned and they seem dusty and just gross. That's just me, oh did I mention I am a bit OCD and germ phobic :rotfl2: We're on the DDP so is coffee considered a snack?

I've actually never ordered from the Kona Isle coffee stand. But if you want iced Kona Coffee, you could either order the Kona Blend from Kona Isle (or if you want 100% Kona, you'd have to go inside Kona Cafe and order the press pot), THEN ask the server for a large to-go cup with ice, and make your own.

I really could go for a LARGE ICED 100% KONA COFFEE right about now!! ::yes:: Wish I would've thought to do that when I was there last month! LOL

Edited to add: Sorry, I don't know if coffee is considered a snack or not.

I think that's a good enough excuse to book a return trip, don't you? ::yes::

As BCV said, Tonga Toast is indeed on the Private Dining menu! :)

Here's the exact listing from the menu:

Tonga Toast
Our famous banana-stuffed sourdough French Toast rolled in Cinnamon Sugar, served with a Strawberry compote and your choice of Ham, Bacon, or Sausage. $13.99

Oh Gosh! You gotta torture me like that!?!?!?!?! :rotfl: That is one of my favorite foods in the whole world....and I forgot about the strawberries
Thank you both for answering my question:goodvibes

All these posts about Kona coffee are making me think about my favorite breakfast in all of Disney World -- pineapple macadamia nut pancakes, lilikoi juice, and a press pot of Kona coffee

You're welcome! :)

That's MY Favorite Disney World breakfast, too!! :thumbsup2

And since I don't put any maple syrup on them I ask for extra pineapple and macadamia nut butter... YUMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!

Does anyone know if they sell things for breakfast in the store there? ie. breakfast/cereal bars, small boxes of cereal. Also, I know the WL sells bread and PB and J. Do they also sell that here? Just wondering if I should just buy these things on property rather than using garden grocer. TIA;)

I don't remember if they sell the items your looking for, however the best place at the Polynesian to look at is Samoa Snacks which is located on the 2nd flooor of the GCH and is next to Trader Jack's.

That's funny! I decided to make french toast too! I did use real maple syrup and King's Hawaiian bread to make it fancy. The kids asked if it was Tonga Toast, but it wasn't. Boo.

Definitely the place to check! I don't know about cereal or cereal bars, PB& J or bread, but I know I purchased donuts there in 2007, so they probably have that sort of stuff.

We just returned from our 8 night stay at the Poly. I did not see breakfast fixings in the snack store on the 2nd floor, but Captain Cooks has individual size cereal boxes and they also have granola bars.

We just booked 2 nights at the club level as part of our split stay in July 2009..Looking forward to our stay.:thumbsup2

I've stayed at the Poly 5 times so far and each time was club level. And I had a wonderful time each and every time.
It was about a month ago that I discovered these threads and now find it difficult to admit that I've never had Tonga Toast. I have no idea how I missed it! All I know is that it is on TOP of my list during my next Poly visit. In fact, I have tentative reservations for early Oct. (I love the food and wine festival at EPCOT). But, now I'm hoping to advance my reservations to early Sept. All because of my need to try Tonga Toast. You people are making me Disney crazed. More specifically, Poly crazed and.....I THANK YOU for it!

JR, this thread is great for fueling the Polynesian fever, isn't it? And everyone is so friendly just like the Polynesian.:goodvibes

Tonga Toast is so good but it is very rich and sweet. Be sure to try it without syrup first. We never use syrup on it. These days I get by with a corner of my husband's order and I get the fruit plate. So good too.

Have fun whether Sept. or Oct.. Oh, wait. You're going to the Polynesian. You will have fun!!!!:cool1:

Count me as another person that's stayed at the Poly many times (8x) and never had Tongo Toast. :scared1: I definitely plan on trying it this year. :thumbsup2

This sounds like me, many stays without trying it...but I'm afraid it may be too sweet for me. Maybe I'll get one of my boys to get it and I'll have a taste!
