The other thing about Disney Florist is that they will work with you. If you want to make some changes or describe what you're interested in, they're very helpful. And the quality is just what you'd expect from WDW.

BCV23: I'm glad you're having a great time! I thought of you while at work today; a co-worker recently went to Hawaii and brought back Kona coffee and made a pot of it this afternoon. It was SO good and made me think of you having breakfast this week at the Kona Cafe!

Thanks. I'm very much a tea drinker but have to have Kona's coffee at least once per trip. I only do the decaf blend but really enjoy it.

Happy planning for your trip. Maybe we'll see each other in the lounge!

I'm a tea drinker too, but in recent years I've come to enjoy a GOOD cup of coffee, especially Kona coffee at the Kona Cafe!

Are you going to be at the Polynesian at the same time as us?? I would love to say Hi! We'll be a group of 3: DH and I, plus our DAunt in her mid 70's. You know what *I* look like, so I shouldn't be too hard to recognise. LOL If you see me, please do say hello!!!

Sorry that you're back in the snow and ice. It snowed and then rained here overnight, so now it's just a big slushy mess out there right now. Daydreaming of our upcoming trip makes me feel better though

Right off the front page of the Polynesian resort's Newletter, "The Island Palm Press", here are some words in Polynesia. Enjoy!

'Aha'aina (ah-hah-ah-e-na) = Feast

Aita Peatea [/B](ah-ee-tah-pay-ah-te-ah) = "There will be another day tomorrow just like today". This is the Polynesian Resort's motto

Aloha (ah-lo-hah) = A show of affection with love and hospitality. Also used as a greeting and farewell.

Ho'Onanea (ho-oh-nah-nay-ah) = To pass the time in ease, pleasure, and peace. This is MY motto and how I feel while at the Polynesian!

Lawelawe (lah-way-lah-way) = To serve, work for, minister to, attend to, to wait as on a table.

Luau (lou-ow) = A feast named after the taro leves that were often served at these dinners.

Mahalo (mah-hah-lo) = Thanks, gratitude, to give thanks.

Mahalo nui loa (mah-hah-lo-noo-ee-lo-ah) = Thank you very much.

Menehune (men-ah-hoo-nay) = a race of dwarf-like people who worked at night. They were believed to be the first inhabitants of the Hawaiian Islands.

Moana (mo-ah-nah) = Ocean

'Ohana (oh-hah-nah) = Family

Not sure. Some months ago you posted something that made me think we'd be there at the same time. We'll only be at the Polynesian 2 nights. We start at the AKV on club level and then move to Hawaii. After that we go to BCV for 5 nights. Won't like packing up so often but we're looking forward to each experience as we love them all. The Polynesian will always feel like home to us but we're getting seriously addicted to the space of the villas as well as the W/Dryer believe it or not.

If only there were villas at the Polynesian. That would be the ultimate for us.

Thanks for posting that. My parents met and were married in Hawaii and Dad used to write messages to my mother in the Hawaiian language. He passed away last year and we've since been finding his notes to her. He always signed them "Ku'uipo" (sweetheart).

Well we are booking Poly and I have a question for you experts. Do you prefer a patio room so the kids can go out to the beach or a balcony room? Are the patios close enough to the beach that the kids could play out front. DH is doing some overtime so it looks like we are gonna get CL LV for our first trip to the Poly. I am sooo excited. Now I just have to wait for my time to arrive. But that leaves plenty of time for obsessing on my trip plans. LOL.

Booked our rooms today. Arriving at WDW on Dec 7 spending 3 nights at AKL then switching to Poly for 5 night. I've been before (many years ago) but its first time for DH, DS 8yrs and DD 6yrs. I've been in planning mode for a month already so was glad to get everything finalized. As it was I couldn't get my original dates...can't believe the start of Dec was already booked this early in the year. Poly is very popular I guess. Subscribed so I can keep up with all the news. Thanks for the great thread.

I personally love the patios *and* the balconies. But when our son was little, I liked the patios more. It gave him room to play while we relaxed a bit and watched!

The beach is pretty close to the Hawaii building, but there is a walkway between them, so I guess it would depend on your kids' ages and your comfort level.

You're going to love your stay there!

Here are some pictures that show the grassy area between the Hawaii building and beach. In this first picture, I'm standing on the balcony of our third floor room and I'm looking down and to my right (you can see the Contemporary in this pic), and you can see that the stretch of grass and shrubs varies, along the front of the Hawaii building, between the building itself and the sand:

In this picture I was standing on the beach looking at the Hawaii building, this shows some more of the grassy area in the front of the building. In the previous picture I was on the balcony on the third floor, the second room from the lounge end (close end) of the building:

Here's a picture where I was looking down, you can see the path between the grass and the sand:

Hopefully these will give you a little better idea of how close (or far) the beach is from the patios.

I'm staying at a princess suite in Tonga and was bummed to find that all the suites are in Tonga vs. Hawaii. Has anyone had experience staying here - can you still get the breakfast/ coffee there? Is it a long trek to Hawaii to use the lounge? Any info/pics would be much appreciated!

We've never stayed in a suite at the Polynesian but I do remember reading that there are some food or drink set out in that building too. Sorry that I can't remember the details. Google Tikiman for a wonderful site with great info on all things Polynesian including pictures of the suites.

Aloha Everyone!!

I will be staying at the Polynesian this decemeber and I am so excited!! This would be my 3rd time staying at the Polynesian. I was just wondering, if anyone has a favorite longhouse at the Polynesian. Mine would be Tahiti!!

My favorite is whichever one I'm lucky enough to be in on any given vacation. Seriously, I've loved every longhouse we've stayed in.

I love the whole resort in general, but I just love Tahiti because it's so far away from the GCH and you are so close to the MK. You can lie in the hammock and watch the ferryboat go by, and you can sometimes hear the music coming from the Magic Kingdom.

Although, I will have to admit this: I remember one night coming back from the Arcade and the door to get into Tahiti was ripped off. I'm not sure why and what kind of human would do this.
