That's not a bad plan with your lunch plans because you will already be at the CR, you will just have to transfer to the EPCOT Monorail when you reach TTC. (Tansfering means walking down a ramp then around and up another ramp)

Thanks so much Beckie !!You are such a wealth of information and so kind and helpful :worship:

Does the Inter Resort bus say,"inter-resort" or "TTC" ?And we can catch this bus back to the WL from the TTC right?

Thankyou again!

History lesson: Years ago the buses had names, BOONE named for Daniel Boone, and Crockett named for Davy Crockett, you would catch one if you wanted to go to Wilderness Lodge first and the other if you wanted to go to Ft. Wilderness first.

Now there is one bus and I believe it just has The Wilderness Lodge & Ft. Wilderness Campground As of a few weeks ago and for more years then I can remember the bus has always stoped at Stop #1 at the Lodge. Be sure to always check with the driver where he/she is going next "Are you going to the campground or TTC?" then you won't wast time. The CM-Brenda has been driving the loop for years so if your lucky enough to get her she will take you anywhere you want to go...she has been known to take guest to the resorts for their PS for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Never hurts to ask?:p
She has also taken guest to the MK if that's where they needed to go. She is a great employee.

Yes, ::yes:: this bus does run late so you would be able to use it after your dinner plans, from TTC to Wilderness Lodge.

All the deluxe Resorts have vest at No Charge for the children, all you have to do is visit Teton Boat & Bike Rental they will fit your child with the correct size. You will keep them for your entire stay then turn them back-in on your last day. They will then be able to go anywhere in the pool area including the slide.
I have also seen other floaties in the pool, but my nieces and nephews always enjoyed the freedom that the vest provided. If you ment just little toys to play with yes, ::yes:: Sorry if I gave you too much Information. :p

Thinking of switching my ressie to WL from POP

1) are there any really awful Standard view rooms???

2) do standard views ever get upgraded to another view?

3) Is the pool terrible in the summer due to gate crashers?

My dad sent me some money "just because"....this was supposed to be a budget trip hence the POP ressies...but if I used just a little of the money dad sent I could up grade to a standard at AKL or WL for about $700 more....

Trying to decide???

zurgswife-I never stayed in a Standard View so I am not sure if there are any terrible rooms.
When we stayed in August 2003 we had a Standard room booked but at check-in we were given a free upgrade to a Courtyard View. I never even asked for it :)

The pool wasnt too bad. It was usually crowded later in the day. Sometimes we might only find 1-2 empty chairs, but we were in the water mostly so we didnt really care.
In the mornings we were usually able to get chairs. I dont know about gate crashers. I remember during our October 2001 trip they did have employees walking around asking to see your room key from time to time.

It's official we have switched from POP to WL. Can't wait only slightly more then 18 days....

Now another question..

STANDARD ROOMS: All Non-Smoking rooms with 2 Queen Beds.Located on Floors 4,5 & 6. On the North(MK) side, they face the service area. There are also 4th floor rooms that overlokk the lobby and look out to roof peaks. Lobby rooms do have balconies.

Does the last part of this mean that ONLY lobby rooms have balconies and none of the other standard rooms do???

zurgswife,

Welcome, all the room at The Wilderness Lodge have balconies or patios, The Lodge is well known for giving upgrades. I always try and book a standard room when staying with a good code, then if I'm upgraded great, if not I have still saved extra money...Some of the standard rooms actually have great views for Wishes you may get lucky .

About the pool??? I'm not sure as we don't visit during June-July-August :confused3
I'm so glad your going to try Wilderness Lodge Be sure to check out the Villas, Zurg could buy you another Birthday gift for this year...(your children are going to love the Lodge)

Hmmm let me consider my reply options:

1) Oh you had to go and mention THAT!
2) She doesn't need any help with ideas like this thank you.
3) Are you on CRACK?
4) Drop Dead!
5) Butt Out.
6) POP Here we come.
7) I don't think Hell or WDW will freeze over in July but there is better chance of either.
8) This is why husbands don't do anything but sit, grunt and belch, everything else sets an expensive precedent.

choices :teeth:

How successful have people been with room requests at WL? I would like a North end room facing the otter pond. I know you can't fax in requests anymore. I've put the request on my res.

Has anyone had luck getting their request fullfilled?

Thanks-

Sorcha

Sooo Glad to see that the Zurgs have entered our ranks!
The Zurg tales are great!!!:hyper:

Just Beware...enter WL at your own risk!

I wouldn't worry too much. We have never had a problem with room assignments or even being upgraded at checkin to a better view. To be honest, to me, there isn't a bad view in the house although my wife and I have come to like the courtyard with a main pool view. We also like the villas pool view as it is nice and quiet.

I would recommend that you quite simply ask at checkin if you could be upgraded. In most cases they will do it if there is availability. You have better odds of an upgrade in the off season and during the week than you would on a weekend and during normal season.

In 1999, we stayed at WL for the first time. I remember we had a standard room booked and it had a great view. We could see the castle and a glimpse of the monorail. We could actually sit on our bed and watch the castle change colors!! I "think" it was 7033. Standing in the lobby, it was of course on the left hand side, almost where the second "section" starts. Sorry I don't know the proper WL building lingo ;) ;) . If we looked down, we had a view of the smokehouse.

In a few weeks we have a woods view. Where might we be in compared to the last visit??

Hi WL experts!

We are staying at the lodge for the first time this summer (24 days from now!) and have a standard room booked. I requested a N/S room off the lobby. If I get my request, what view do you see off the balcony? I know Majestic has posted wonderful pics of their trips to the lodge, and I have looked at their balcony pics, but I am not sure which one of them would be a view I might get. The rooms are labeled by room number in their album, not by room view type.

We are so excited! Can't wait to get there!

Woods view is typically the North side of the resort which gives you a view of the trees, castle, lake, and monorail. It also gives you a view of the infamous otter pond. :)

I would say that you will recognize the view you had in 99. :) ::yes::

This of course also depends on what floor you are on. If you are not staying concierge, (7th floor) then I would recommend you ask for a 5th or 6th floor room. Take note that these are also the smoking floors just in case you don't smoke.
