ok...i did it...
i just changed our reservations to the yosemite...
i hope it's not terribly long in the tooth as i read in someone's trip report...
but that balcony sold me...we love a lot of light...
the regular room didn't seem to have so much light from outside...
anyway....it's done....
as they say....you only live once.....
and this is the last leg of this summer's trip....
and probably our last as a family to WDW for many years to come....so....what the hey....
but i'm not telling the family.....let it be a surprise to them...

Main building concierge room or suite over the villas any day for view alone. That's my opinion and I'm stickin to it. :)

so....given the choice between yosemite and a 1 bedroom villa in the villas building, which would you choose?

and let's do that a second time....given the choice between a standard concierge room in the lodge vs a 1 bdrm villa in the villas building, which would you choose?..

that's it...really....i promise....no more questions after these (unless i think up something else..:D )

First, WELCOME to the DIS

I would pick the Two-Bedroom Villa because I love the VWL's.

If price is an issue have you checked out the Jr. Suite it sleeps six and would be less expencive then two standard rooms.

DELUXE-TWO QUEEN BEDS & ONE SOFA BED (sleeps 6) The Deluxe Guest Room has a sitting area separated from the bedroom by french doors, additional television, refrigerator with ice machine, coffeemaker, and wet bar.

MAGICinMYHEART...
had the 2 bedroom been available i would have had a difficult decision, but it's simply not available for my dates....
so i was 'stuck' with the suite....;)

Majestic..
thanks for the reinforcement to my decision!!

I'm glad you decided and were able to reserve the Yosemite, I'm sure that the room will be beautiful. You will also have the best Mousekeeper on the floor Diana. She keeps everything in tip top shape and makes the most adorable towel creations.

Hi all,

I have been trying to get to post for a couple of days now. Just crazy busy at work.

Becky, I am so excited that you got upgraded to conceirge at the WL. You deserve it, you are a wonderful person and I'm glad I got to meet you. I knew Mark had something up his sleeve when he wrote your name and the date on the back of his card. He is such a great guy. Marcel said that he truly represented the magical Disney attitude. It was so nice to meet with you all at the DIS meet.

Being that we are not too far from WDW, keep us informed to any DIS meets, we will try and make them.

Hoping to get to WL in August or September, saving every penny. ::yes::

Becky,

I forgot to ask you. Did you ever get a chance to get to Artist Point and try the Copper Ridge Salmon that Mark was talking about? I have to keep those dates as a reminder for next year and try and schedule a dinner there.

The salmon they serve regularly is just simply wonderful, I could imagine how the Copper Ridge was. :D

Day Four of the trip report is posted.

Day Four (A SAD GOOD-BY a HAPPY ARRIVAL) May 24, 2004

Jeanne

You are too sweet, such kind words. NO we didn't get to try the Copper Ridge Salmon the girls were to flighty and loved Concierge they grazed every chance they got, so most night they just wanted something light. We did get a few nice meals in and finally made it over to Trails End at Ft. Widerness our last night...yummy.

Looks like I'm going to try a trip in September not sure of dates yet...have to try out my new DVC Membership over at BoardWalk Villas with Friday and Saturday at The Wilderness Lodge.

I originally had a resort only ressie at CBR. I made several PS arrangments. Since then, I have came to my senses and changed my ressie to the WL with a new confirmation #. Do I need to call and change anything with my PS arrangements? Are they tied to your resort/package ressie confirmation #?

Thanks.

boswellnakia,

First WELCOME to the DIS.

Good question, years ago they use to tell you that if you canceled your Resort reservations that it would cancel all your other PS reservations...They don't tell you that any more, still to be on the safe side I would call and make sure. If you would post what they tell you it will be helpful for others. (Unless any other WL Vet's or WL fans knows for sure.)

Beckie

PS Oh and have a great stay, Your going to love Wilderness Lodge

I had originally booked a room only ressie at the WL for 7/18-7/25 and made all my PS's at 60 days out. Since then I decided to take advantage of the 7/5 deal and so had to cancel my room only and then rebook for the package. The CM was great and fortunately my dates were available and we made the change without any problems.........except I never considered that my confirmation number had changed from the one I had originally used to make the PS's. I just called dining and to my relief, all is well. The CM assured me that the change in my ressie confirmation number had no effect...........but just to make sure she went over everything with me and sure enough all my PS's were fine. Whew!
Although we have been to Disney before, this is our first stay at the WL and we can't wait.(me,DH,and 2 DS's 19 + 16). We are booked for courtyard view..........what do you think my chances are to upgrade to CL when we get there? Any advice?

43 TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:bounce:

Welcome, OaksPAC!

You & your family will love the lodge! It's so beautiful. Be sure to take some time and walk around and find all the "hidden corners".

I think WL is actually one of the "better" resorts as far as "chances" of being upgraded to concierge. If it's not offered when you check in, I'd just ask if any concierge rooms are available. When we went last fall, the upgrade from courtyard to concierge was abt $35 per night.

Just managed to catch up on four days worth of this thread--it's been busy!

Magicinmyheart- For all of the help you give others, it certainly seems that you deserve to get upgraded! Congratulations!

Erika- Glad you got the room you wanted and that your picture came back!

My counter went under 40 days while I was away from the boards! I'm very excited about this. However, this only gives me six weeks to make sure my shorts still fit. I'm afraid to go find out...

Hello,

Can anyone give me an idea, about how long it takes to make the trip back over to the MK later in the afternoon. When the large boat reverses the schedule and goes from the Wilderness Lodge then Ft. Wilderness then MK?

thanks pirate:

10, maybe 15 minutes. It's not long.

Has anyone ever rented the Pontoon boats from WL?

I see that it is one of the things we may spend one of our silver plan magical wishes one.Although, I think it is one wish, per person. Making it about 136.00 for 30 minutes !

It sounds kind of neat though to be able to boat around bay lake and look at the resorts etc.

Chris

Can anyone give me a better idea of the size of the safe in WL (not concierge)? I've read on this thread that they are small, but that is a bit vague. When we stayed at the AKL I thought the safe was small but still managed to get my laptop to fit in it on its side. Anyone have any idea if this would be possible at WL?
