Thanks for the clarification on the rooms. Now I have a very important question: If you had a Woods View reserved, which area/floor would you request? Why? Thanks! 13 days to WL!!!!

Laura ::yes::

I'm requesting first floor in the North wing with a view of the otter pond. I think my kids would love that. The only issue might be the noise of being on the first floor. But I really want the view of the otter pond.

I agree! You can see the Otter Pond from some of the other floors too!

Does anyone know if the WL charges for accepting packages mailed to guest? I was going to send a few items before we drove there (snacks, disposable items, etc), but would not do it if they hotel would charge a fee to accept them.
Thanks.

Thanks for the room clarification, AC and Ronald Duck! Now one more question about Woods views--would you say there's anything 'wrong' with the rooms over WCC? Should I try and stay away from those rooms or are they o.k.?

I haven't stayed at WL, but after embarrassingly long hours of reading posts from those who have:rolleyes:, I came to the conclusion that these rooms have a lot to offer...convenience to restaurants, shop, and especially busses; the beautiful lobby right outside your door; and a good to excellent view which, according to most who have stayed in that section, includes at least a partial view of the Contemporary, MK, and fireworks (actually a better view than further down in the North Wing!). The people who have mentioned noise as an issue have generally been those who stayed on the other (South) side of the lobby. Although I requested Standard View, I'll be thrilled if they upgrade me to one of these rooms.

OK, Ronald Duck, I will officially check off "room location" from my "Things to Worry About for the Next Eleven Days" list. Maybe I'll get back to those two papers I have to turn in today for my summer class...there's something to ACTUALLY worry about!

Thanks for the input!::yes::

editing to say

Hello Boswellnekia!! I see we'll be at WL at the same time, though you have 4 days on me...I used to live in Kentucky myself. I do miss it, though it's lovely up here, too.

I have 2 requests...

-Get those papers done! (I'm a college prof...couldn't resist:teeth: )

-When you get back from WL, please file a complete report on rooms...at that point my wife and I will be within 3 weeks of our own first WL adventure and by then I'll need something new to obsess about:earseek:

Ronald Duck-I'm done, I'm done, I promise! My history professor husband has just finished proofreading (darn him and his red pen):teacher: I am printing paper one as I type.

I will happily report on my room location when we get back. I'm sure by that time you will have found something to obsess about on your own, though!

Concierge rooms come with a fridge so no worries. :) Nice size one too. (Better than the ones at the Polynesian!)

In order to get to MK for an 8:05am PS, would it be best to take the early morning character bus to MK that I have heard about?
Or, blue flag boat to CR ,then walk or monorail to MK? If we do the latter, what time does the monorail from CR To MK start running?

We would not be able to take the green flag boat to MK that day because it starts running 30 minutes
before park opening.... correct?

Does anyone know if I will be able to hook my portable DVD player up to the TVS in the lodge? Do they have RCA plugs? or do I need to bring an RF converter? We're driving 14 hours and will be bringing a portable DVD player for our 4 year old. It would work good in the room for entertainment when the "adults" need a resting break.
Thanks.

.....that others out there would also prefer a room off the beutiful WL lobby. We have a courtyard view for this December. We will ask for one of the "Bear Face" rooms, with a balcony overlooking the back of the lodge towards the pool, and a front door opening up to the lobby. If these rooms are not available I would prefer to change to a woods or standard room view, in order to be in the lobby area.

A question.....if a person checks in at WL early in the day and requests a specific room, will the cm hold that room for him if the computer shows that the folks occupying that room will be checking out later in the day. Wasn't sure if you could do this or had to take a room that was available at the moment of check-in.

Nice research done in finding those lobby view rooms, Ronald D!

Erika and Sarah....have a great time on your upcoming trips!!

Thank you so much. . .but you will see more of here before it's time for me to leave. I agree about the rooms off the lobby; DH says the only view that he really wants is the view of the lobby from outside our room! I guess we'll find out how much we like it in October! Hope to see ya' 'round here and the rest of the DIS, Mick!

Even though I don't post, I read all new posts on this thread everyday. I wish I could help boswellnakia with all those questions. . .alas, I don't know the WL answers :( .

Have a great night, WLers!

ETA: Sarah: You must be so excited! Have a magical time. I hope you will give us a report on your stay when you get back. Safe travels and God bless if I don't "see" you before you leave ;)!
