Ooo, I know this one, too! (The experts will correct me if I get it wrong, though, thank goodness!)::yes::

The Sturdy Branches fitness center is available (free of charge now) to guests staying at WL or the Villas. Here's the number:

Sturdy Branches
407.938.4222

They used to charge for guests to use the fitness centers, but no longer do. If I recollect properly, the centers open pretty early (CSR, at least used to open at 6:00 AM). Perhaps recent returnees know for certain when they open and close.

Thanks, Erika! :wave2:

I hope you have a lovely time on your get-away next week. It sounds like fun!

Sarah

Is Sturdy Branches on site? it sounds like it would be, but I didn't know if it was seperate, at FW, or some other place. It looks like we will be there about the same time; wishing your trip the best too!

This question is for any of the pin enthusiast that have stayed at the Lodge.:earsboy:

We met a lady at the WL pin staion that was so nice and really helpful to us during our stay. I was interested in the Santa Pooh pins that were showing up on the CM lanyards at all the parks and she was very nice and told us she would look through all the pins there at the Lodge and bring us any of the Santa pins that we didn't already have:earseek: Well she couldn't find any:( but she offered us suggestions on places to look and helped our kids with their pins and gave us advice on which of our already acquired pins not to trade because they were "good" pins.::yes:: .

She was very kind and mentioned a certain pin she was looking for to give a relative in New York. I am trying to find this pin for her so I can send it to her at the Lodge but I can't remember her name. Soooo... does any one know a dark haired lady, 50 something, speaks with a foreign accent, wears glasses, and works at the pin station starting during the morning shift?
If anyone knows her name I would appreciate you sharing it with me.:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Question for the experts: With just over a week to go, should we fax room request to WL, call the Ressie #, or just wait until check in????? We're booked for Woods View; non-smoking. We don't really care if we have 2 Queens or the bunkbeds, but would like to get a room overlooking the lobby and prefer to stay away from an area that might smell like stale cigarettes. What do you all think - should I do something now or leave it to fate?!

I asked this on a separate thread but thought I'd throw it out here as well. How deep is the pool where the water slide is? My son is 5 and about 4 ft tall and can touch in a 4 ft pool and he's wondering if this is in the shallow end of the pool and about how deep it is! Any help would be great!!! Another poster said he/she thought it was maybe 3 1/2 feet but couldn't remember for sure. TIA!!

Laura-

There is no doubt that you SHOULD call the reservation number and get any room preferences into the computer...that can't hurt and it certainly may help.

As for faxing, I know that WL is one of the few (only?) Disney Resorts with an "official" policy of NOT reading faxes, so personally I wouldn't bother to do that.

Ok I really am embarrassed that I know this but....her name is Inez and she is from Brazil. She "is" wonderfull and is extremely helpful. It is crystal clear that she loves her work. She also claims to have a fairly large collection of pins which she doesn't trade. As for the morning shift, I have sean her doing other shifts too so I can't comment on that for sure.

For the rest of you, I am seriously working on memorizing all of the cast member names. :) J/K!

Take care,

Fred

Thank you, Ronald Duck! I'll call reservations and ask them to add "overlooking lobby" to our ressie. I'm sure we'll be happy no matter where they put us!!

::yes::
Thanks Majestic, I was hoping you would be the one that knew the answer to my question. Inez is the one. I asked my family and they all said that "Inez" sounded very familiar. I work with a few doctors that are from South America and I remember she had the same accent. I don't post here often, but I do read just about all the post concerning WL and CR, and I knew you were a pinatic and that you were familiar with most of the CMs.:smooth:

Thanks again and Inez will be getting her pin.
BTW can you send mail to CMs at WL?:sunny:

You should call and have that request posted on your ressie!
Room assigners are no longer accepting fax requests! Then during check-in inquire again to the CM! Good Luck and have a great stay at WL!
Update:
OH! Sorry! I see that others have beat me to the punchline!:teeth:

Happy 4th of July, WLers! <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/8/8_14_5.gif' border=0></a>

Have a fun and safe 4th. I'm going to the Mandeville Seafood Festival after church today (I'm from Louisiana ;)). . .I'll eat some crawfish etoufee and seafood gumbo for y'all!

:wave2:

Mmmm...seafood gumbo. I am so jealous, aesalsa ;) Have a great time!

Have a great 4th of July everyone. Unfortunately, I have to work this afternoon :sad: so no fireworks for me. But that's probably good...I'm kind of a klutz, I may blow off an arm or something! Then how would I be able to give Mickey a great big hug when I see him in Feb. again?!

Happy 4th of July fellow WL'ers!

I love reading all your posts about the WL.

Can anyone here tell me if the beds at WL have the same type of legs as at AKL? Someone on a different post spoke about hitting their shins on WL bed legs. Just wondering before we go. We'll find out for ourselves in a little over 7 days! Woo~hoo! We are very excited to try the lodge for the first time.

aesalsa ~ I am not sure if I said this before, but I often meant to: you have a beautiful wedding picture. I love the color of your flowers! (also, how do you change the colors of your letters in your words?)

Be prepared to hurt yourself! ::yes:: Those beds can really wake you up during those mid-night bathroom trips! :)

As for the colored text....this may help:

Hope this helps! Enjoy your trip. Pat the bear's nose and let the magic begin! ::yes:: :teeth:

HALLO, everyone !!!!

Hope all of you had a wonderful 4th of July !!!!

I haven't been on these boards in a while ( hard working ... and Mom had a major health problem last week - that now seems to be "under control" !)

I read WL room assigners WON'T read a fax !!!:(

Now my problem is : as I live in Italy (and English isn't my first language) ...... I'm afraid I will not able to call WL (we made our ressie through Dreams).
We were thinking about faxing our preferences - as we always did before our previous stays on property ;
NOW what do you experts suggest we can do ?

It's not really a problem, I'm sure we'll be VERY happy no matter what room we get ...
But we'll be celebrating my birthday AND 28th wedding anniversary, I'm SOOOOO dreaming about this staying with Humphrey ....

:love: maybe I can add some pixie dust choosing "a nice" room !!!

TIA :wave2::bounce:

Contact your agent that made the reservation for you. Tell them your needs and let them deal with CRO. Have a great trip.:wave:

1st trip to WLV coming up (not soon enough!). Question about the map of the lodge. I see the bus stop at the front of the hotel & the boat dock at the rear of the hotel. The bus stop looks super close. However, it looks like a haul to get to the boat dock from the villas. How much time should I plan just to get to the boat dock? Do I go through the lodge or walk the path by the pool? Is this where I catch the boat to MK & FW? Do I take the bus to EPCOT or do I take the boat to MK & then take the monorail? I know these are "technically" transportation questions & maybe I should use that board, but you all seem to be the experts on the resort & I think I will get the real deal from you!
Thanks!

Has anyone tried to upgrade to a deluxe room at check in? I don't mind paying for it, but didn't have a clue if it would be at the same room price difference as the rack rate. I made my original room rsvp under the July room only discount, now I'm thinking I should have asked for a deluxe room when I made the ressie. Is there a chance of getting the bigger room?

That would be my suggestion as well. Let your travel agent handle the requests for you. :D
