Are the boats:boat: to MK in the morning (before park opening) crowded or hard to get on because of them stopping at FW first?

weluvpluto,

Hi, Welcome to The WL FAQ Thread, I am sure there are times when the large Green Flag launch is very busy in the am but in all the times I have stayed at WL I have never waited on the boat more then 15 min. and have always gotten on the first boat that came (Exception going to The MVMCP one Christmas It looked like it would take standing waiting for four boats to come and go before we would even be close enough to get on the boat...after the launch pulled out the crew started pulling this large gang-plank over and this enormous ferry from TTC pulled up docked and loaded everyone waiting in just a few minutes...Disney had the problem solved before most of the guest even knew there was a problem) If you run into a problem you can always jump on one of the small Blue Flag boats to the CR then walk to the Magic Kingdom we did this one morning when we arrived at the dock early and the larger boat had started running yet...

One reason for this is because the guest over at Ft. Wilderness Campground have to for the most part catch a bus from their campsite and Wilderness homes to The Pioneer Hall area...then they have to walk to the dock from the bus stop. This keeps their numbers regulated for the most part.

Have a Great Trip!!

I plan to ask about being the Flag Family when we check in. I was just wondering if there is a set time for that. We like to get to the parks when they open, would being the Flag Family make us late for the park opening that day?

There are eight in our family. Would we all be able to participate in the Flag Family morning or is there a limit?

Thanks for all the great info in this thread.

When we did it in September of last year, we were instructed to meet Ranger Stan in the lobby at 8:15am. (There are pictures in my WL photo gallery...click the link in my signature if you wish to see them...) Not sure if the time changes for the summer hours but I would assume it doesn't.

I don't see a problem with all of the people in your family participating. Ranger Stan actually asks for some help and you get to do things for him. You'll see. :)

Hope this helps.

We are planning a trip with 5 adults and 1 child in September. We usually get the Fla. resident rate. Does anyone know what the discounted rate for a deluxe room is, either AP rate or Fla. resident rate? Also, is this room concierge and do they charge for extra adults in this room?

thanks

Hi everyone:wave2: ! I'M BAAACK!...and sooo glad to be someplace where the average temp. is below 97 degrees!

I have a quick question to all the WL readers whom I know will be absolutely honest! I just read on mousesavers about the new discount code for Aug. Unfortunately, it doesn't help me for my upcoming trip to Poly Concierge! But, the difference in price between Lagoon view Concierge(castle) and Garden view concierge(pool) is $525 total for 6 nights! I just wanted to know how valuable is a view to all of you!? I keep changing my mind and can't make a final descision!

As you already know, we stayed in May and did LVC. Our friends joined us and they stayed GVC. Hands down, the extra cash was worth it for LVC. They even said the same thing and wished they had done LVC. We had a view of the castle AND a PERFECT view of Wishes and the EWP every night. It's priceless really.

Splurge for yourselves. It's not like you vacation every day right? :)

Hope this helps.

I am staying at WLV (studio) in August. I am renting points. I have never been to the lodge before (not even to check it out).. so I am going "blind". Do they accept room requests in the Villias? Does it really make a difference which room in the Villa area? If so, which ones should I request. Do they offer late check out at the Villa's? Thank you.

I incorrectly posted this to the main page earlier. Sorry:o

Does anyone know where I can find a list of what is available in the room?

We have booked a woods view in July 2004 and was wanting to know if we needed to pack certain items.

Such as blow dryer, curling iron, shampoo, ect.

Thank you for any help.

Not sure about where an exact list might be found but I can help a bit from my recollection of my previous stay...

Blow Dryer- yes- one of those hotel types that mounts on the wall.

Curling Iron- no

Shampoo- yes- soap and shower caps too- this will get replenished daily by Mousekeeping.

Iron & Ironing Board- yes- housed in closet.

Clothes line- there was one as part of the bath/shower but ours was broken. Was OK for us as we only had two wet bathing suits to dry.

Glasses & Ice Bucket- yes

Mini Refrigerator- can be rented

Night Light- no- I always pack one in my daughter's travel kit for use in hotel rooms. Makes it easy for her to find the bathroom at night and not wake us up.

That is about all I can think of. Hope that helps! I'm sure other WL vets will chime in to help out.

Have a great trip!

Our WDW vacation can't come quickly enough!

Our stay at Puerto Rico was great! We visited the beach 3 times and had an opportunity to ride horses...we did alot of shopping in Old San Juan and did the Bacardi tour! Nice tour!...even nicer after you drink the complimentary mixed drinks!

Kimmar(HughJackmanNMe)and I(as well as our 2 brothers) used to spend our summers in Puerto Rico when we were younger...but forgot how hot it gets during the summer months! Phew!

On my last 2 trips they had a orange light that was part of the dryer on the wall..it gave off enough light to get you to the bathroom. I didn't need to use the night light I had brought.
Also, I have left the bathroom light on and shut the door...light creeps out under the door and is good too!

Your going to love the VWL while most all the villas have a woods view either direction, a few do overlook the Hidden Springs Pool so have your DVC Member that you rent your points from to request a pool view near the elevators...Thats about it...If you have any more questions just ask we are always here...also check out the first page of this thread for some additional information about the Lodge I have a post there that list some of the activities avaliable you and your family to enjoy most are at no charge.
