The NEW Official November 2010 Countdown & Planning Thread ~ Come join us! (Part 2)

Really? I just called on Monday and they had a lot of availability at Ft. Wildnerness. I called for Nov 21 - 23 and they had multiple times each day. In fact I have a ressie for Nov 22nd at 6:30pm but I don't think I'm going to use it.

DD5 wants to go to DTD to see Santa Claus and I want to go to WoD, so I'm probably going to cancel it soon. If that time works for you, I can let you know prior to canceling.

Both the carriage ride and visiting Santa Claus are new things for us.

We are eating at Turf Club and Liberty Tree Tavern which are also new for us, too.

I don't know why but we called a few weeks ago, again last week and when I saw this I tried again today and nothing all week! It was Ft. Wilderness we were trying for. :confused3 That day is iffy but I could move some things around. How many people was it for?

Hey Jessica! Glad you are still here!! Did you ever get any info on who hit your car? I still can not believe no one saw it or has felt guilty enough to confess:rotfl:...well...I can believe it, because people are crazy sometimes, but I did hate that for you!!!
I can do online check in today, but kinda, not sure...what has been yalls experience with this?

Nah... I am not going anywhere. I have been with this group for a while, so I figured I would stick it out until everyone gets back from their trips. I haven't been getting on as often since I don't have much to add. But I plan to live out my Nov vacations threw each of you! ;)

And sadly, no. We didn't find who hit us. My car is in the shop right now. I am pretty certain it is cursed! They have been trying for two days to match the color. Apparently the code that comes from Toyota isn't the right color. He thinks that he finally got the match this morning! But.... they have to wait on the other part of the fog light to come in. He thought he had both pieces, but it turns out they come in two different boxes and not the same. He didn't know this until yesterday. So, he had the piece expressed over night. Oh, and I was driving Sat and a rock flew off of a coal truck and chipped my windshield. Yeah... certain its a cursed car! lol

That's craziness with the car. :confused3:sad2:

We have a few first time things:

MK: MVMCP, Dessert Party, Dole Whip
EP: Candlelight Processional, Le Cellier
AK: Wildlife Discovery Excursion
HS: TSM

Also, this is our first trip staying deluxe and we are also staying CL.

QOTD ~ going in November & seeing it all decorated up for Christmas!!
We usually go in Septmeber for free dining.

Also a few new food places we want to try Cosmic Rays in MK and there was another one somewhere, I can't remember now think it was in Studios somewhere.
Hmm...also we'll have the refillable mugs, never had those before, nice little perk to our free dining booking this year.

I think that is it :)

QOTD- I agree, it's driving through the arch! We take a pic every time... 23 days for me, I can't wait!!!

When we pull up to the Boardwalk gate and the guard says, "Welcome home!" :lovestruc Next to my kids telling me they love me (rarer now that they are 12 and 10), that is one of the BEST things to hear.

I'm like you.. When we pull up to the guard gate at Saratoga Springs and the guards says Welcome Home!! But really..... when we make a left turn on Vacation Club Way and see the big white wooden lifeguard chair with the DVC sign on it...... its says... to me YEAH!!! we're HOME!!! :cool1:

2 weeks from tomorrow we'll be setting out on the road, we have about a 14-15 hour ride.
For those of you driving, how long is your ride?

Leaving in 9 DAYS!!!! It's a 12 hour drive for us. I drive to I-4 and the hubby drives the rest of the way. He likes the toll booths and driving in under the arch.

QOTD: Are you doing anything new this year? And, if it is your first trip, do you have a "must do" at each park?

Yeah, Stay HOME! LOL That is definitely a first! ;)

We were *this* close to re-booking the other day. If we used the military discounted tickets and the Shades of Greens Nov special, we could go for less then $1000 for 4 days -including food! But, we had to remind ourselves we are trying to be responsible, which is why we canceled to begin with. It was tempting tho! Very Very Very tempting.

Right now, we are going to stick with our June trip. My bff and her family are going with us. And my stepsister and her family are always there that week, along with another family we are close with. We are still not sold on where we are going to stay. Our friends want to stay at the Movies. I want to stay at AKL. We already switched back to the Poly for the girls. I dunno what we are going to do. But I do know we won't be doing DxDP. No way I could eat like that in the summer. I make ADRs on Dec 7. So, I suppose we should start planning some.... lol

My ticker has the dates we plan on re-booking but we or maybe I should say I have priced out many trips to go earlier based on the current promotions out there. We were really tempted to change to late September into October next year (MNSSHP and F&W) plus we could take advantage of FD, but then we keep coming back to wanting to do the whole Christmas expierence plus we think it may be too hot for us earlier in the year unless we were to go sometime from Jan to early Mar. :confused3

We are at a standstill afraid to part with our money for fear something else will happen :lmao:

It does sound like your car is cursed we had one like that once , well DH did it was his dream car a cute lil 2 door red sports type subaru, ended up eventually totalling it and luckily we had full replacement value on the policy so we were able to get same care only in white with no curse. He only had the orginal one for less than 6 months.:scared1:

Hopefully once you get your car back all fixed that will be then end of your troubles.:goodvibes

So my DS6 lost his first tooth 2 nights ago. He was SO excited! Yesterday morning he wakes up and calls me in his room. He shows me the $5 he got (only for a first tooth) but then gets this sad little face and says "but I miss my tooth". He was almost in tears. So I told him to write her a letter and maybe she would bring it back. And guess what, she did! And now he is SUPER excited!!! (he stuck it back in the hole to make sure it was actually his and declared "Yep, she brought me back the right tooth")
shinysparklybubbles- what is the chip and dale camp fire? Sounds fun!

How cute can these kids get!! ;)

If it is the one I am thinking of, the Chip and Dale campfire is a sing-a-long and movie held nightly at Fort Wilderness.

We are driving down from N. Florida, with stops and all it should take us around 5 hours. We could cut back on driving time by traveling more on the interstate but when I am on vacation I do not want to feel rushed and I-75 is crazy on weekends!

QOTD: Are you doing anything new this year? And, if it is your first trip, do you have a "must do" at each park?

Hi me again... wow.. its taking all day to catch up. Been having health issues. Remember the heart palpitations I mentioned last week. Well, I saw a cardiologist yesterday and she hooked up up with a holter monitor and on Monday I am having a nuclear stress test and echo cardiogram. I am only 17 days out and there is so much to do.

I just got my son a ticket for the ME. He is arriving by car not plane at the airport to ride it though. He's in college in Florida, but doesn't have a car. He can get a ride to MCO. I almost completely forgot about mousekeeping. we only need a couple envelopes because mousekeeping doesn't come daily to DVC.

I got my disunplugged t-shirt in the mail. Yeah, just in time so I can bring it.

Yesterdays QOTD about Tours. None for us. My DH and DS did the Segway Tour of Ft. Wilderness in 2009 and LOVED it. They highly recommend it. DD8 wants to do behind the seeds, so as soon as she's old enough!

We are doing a few "new" things this trip. We're going to do American Idol at DHS. We're eating at Kona and Trails End, and then going to Chip & Dale's campfire sing-a-long. We're snacking at the new Werther's store.

Must-do's, which sometimes don't get done include Small World, Dumbo, Soarin', Test Track, Just read in Kathy Werling's blog that Pooh is closed for rehab... so that's out, but tea cups should be back up and running. Oh, and Kali River is a must-do for me but I skip it if its too cold. you will get soaked... but I LOVE that ride.

I'm not even checking my ADR's online. I have my confirmation numbers and that's what I need. I know the online system is screwy! I gotta go run and get changed, take pick up DD8 from school and head back to the cardiologist to turn in my holter monitor. I'm tired of it. And I hosted a jewelry party last night and had to be wearing it. One lead was right where necklaces hit. Made try-on a challenge.

Have fun for all those leaving now!! :dance3:

Mindy good luck with all the heart testing, your one up on me I have never been given a holter monitor ?:confused3 to take home but of course I have been on all types of monitors during my many hospital visits.

Pooh is scheduled to reopen on November 14, so you should be good! :cool1:

QOTD - We have never resort hopped and so we are doing that for the first time this trip. It mainly centers on me wanting to see the lifesize gingerbread house and carousel, but hey whatever works :lmao:

Checking in from POFQ. We arrived yesterday morning. It rained yesterday afternoon and early evening but we were able to get to our Le Cellier reservation. Rain possible again today and just about certain for tomorrow. Heading out to Ohana soon.

Wow, that is so wierd. Yes, I asked about the carriage ride at Ft. Wilderness (not PO) and they said they had openings from 5:30pm - 9:30pm (I think it went until 9:30pm).

My ressie is for 4 people -- 2 adults, 2 kids.

I called 407/WDW-PLAY.

I am officially on vacation!!! :cool1: Just finished up my last day of work before we leave!!

:banana::banana::banana: 3 DAYS until DISNEY!!!:banana::banana::banana:

wahoo:banana: enjoy the rest of your packing I pulled a bag out and started putting a few things in like wipes, swimmies, light sticks, toiletries, princess dresses. I won't start the real clothes packing until next week when I can see the weather a little closer in time..I did buy an adorable pair of camoflauge capris and 4 cute tops from INC...they were 70% off and I had a 25$ off 100 coupon. I couldn't resist;) and I got a cute Jack Skellington bag for the parks.!!
Mindy, glad to hear you got the holter monitor. hopefully it is nothing to worry about but it is always good to get a baseline reading...this coming from a cardiac nurse

You can add us, we just planned a very last minute trip! Nov 9-14 at CBR.

YAY Shelly!! I can't wait to be done with work for a bit. (I will end up off for 11 days!!!!)
Jessica- If you would like me to send a little something to your girls, I would be happy to do it. I'm sure they are really bummed. If you do, just PM me your address.
It stinks that it is raining, I hope it all clears out before I get there!
Good luck getting ready to all of you leaving this weekend. ENJOY!
