The food & wine gift cards are the same as regular ones except they just have a F&W Logo on the front and are attached to one of those key chain type wristlets (not sure if they have a name), if you have money left over on the event ones you can use the remainder anywhere that takes gift cards.
Using Gift Cards for food is a good idea, I might have to think about that, I was thinking I would have to carry a lot more cash this trip to make it easier when we all eat together, last year it was a disaster since we all basically were using our debit bank cards so come time to pay the check usually DH picked up the tab each time which was ok since Ddil got the CM discount at TS Restaurants and Stores and had gotton us into the parks for free.
This year we will be traveling with my other DS and Ddil and they are suppose to pay for there half, we are already paying for the Villa which is not cheap even with the 40% so dining should be interesting.
I love my DS but he can be the cheapest person you ever met, his favorite saying is " Money is tight"
I bought several $500 WDW gift cards and used them to pay for the trip. I got them at our local grocery store which offers fuel perks. So in the process I have earned hundreds of dollars in free gas!! And, I use my Disney Visa to purchase them, resulting in Disney Reward Dollars!! So, when DH asks for the final total on this trip I can take off all that money and then it won't sound quite as bad!
No, I totally understand about your DS & DIL. You are paying for the room, they are adults and can pay for their own food! Maybe just ask for seperate checks before you even order!
the deciding factor will be when we drive to the hotel (which we are paying for) the day before since DS is driving to and from there being how DH doesn't like to drive after dark anymore and we have a late flight home (getting old sucks )If DS runs true to form he will pull into a gas station to get gas after picking us up on the way (hint hint)
