Probably the most special moment for my kids was when they were both chosen for the Jedi training Academy in Jan 2009. (That was back when they chose out of the audience.) That was right about when they were at the height of their Star Wars obsession! They still love it, but were CRAZY about it then. We went to 3 shows before they were chosen. And since they both got chosen together was so awesome and fun for them!

I'm so glad they changed it to a line. The first time we went it was Star Wars Weekend (that was back before they offered Jedi Training all the time). Our boys were 4 and 6 at the time and CRAZY for Star Wars. (Actually they still are! We are going to the Star Wars Symphony on Sunday!!! :)) ANYWAY, the boys were holding hands and waving to be picked. DS6 was picked and DS4 looked up at me with big tears in his eyes... I became one of those moms I hate :guilty: and whispered to him "Go with him, quick!". They went together and they let them both do it! :yay: It was wonderful! We got great video of both of them up there together. :cloud9:

QOTD: What magical moments have you or maybe a child experienced while there at WDW?

For My Family it was the year we stayed at YC, it did not start out very magical, when we arrived our room was not ready but the CM said it would be shortly so we went over to Beaches and Cream and had lunch then returned, but the room still was not ready so off we went to Epcot returning a few hours later (this was before they texted you that the room was ready).

It was past normal check-in time but you guessed it our room was still not ready, but the CM told us they were upgradeing us to a Conciere room(CL now) for our inconvience  We walked in the room and there on the table was a large fruit basket with all types of goodies in it, the room was lovely and overlooked the front of the resort and my two DS really loved being able to use the room keys in the elevator to access the Conciere Lounge. I loved the turn down service with chocolates on the pillow and the lil notes left by the CM each nite, not to mention the daily call from the conciere to see if we needed anything.

Now that sure is magical! :cloud9:

We haven't been to it since they started the line thing. How does that work? Do you have to line up super early and then they take the first however many in line? I don't think DS11 will want to do it again, but DS8 might.

In May 2008 DS11 (8 then) was chosen. DS8 (5 1/2 then) took it really well and didn't cry or anything. So when we went in Jan 2009 I was determined to get DS8 up there! DS11 was prepared to give up his spot to his brother if only he was chosen again.

I'd like to do the pirate tutorial thing at MK. I think they would love that! But we never seem to time it right to see it. Maybe this year! pirate:

QOTD: What magical moments have you or maybe a child experienced while there at WDW?

My kids always seemed to get picked for "Turtle Talk with Crush." One time BOTH kids were chosen to talk AND my DH was the "parental unit" that was questioned. But the most memorable time was the very first time my DD was chosen (when she was 6). She asked Crush what he liked to eat & he answered her. Then he asked her what SHE liked to eat & she said in the microphone (loudly & proudly) "FISH!" The whole audience roared w/ laughter & Crush was very nervous. :rotfl: It was great!

We've had so many magical, memorable moments...DS was almost 3 when we first dined in the castle. Snow White kissed him on BOTH cheeks & he fell in  We were give some pixie dust at Typhoon Lagoon when a CM gave us a free locker, with 2 refillable mugs & 2 towels (then we got the key deposit at the end of the day!) :woohoo:

I think one of the most memorable times was when we took my Mom (in 2008) before she was diagnosed w/ cancer. I cherish those memories together. I always send postcards home "from the characters" while we're still in Orlando. (I fake sign everyone's autographs) When Mom got home & found her postcard in the mail, she called me & said "This is so great! I don't know how they sent me a card, Ang!"

Morning ladies! First off, blessings to all of you dealing with cancer...Keep us posted..we will be asking God for a miracle for you! And  to those who have lost someone.
Well...say a prayer for me...just sent my ds11 off to church camp this morning. He has never been away more than one night! He is a homebody!! It might be hard on both of us! My oldest leaves and never looks back and we miss him..but know hes having a ball. This one is different...he was hesitant to go when they brought it up, but now seems excited. Hoping he doesn't get homesick...or I get freaked out! I am sooo thankful to see my ticker in the 3s!! Still borrowing the laptop...mine should be home today or tomorrow!

You just made me remember one!!!!

When our youngest was 4 he was in LOVE with Cinderella. :lovestruc So we did dinner at 1900PF. She must have seen the look in his eyes because she walked right up to him first (past his 6yr old brother), took his hand, said "My Prince has arrived!", and kissed him on the cheek. I thought he was going to faint! :cloud9:

Then later in the trip we were at the late Spectromagic parade back in Frontier Land. There was noone around us, so we got a lot of attention from the characters in the parade. As she passed by in her carriage I said "There she is Cameron!". It was the same Cinderella! I don't know how, but she must have remembered him! She leaned out of the carriage and blew him a KISS! He pretended to faint and just lay there on the ground smiling. We have a wonderful video!!! :cloud9:

This trip he'll be 9 and much too old to kiss a princess! ;)

Good morning! We had some wicked storms here last night, the thunder was shaking the house! Guess we really needed the rain though.
I am thinking of buying one of my AP vouchers today (I read that they have a price increase first week of Aug, so I want to get a couple before they go up). I didn't realize you could buy a voucher and activate it when you get there, we always buy them on our first day so they last as long as possible.
Anyone else buy AP's and have any useful info for me?

Are you aware of the payment plan option for APs? That is what I will be doing for most of ours.

that is such a sweet memory for you and your Mom :goodvibes

I love doing the postcards too...

during our June 08 trip...we missed my BFF's son's 1st b-day so we sent home postcard (really) signed by Mickey and then my Mom wrote Happy 1st b-day name on it....

my BFF was so floored, at first she really thought Disney had sent it

and to TruBlu I love the Princess/son stories too...

my DS is autistic and had just about his fill of waiting for the Princesses w/ us (my other 3 are girls) Belle was the last Princess we saw that night (in toontown)...she could tell he was miffed and bored, but noticed he had a book w/ him...and stuck up a great conversation w/ him about books and reading...it made his night :goodvibes

Thank you for the prayers :cloud9: God has already given us a miracle by Mom still being alive! Her liver is eaten up w/ cancer but still functions as if it were a normal liver!!! That is a complete miracle. :goodvibes

I just went to church camp w/ my DD9 last week. It was WONDERFUL! There were a couple of homebodies with us, but they did great :woohoo: I guess they had to see that it wasn't going to be like boot camp :rotfl:

I have tons of pics of DS8 with Minnie Mouse (almost 9). Kissing her, hugging her, telling her he loves her, giving her cards, etc. from over the last 5 years. I keep thinking he will be embarrassed one day, but it never happens. He still loves her! :lovestruc

Our first trip on the Disney cruise my DS was 4 and he was in love with Cinderella. All the characters come out at different times and take pictures and my older DS said there was no way he was waiting in the Cinderella line. My younger one insisted and we were the only one in line with only a boy (every other boy had a sister with him). He gave her a big hug and called her his girlfriend for a long time after that! So cute!

We are in!!!

Nov. 6th -12th...Wilderness Lodge.

WL is kinda new to us. We stayed there 1 night because we got there early and wanted to just stay there a night. We loved it but never stayed there for the length of our vacation, so I'm unsure about buses and such. I'm still very much looking forward to it. So glad to be staying somewhere "new". POR is usually are home resort.

We got the FD pin that included blackout dates so we booked with that.

Is is Novemeber yet???

:welcome:

November is getting here!! :woohoo:

I just noticed...4 months today! :cheer2:

Knee surgery this Friday. I wasn't really too worried when I found out I would have to get this done, but now that it's coming down to the wire... :scared1:

That is wonderful! :lovestruc There is a little boy in my Sunday school class who is autistic. We have bonded over Star Wars! :goodvibes The change in his reaction to me was amazing when I started talking SW to him! :)

:lmao: I love it! I have to threaten to do that!!! :rotfl: (Nothing makes me happier than torturing my children! ;) We have a HILAROUS video of DS11 this year at a swim meet. He dove in and his goggles came off. Well... he just CAN'T get water in his eyes, so he swam 50 meters with his eyes closed! First he would hit one rope then he'd hit the other. He swam the enitre pool in a zig-zag and STILL beat somebody! Anyway, when we got home DH set the video to the Benny Hill music (Yackety Sax). It is SO FUNNY! Now I constantly tell him I'm going to put it on facebook! :lmao: It will be good to have videos to use against BOTH of my kids now!!! :rotfl2:)
