Nov. 13-21st. Split stay at BLT and AKV. Our first trip HOME as DVC members.

Awesome NEWS!!!!! My TA sent me a message, we saved ANOTHER $300! We were booked on the first pin that came out for Nov, that was 40% off until the 23rd of Nov. All our other pins have been blacked out for the remainder of the week. Today, I got a pin code for FREE DINING! And guess what the dates for ARRIVAL were? Up till the 23rd! Yeap, we got free dining and save $300 more then we would have with the 40% off. Now, if we could get 40% off for the entire week, it would be a much better deal. But this works! Yipeeeeee!

hello everyone! Hope summer is treating everyone well!! under 4 months!! don't want to wish summer away but can't wait for our trrip!!

To Trublue and Weheartmickey - my thoughts and prayers go out to you. Cancer just down right stinks!

I did some pricing this weekend. Let's just say that it's a good thing we have 3 years to save for it!! So if I can just get DH onboard with the plan and then get myself past the price, we will be good!

I know.. but we were lucky.. my FIL paid for it all! AND get this.. we had TWO BALCONY rooms! yes, you heard that right... we had 2 joining balcony rooms, the boys had their own room.. I can't tell you how nice it was to be able to rest and relax with dh in our own room once the boys went to sleep.

I'm leaving you guys!

I got a pin for free dining in December, so I switched back. We are still staying at AKL, but we'll be there for 8 days instead of six - and it cost $300 less. SO - I'm saivng $700 total from my first reservation!

I might still hang around here on this thread, too. There are so many nice people going in November.

trublue.. you will love December too! We went the 2nd week in 2009 and it was awesome!

Thank you. We truly did treasure every extra moment we had with our Mom. You know when you hear those words "stage 4" most immediately assume there is very little time, but my Mom never had that attitude and I truly believe that is why she was able to fight it for so long. She was an amazing example to me and I just hope I can be half as good of an example to my own kids.

QOTD: What magical moments have you or maybe a child experienced while there at WDW?

We haven't had very many, atleast that involved a CM. New Years, we were in the longest line ever for the Speedway (dd2 insisted!) and the CM over heard DH and I talking about how he had been in Iraq just 72 hours before and now he was standing in MK. It was kinda a surreal moment. He came up to DH, shook his hand and said come with me. He was standing by the handicap entrance.... We followed him and he took us right up to the front of the line and put us in the cars. He told a few of the CM what was going on and they all said Thank You and one even saluted him. It was really sweet! For the rest of the evening, if we went past the Speedway and the CM was at the gate, he waved us in. The pride and respect the young guy showed my DH was amazing.

Awesome stories. This one brought tears to me eyes. How special that must have been!

Good morning! We had some wicked storms here last night, the thunder was shaking the house! Guess we really needed the rain though.
I am thinking of buying one of my AP vouchers today (I read that they have a price increase first week of Aug, so I want to get a couple before they go up). I didn't realize you could buy a voucher and activate it when you get there, we always buy them on our first day so they last as long as possible.
Anyone else buy AP's and have any useful info for me?

What magical moments have you or maybe a child experienced while there at WDW?

for us:

my DD Bekah has been the luckiest...on her 6th b-day w/ her twin brother
(2005)they got to ride in the front of the monorail (recieved honory pilot licenses) were serrenaded on a bus ride and allowed to sit in the driver seat (parked of course) for pictures and honory driver licenses...got a very cool free paw print cupcake and trading pins from a CM at Pizzafari

in 2008 her and her siblings were given free popcorn for spreading the magic by passing out some extra glow bracelets to other children around us while waiting for Spectro

as well she and her brother were selected to be part of Jack's crew during the Pirate tutorial


last yr (2009) she helped open an ice cream stand in AK, drive a jungle cruise boat and was picked by Sergio in Italy to accompany him in the show

Wow your kids have had some pretty special things happen to them!

Probably the most special moment for my kids was when they were both chosen for the Jedi training Academy in Jan 2009. (That was back when they chose out of the audience.) That was right about when they were at the height of their Star Wars obsession! They still love it, but were CRAZY about it then. We went to 3 shows before they were chosen. And since they both got chosen together was so awesome and fun for them!

My DS6 was also chosen our last trip in Oct. He was the last one picked! His older brother was holding him up as high as he could and the guy pointed to him and said "the little one who can levitate". He was so exctied and really enjoyed it (I remember when my DS11 was about 5 we tried 3 times and he never got picked and cried every time!) I'm glad they switched it to a line!

Wow what a great question! I have had so many wonderful experiences at WDW it is hard to choose. I will give you two things that come immediately to mind.

For us one would be the day we received dream fast passes for AK. The other would be the night Fort Wilderness transferred us to a cabin for two nights at the same rate I was paying for a campsite, because it had stormed and everything we owned was soaked, was pretty darn magical as well!!

Disney is always so magical it is hard to pick!!

are you on deluxe dining w/ all those TS ressies?

I think your picks are great and some pretty great times...shouldn't be too crowded overall...but doesn't leave much time for touring...I always figure on at least an hour per TS ressie...maybe it's quicker when it's just 2 adults...

but either way you have some good eats coming your way...don't forget to figure out your tip for those places...(CRT is included) I like to figure out in advance and then place the tip in a little decorated enevelope...that is generally the only cash I bring into the parks...of course you can charge it back to your room...but I think cash is a nice touch.

For My Family it was the year we stayed at YC, it did not start out very magical, when we arrived our room was not ready but the CM said it would be shortly so we went over to Beaches and Cream and had lunch then returned, but the room still was not ready so off we went to Epcot returning a few hours later (this was before they texted you that the room was ready).

It was past normal check-in time but you guessed it our room was still not ready, but the CM told us they were upgradeing us to a Conciere room(CL now) for our inconvience We walked in the room and there on the table was a large fruit basket with all types of goodies in it, the room was lovely and overlooked the front of the resort and my two DS really loved being able to use the room keys in the elevator to access the Conciere Lounge. I loved the turn down service with chocolates on the pillow and the lil notes left by the CM each nite, not to mention the daily call from the conciere to see if we needed anything.
