I just noticed...4 months today! :cheer2:

Knee surgery this Friday. I wasn't really too worried when I found out I would have to get this done, but now that it's coming down to the wire... :scared1:
I have a tip for you... If you are going to be on crutches, get a backpack to carry stuff around. I had an ACL reconstruction several years ago. I was on crutches for WEEKS, and it took me the longest time to realize I could carry stuff around in DS's backpack. :goodvibes

Don't forget to add us to the list! We just hit our 4 month mark today and I'm so excited!! :cool1: However, we did make one change when the FD offer came out. We were originally staying at CBR but with the QDSP because we had some problems with temper tantrums from our DS last year when he was hungry but it wasn't time for our ADR. So we decided to give the QDSP a try this year instead. When the FD offer came out, we decided to switch back down to POP so that we could keep the QDSP (well that and my DD whose birthday we'll be celebrating that week had been begging to go back to POP. Never could get her excited over CBR). So we're still going Nov 14-20, but we'll be at POP instead of CBR. :sad1: One day I'll get my chance to stay at a Moderate!!

What magical moments have you or maybe a child experienced while there at WDW?

I just had to answer the QOTD. My most magical moment that I have personally had was when we took our kids on their first trip in Aug 2008. We walked into our very first park, MK, and right at the front near the City Hall was Daisy Duck. This would be my DS's first chance to see a character (he was 2 at the time). I was a little nervous about him being afraid of her and wasn't sure how he'd respond. But the look on his face the moment he saw her was truly a magical moment. His jaw dropped and his got this HUGE grin on his face. He didn't run over to her but just stood there and watched her for a moment. It was so sweet that I started to tear-up. We went over to the line and he very patiently waited his turn (which is a huge thing for this kid - he has NO patience). And when he finally got to the front of the line, he took off running and threw himself in Daisy's arms. Gave her the biggest hug ever and didn't want to let go. That was absolutely one of my favorite Disney moments ever. It all became so real for him at that moment!! :cloud9:

OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your experience sounds EXACTLY like our first experience with ANY character!!! How crazy! It was our very first day in WDW & we chose to go to DHS (MGM back then) & the very first character we saw was Daisy Duck. My DH hurried to get in line while I rushed into the "hat" to buy an autograph book (we were such newbies!)

I cannot describe the sweetness of my DS2 very first moment with a character. Brayden just kind of "rubbed noses" & snuggled with her. It was precious! He did NOT want to let go of her. :lovestruc I will HAVE to find the picture to post. :goodvibes I just read your post to my DH & these were his exact words, "Did you write that?" :rotfl: So funny how similar our DS2's moments were. :love: Thanks for the reminder! I had posted about memorable moments before & completely forgot about this one. :cutie:

I'm having a meniscus repair done on my left knee, according to the surgeon I should only be on crutches for a few days, but I don't know if that's true or not. Good idea about a backpack!

Hi all! I just wanted to pop in to say hello and to see my ticker! I don't have time to read the last few pages as thoroughly as I want to, but I did notice that you were discussing 40th bdays, and DH is going to turn 40 on Dec. 3 when we are at Disney! This way he won't feel so over the hill!

I have all of my ADRs done, so what do I have to plan next? I have to hook up my flights with Magical Express, pre-purchase the photo CD, shop at Garden Grocer, double check the opening and closing times at all the parks, double check closures/rehabs -- what else???

I make a colored index card for each day. I list our ADR#'s, parade times, park hours, etc. Anything we might want to remember that day. Then I take them with me to the parks. :thumbsup2 Last year I even made a card of snacks I wanted to try in each park. It made me remember to try a very yummy pretzel in MK. :goodvibes

Nov. 11 - 16 at Pop for free QSDP with me, dh, my aunt, and grandparents. We will be enjoying the 11/12 MVMCP, glad we get to enjoy the last weekend of food and wine - only wish we were going to be there early enough on the 11th for Rick Springfield.

Just noticed I have Nov 9-17 - should be 9-16 on the first page.

Anyone else doing the "4 months from right now" thing, too?

(4 months from right now, we'll either be back at WL after Fantasmic!, or over at MK)

You're welcome! :hug: I always have to laugh at the posts by people who swear kids younger than 5 shouldn't go to WDW because they can't enjoy it or whatever. Personally, that was the most magical trip ever simply because of my DS's reactions to everything - getting to see all the characters he knows and loves from TV, being mesmerized by all of the shows, etc. The magic was just so REAL to him! And it was so much fun to watch. He may not grow up remembering it, but his momma always will! Plus, I have the pictures to prove it! :goodvibes Now if I can just find the picture of his face lighting up when he saw Daisy Duck to post here...

We are in!!!

Nov. 6th -12th...Wilderness Lodge.

WL is kinda new to us. We stayed there 1 night because we got there early and wanted to just stay there a night. We loved it but never stayed there for the length of our vacation, so I'm unsure about buses and such. I'm still very much looking forward to it. So glad to be staying somewhere "new". POR is usually are home resort.

We got the FD pin that included blackout dates so we booked with that.

Is is Novemeber yet???

You will LOVE WL ::yes::

Yeah:woohoo::woohoo::yay::yay::cool1::cool1:

The Free dining email just arrived!!!! Now I need to figure out if its a better deal!!!!!

I got the free dining PIN email earlier today. It includes my dates that were blocked out for FD. But for us for this trip the 40% off PIN is a better deal.

Oh yes!
I always do this. I say to DH and the boys -- In X months from right now we will be doing this, or going there, or on our way to whatever!! And each time they look at me like I am crazy! :crazy2:

:rotfl:

That would have been our case, if so many of our days weren't blacked out on the 40%! I keep hoping that at some point they open the 40% to all the days on my trip. But being a holiday, I don't see it happening. So, Free Dining it is! Any discount is better then none!

And.... it did the impossible! It put us right at $5000! If not for tax, we would be under! Once we hit $5000, DH kinda blanked out and went to his happy, imaginary place where we were only paying a few bucks to go! LOL

Knee surgery this Friday. I wasn't really too worried when I found out I would have to get this done, but now that it's coming down to the wire... :scared1:

Good Luck with your surgery! You will be up bouncing (okay, maybe not bouncing!) before you know it! ;)

Just remember, don't over do it. Don't begin to rely on your crutches. And remember to do PT PT PT PT PT!

I love the colored index card idea. That will definitely give me something to do between now and then!

The park schedule has all that. There is also the weekly park schedule overview that lists all the parks. Not that your index card is a bad idea.. its a handy go-to. But I'd lose it. I can imagine it now falling out and getting run over by a bus!;)

I have only a few ADR's so I think I might stick my confirmation numbers in my cell phone. I have one of those new touch screen jobs with lots of features. Its a Samsung Reality.

Thank you. :) As long as I'm bouncing by November I'll be happy.
