So glad to hear that your DH is now home. I hope all goes well with the doctors. Yes, I agree that getting old bites.

I'm glad to read that all seems to be well. Hopefully the kidney stuff being off is just due to dehydration. You will both be in our prayers.

Im a lil late but glad to hear he is home. You all will be in my thoughts and prayers.

So glad to hear that your DH is now home. I hope all goes well with the doctors. Yes, I agree that getting old bites.

Thank You all so very much

All is well at least for now, DH is home the Cat scan and most of the blood work they did showed nothing except for some test that has to do with kidney function the er doctor told him to call his dr tomorrow that one of his meds might need to be changed but over all it was a combination of the heat, dehydration and his epilesy oh and he had to get a tentnus shot because of the cut to his knee when he fell.

One good thing may have come out of all this, DH was suppose to retire this past January , then he pushed it to July then to next January but he now says he thinks he might just put in the papers now :) He finally sees he is not young enough to keep up the pace he has been doing for the past 37 years

Thank you both for the kind words -

The kidney thing worries me somewhat since I have to go Friday for a renal ultrasound after seeing a specialist when one of my recent blood test was not good

Getting old bites :rotfl2:

Happy to hear that your DH is home and I hope that everything's going to be ok for you both.

My DH has been doing the postponing of retirement dance for the past couple of years, I'm getting kinda tired of waiting for what happens next. I agree that getting older bites, I've got that knee surgery thing coming up on July 16 and I just want it over with. I know that it's not age related, plenty of younger people have the same problem/surgery, but it just seems like a whole lot of stuff hits at once when you're least prepared.

Good luck with your knee surgury.

My DH could have retired May of 2009 but he said he was going to wait till January 2010, then he changed his mind hearing they might offer a deal ($$$ ) so he decided to wait until July, then someone he works with told him I think for every month you stay past past 35 years you get $20 dollar more a month retirement so he tells me he is waiting till January 2011-- I told him no you can't were celebrateing your retirement when we go to Disney in November

Any way I will be glad if he just does put in the papers now like he said he was going to do last night, if he did not have a job where he works outside and in the elements (he is a letter carrier) I would not be pushing for him to retire but at his age he can not do this for ever not to mention he commutes 35 miles each way every day, so between gas and wear and tear on the car what good is it to keep working for a little extra money each month he will save that amount in gas alone, but you know men they don't listen :rotfl:

So glad to hear your DH is home Sheila and I hope it's nothing serious. And hopefully this will be the little nudge he needs to put in those retirement papers!! :goodvibes

But yes -- getting older definitely bites! ::yes:: :rotfl2:

DH colasped when he got home from work today, fell outside cut his knee etc....I called 911 since he was not coherant any how the emt took his bp and it was 90/50 and he was cold and clamy instead of hot and sweaty if it was heat related so to be safe they took him up to the hospital. I stayed with Dmil and dog DS and his wife are up with DH who is in having a CAT scan right now , don't know if they will keep him or not :confused3
I wanted to go but with my Asthma and the heat wave I did not risk it for fear I would end up in a bed next to DH:lmao:

July is not a good month for me , My Mom and son both passed away in July , well just needed to talk to someone while I wait here to hear what is going on

Thanks for listening

Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family:thumbsup2:lovestruc

I haven't been a frequent poster, but it's been fun reading everyone's experiences and seeing photos of everyone's trips in this forum! It's such a great way to keep excited about a trip that's been in the works for what seems like forever!

I had a couple of questions. I had seen the mention on here before about the blackout dates in November for the Monster Pin and the Free Dining - our dates fall in that period. I've been kind of freaked about that, because I wanted to pick a week that would have low crowd levels. Then I saw someone else mention the golf tournament down there, as a possible reason for the early closing of MK that week and a possible reason for the blackout date. So I'm wondering, is the tournament a good thing or bad thing in terms of crowd levels at the parks? I'm thinking that if rooms are booked up with people going to the tournament (and not the parks), that's got to be a good thing, right?

Also, I've been trying to follow the Question of the Day since I first joined this thread, and there have been a lot of questions for you experienced Disney-goers to answer - any chance a question could be: What is your best piece of advice for a first time Disney vacationer? I'd love to hear your responses! :flower3:

magpomom- I'm not sure about the pins (I never get to use them because we are DVC, which is a great deal in itself). They are also blacked out my week, but i'm sure that is because of Thanksgiving.
As for advice for a first time traveler, ENJOY IT! Don't stress too much about seeing everything, as that is impossible. We have been every year for the last 8 yrs and there are still things I haven't done. Hopefully you'll be able to go back soon though, that makes it much easier to relax, knowing you can do it next time!

Look at my ticker ~ It starts with a 3 !!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

You're gonna love BW.

Coming home after a day in the parks to all that nightlife on the boardwalk is so fun.
It's like the party never ends.

And the laid back relaxing feeling of cruising in on the boat for your mid day break. Checking out the scenery. Just fantastic!.

Be sure to make time to just soak it in. Have an ice cream on the lawn.

Please feel free to post as much as you want and ask any questions you want!! :goodvibes Don't be shy -- We aren't!

I was there the same week last year and the golf thing was going on. Most of our waits at the parks were under 30 minutes! Some much less and some a little more. But the crowds were definitely not bad at all!

Best advice -- Relax, don't try to do everything, take time to take in the little things as well as the bigger more obvious things, and go at your family's pace. And have a great time!! :cool1:

November 10-18th for us!!!!

:welcome:

Hey Guys, quick check in! I am home. I feel like I have been in the gym and done a gazillion sit ups with 100lbs on my stomach, but other wise I am good. I am sure tomorrow will be rough tho. I haven't taken anything stronger then a motrin or tylenol. I get so sick from meds. So I am toughing it out. I would rather hurt then throw up.

I hope your DH is felling better. And I hope the remainder of July is better for you.

Oh and while I was in pre-op I got a phone call from my TA (yes, I had my phone with me in pre-op. I am a iPhone addict! ;) ) that free dining was extended. We couldn't change our dates to make it fit, but we would have gotten a better deal if we could. Did anyone here get the benefits of it?

Im so excited. After a little wigglin' I was able to get free dining and add 2 days to our trip. On top of that saved $800. YAY! Our new dates are Nov. 18-26th at PO-FQ! I cant wait.

Px4- Glad everything went well with your surgery. You must have a high tolerance for pain!

Momof2Disneyboys-As I watched your DS11's video, I had visions of him being the center of attention in his 30s at many wedding receptions.:rotfl: Too cute.

Well, Thurs.-Sat. I will be at an outside City Swim Meet. DS8 and DD13 are swimmers. It's 101 here today and I am so not looking forward to living under a tent for the next 3 days.;)

I am looking forward to doing all that!! :goodvibes I can't wait to get there. :cloud9: We always love visiting the BW, so I am hoping staying there will be even more magical!

Good to hear from you! :goodvibes I know what you mean about the meds, I would rather tolerate the pain than take pain meds that make me ill.

Hope each day gets better for you. :flower3:

Thanks! Yes - he always makes sure to be the center of attention!!

It is in the 90's here again today and so humid it makes your skin crawl. Hoping to get some relief this weekend.

Have fun at the swim meet and good luck to your kids! :cheer2: Try to stay cool!:cool2:
