We always go to DTD one day or night and DS expressed wanting to go during the Festival so I have scheduled it for Fri Morning on the 12th , hopefully the locals will wait until Saturday this year too :rotfl2:
All I want to do is go up in the balloon they have there, it was not running yet last year when we visited in March and have lunch at Fultons and I will be happy
Would love to see the pic of the crowds last year, you might just scare me :scared1:

I really want to do the hot air balloon too! It was up and running in November. But when we were at DTD that Monday it was closed because of high winds. Then when we were there on Saturday the line was HUGE! :scared1:

Hmm, I just thought of something. I wonder if the booking levels during our week have anything to do w/ whatever presumed event is closing MK early that Tuesday.

Thank You ladies! I will be back to update ASAP. I imagine it will be pretty soon. I am currently only scheduled for out patient for a partial hysterectomy. But if something goes wrong -and with my luck it will- they will have to admit me for a few days. My BP hasn't been cooperating, so they may end up keeping me anyways. Hopefully not. But considering I have never in my life had high blood pressure until last week, who knows what will happen.

"See" y'all in a few days!

We're thinking about you today, Jessica. I hope everything went well with your surgery. pixiedust:

Hmm. . . interesting thought. I kind of forgot about that early closing day. . . :confused3

Yes -- thoughts and prayers for you today Jessica. :goodvibes

Yeah it was crazy busy!! But it's not such a big deal when DTD is busy. If I had seen crowds like that at the parks I would have freaked out!!

When we were there during Spring Break DAK and DHS were crowded like that Epcot was crowded but it is bigger so wasn't as bad and I never made it to MK...never going at Spring Break again :rotfl:There were all kinds of neat things going on during the festival at DTD. Here is DS11 enjoying the Dance Party! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ALvZl0XprUc:cool1:

Loved the video it brought back memories of one year my DS(who passed dancing the Macarana over at a bandstand near space mt one night we were there

I am hopeing since we plan on going when DTD first opens the line won't be too bad but I never considered it not working cause of high winds

Hmmmm it crossed my mind it could be closing early due to the CMN since it is the night before the pga tourny starts... maybe private party::confused:

I am also hoping to do the balloon, anyone know how much it costs? We have a balloon like it nearby at the Philadelphia Zoo, but my kids haven't done it in about 5 yrs and the day we did it was foggy so you couldn't see much.
We are staying at SSR and I am excited about how the balloon will add to the view on our side of the lagoon (we always request Congress Park, which is near the walking bridge and request a DTD view, it's awesome)
Hope everyone is hanging in with this heat, it's unbearable!

The last quoted price I saw mentioned for the balloon ride was $16 pp but of course that was months ago so it has probally gone up by now
I am looking forward to getting some nice pics from up in it

You'll definitely be able to see the balloon from SSR!

I think it costs something like $16 for adults and $10 for children (under 10).

This heat is terrible! :sad2: We are hitting mid 90's each day with no end in sight.

I have a few I check on daily. Here of course! :goodvibes And the "Snowbird" thread, there's a group of us that went to WDW in January 2009 and still continue to chat. And the CBR FAQ, CBR pics, BWI FAQ, & BWI pics. That's about it really. I do read a lot on the resort forum - resort reviews and so on. I'd like to stay at each resort someday!

And I read lots of TR's!

DH colasped when he got home from work today, fell outside cut his knee etc....I called 911 since he was not coherant any how the emt took his bp and it was 90/50 and he was cold and clamy instead of hot and sweaty if it was heat related so to be safe they took him up to the hospital. I stayed with Dmil and dog DS and his wife are up with DH who is in having a CAT scan right now , don't know if they will keep him or not :confused3
I wanted to go but with my Asthma and the heat wave I did not risk it for fear I would end up in a bed next to DH:lmao:

July is not a good month for me , My Mom and son both passed away in July , well just needed to talk to someone while I wait here to hear what is going on

Thanks for listening

All is well at least for now, DH is home the Cat scan and most of the blood work they did showed nothing except for some test that has to do with kidney function the er doctor told him to call his dr tomorrow that one of his meds might need to be changed but over all it was a combination of the heat, dehydration and his epilesy oh and he had to get a tentnus shot because of the cut to his knee when he fell.

One good thing may have come out of all this, DH was suppose to retire this past January , then he pushed it to July then to next January but he now says he thinks he might just put in the papers now :) He finally sees he is not young enough to keep up the pace he has been doing for the past 37 years

Thank you both for the kind words -

The kidney thing worries me somewhat since I have to go Friday for a renal ultrasound after seeing a specialist when one of my recent blood test was not good

Getting old bites :rotfl2:

I've only got two (on this site) that I check on a regular basis: this one, and the "Skinny Island" group on the WISH board. I also like reading the dining reviews.

I'm glad to read that all seems to be well. Hopefully the kidney stuff being off is just due to dehydration. You will both be in our prayers.
