I will be going November 20-27. We are celebrating my 26th birthday (November 22), Thanksgiving (at Boma!), and my walking again after almost a year in a wheelchair/walker.

I most look forward to seeing my Dad and Nancy's faces at Disney. Trying to come up with special touches in our budget to surprise them.

We will be staying at Port Orleans French Quarter, and flying down. We have the Deluxe Meal Plan. They know that. What they don't know is they will also experience:

- a Welcome gift basket with the poster and t-shirt that I know they really want

- Pirates and Pals Fireworks Cruise

-Specialty Birthday cake at Narcoosee's (can't pick a theme) to snack on all week

Ok ladies if I missed the QOTD for today, sorry. If not......

What is something you have always wanted to see or experience at WDW but have not got a chance to yet? (Are you planning on doing it this trip?)

1. Stay at the POLY (doing it this trip!) :yay:
2. See LaNouba (doing it this trip w/ our premium pkg!) :cheer2:
3. Let DH play golf at WDW (We're ALL gonna do it w/ him!) :woohoo:
4. Leave the kids at Neverland or AK childcare while we spend the night at the parks/nice dinner. (Don't know WHEN we'll do that!!) :confused3
5. Spend a couple of days at Universal (maybe next trip--in 5 yrs!) :sad2:

Will be going for Thanksgiving this year after it was such a hit last year with my family. Though this year Mom is debating if she'd rather stay at a Moderate, I keep telling her it'd be worth it. We normally stay at POP and i have had the luck and pleasure to also stay at all Moderate's as well as WL, Poly, and YC.

Has anyone seen Toy Story 3 yet? Heard it did $109 million this weekend. My family wants to go, but we are going with friends this afternoon to see Karate Kid, so we'll have to wait until next week. My DS11 really wants to go, which kind of suprises me.
This brings me to a QOTD: What is your favorite Disney movie?
I would probably have to say Mary Poppins.

The original 101 Dalmations, that was the first movie I ever went to see in a movie theatre way back when I was a little girl (7 or 8 in 1961)* with my aunt and cousin. :goodvibes

*I got curious after posting and had to go look up the release date lol

So if I am walking up Main Street towards the castle how do I find this wishing well?

I think the Jungle Cruise at night would be really cool. I'll have to keep that in mind for this trip. Should be easy enough since we turn the clocks back the day we arrive and it will get dark very early.

Walk straight through the center of the castle and just after you exit, turn right and start walking like you are headed to the carousel. It will be right there.

The Jungle Cruise is awesome at night. If possible try to do it during EMH.

Ha! I can actually just pick one for this QOTD! LOL For the longest time it was "Aladdin"! And while it is now in the number 2 spot, it is following very close in the footsteps of my new fav, "UP"! Something about that movie just moved me. It really truly hit at my emotional core. And that is a rare thing for me when it comes to movies! I didn't cry during Marley and Me. I didn't cry when Dumbledore died in HP6 (did reading the book tho!), but when Carl was looking at the photo album at the end and seen Ellies note on the last page, I sobbed like a baby! lol

Not sure if it's OK to post this here or not...if not just delete the post. I've also posted this on the November 2010 cancelled ADR thread.

I'm going to be cancelling a CRT dinner ADR soon. It's at 5:15 on 11/26 for 4 (2 adults and 2 children). Let me know if you want it and I'll cancel it and let you know ASAP.

Favorite Disney Movie:

Live Action: Mary Poppins
Classic: Beauty and the Beast
Modern: UP! (though it may change to Toy Story 3 after Saturday)

QOTD: What is your favorite Disney movie?

Oh man this is SO hard...I have so many favorites for so many different reasons....

like Aladdin...saw at show when my now DH and I officially began dating

Lion King I was working for the Disney store when it came out....

Monsters Inc first Disney/Pixar film took our kids too

Polyanna favorite as a young child....

But I guess if I was to narrow down like CelebratingMagic:

Live Action: Mary Poppins (old school) Enchanted (newer)
Classic: Cinderella/Robin Hood
Modern: Toy Story 3

 still just couldn't come up w/ three

Live Action: The Parent Trap (Hayley Mills)
Classic: Lady & The Tramp
Modern: The Incredibles

This brings me to a QOTD: What is your favorite Disney movie?

Live - Mary Poppins
Classic - Robin Hood (or as I call it... a Movie Disney forgot. I can't understand why there is nothing for this movie beyond the DVD!)
Modern - A Bugs Life (which isn't to modern anymore is it?)

Sounds like a fabulous trip you have planned! :thumbsup2 Congrats on walking again and all the great things you have planned!!

It's definitely okay to post it here. Hopefully someone here will be able to grab it if they want it. Thanks! :goodvibes

QOTD: I am also a fan of the original Parent Trap, classic being 101 Dalmations and modern being Monsters Inc (first theater movie for DD and I cried at the end).

Just got home from shopping! Disney is always on our minds around here -- the kids got 7 POTC books at the book store. :faint: And I got some flip flops and a beach bag for the trip!! Didn't really need the beach bag, but the shoes & bags were buy one get one half off, so naturally I had to take them up on their offer! :rotfl: I have a pair of the flip flops that I got, but wanted another pair just like them in-case I wear the first pair out before Disney. They are so comfortable and light. I tried to find a picture online to show you guys, but can't seem to find them anywhere. . .:confused3

I'm thinking about getting stuff for Disney, too.

Paying for the trip in cash, so everything has to come in stages. But, I should be able to pick up a bathing suit at the end of the summer, and a new outfit in November.

I am really interested in getting a large, easy-to-carry bag for the trip. I was thinking something with a zip top, so nothing will fall out on rides, and with a sturdy bottom, to carry snacks we can't finish, souveniers, etc.

I have most of our restaurants booked:

Raglan Road
Sci-Fi Drive-in Theater
Fantasia Dinner Package
Crystal Palace
The Plaza
Narcoossee’s (Birthday dinner!)
Teppan Edo
Tusker House
Yak and Yeti
Hoop De Doo
Boma (Thanksgiving)
Le Cellier
Restaurant Marrakesh

Thank goodness for the Deluxe Dining Plan!

I still want to book breakfast at Akershus, but no luck yet. We are all going more for a relaxing vacation than to do all the stuff, so I think sit-down meals will help us stay feeling refreshed. I was debating eating at the Rainforest Cafe for our first meal down there. It isn't on the dining plan, but I thought it would be a fun way to kick off the trip. We're going to spend that day in Downtown Disney (beat the crowds, ease ourselves into the week). Any thoughts?

Has anybody else got reservations ready?

Your ADR's look great! :thumbsup2

As for dining in DTD, we are going to be trying T-Rex at DTD for the first time. I love the looks of it, hopefully the food is good!

Lots of us have lots of ADR's -- the list is on the first page of this thread! :cool1:

Saw it this past Saturday. It was great! DS7 and DS16 loved it! It's perfect for the older kids cause it follows his ages/stages to the T (as in all Disney Movies) It's a must:cheer2:

I am hoping to take the kids to see it tomorrow. DS11 isn't sure he wants to go. He's "too cool" for animated movies these days I guess. But I think I am going to make him go because I know he will love it!! :goodvibes

My favorite Disney movie. . . That's a tough one. I'll have to give that some thought!

Oh my goodness! Yea, we had several nights in the TEENS last winter & the water in our washing machine hose even froze up three times. We had to put a portable heater on it for hours for it to thaw out. We had snow days & everything. We LOVED it though!

Isn't that pitiful? We are so desperate to get outta this heat....we look forward to this?!!!:rotfl:

LOVE TS3!!! Of course, I did cry---some friends of ours saw Karate Kid this weekend and said it was so boring they almost got up and walked out--they thought it was a total waste of $$$--of course, everyone is different...I hope you like it! If it came down to a choice tho', I would always pick a cartoon! Ha!!
