Ok ladies if I missed the QOTD for today, sorry. If not......

What is something you have always wanted to see or experience at WDW but have not got a chance to yet? (Are you planning on doing it this trip?)

Since I was a lil girl first going through the Contemporary I have wanted to stay there. Thus far, it is still out of my budget, but I am sure one day.... :goodvibes

More recently I have been wanting to try out the segway tours but I am waiting until the kids are older so we can all do it at one time.

Great QOTD!

I always wanted to see the Christmas decorations & Osborne Lights and finally got to do that last November! :santa:

I have always wanted to try a deluxe and am finally going to this November!! :yay:

And this one is minor, but I always hear about a wishing well somewhere beside the castle, but always forget to look for it when we are there. I really want to remember to look for it this time! :goodvibes

Magic of Animation. I always hear people talk about how fun it is, but we never seem to make it in.

And I want the girls to finally go in the Tiki Room. We have tried for years to go. Every time, we miss the show and they never want to wait for the next. This time, we are going to wait!

As for me, I am looking forward to... Getting to see Animal Kingdom Lodge and eating at Jiko! For some reason, that resort has screamed at me to visit since it has opened. But we have never went there to stay or eat. Nov, that will change. And maybe with that visit, I will be able to decide if the location is worth it to stay on our next trip!

I have actually seen the wishing well several times! It has the mice and cat (among other things) carved into it. You will love it and it is a good picture spot.

My hubby keeps wanting to do the Tiki Room also, but like you we never seem to have the time. I am hoping we can slow down a lil more this trip, so maybe we can get it in this time.

I always wanted to ride the Jungle Cruise and HM at night. Also, we want to see Osborne Family lights, it starts on our last full day. My mom and I have been to MVMCP, but my husband and kids have not.

I have always wanted to stay at the Monorail Resorts but the timing (money wise and/or because of traveling party) just never seemed right(DH does not like the Poly after we went there one year for the aloaha dinner CR he thinks is too noisy, and when I stay at GF it has to be in the Main Building with a view of the Castle-yes I am picky  This is not the Year for that dream :sad2:

The second thing I have always wanted to do was visit WDW at Christmas and see all the decorations and attended the MVMCP and this year we will be doing that, I so have my fingers crossed they put up the Gingerbread House early this year too !

We've done the Magic of Animation a few times, but never stayed for the Animation Academy for the drawing class. I want to do that this time!

We did the Tiki Room on our very first trip and none of us have ever been interested in doing it again. :confused3 Same with the Country Bears.

I have actually seen the wishing well several times! It has the mice and cat (among other things) carved into it. You will love it and it is a good picture spot.

So if I am walking up Main Street towards the castle how do I find this wishing well?

I think the Jungle Cruise at night would be really cool. I'll have to keep that in mind for this trip. Should be easy enough since we turn the clocks back the day we arrive and it will get dark very early.

Whoops I posted this in the other Nov thread, so I'm c&p it here.

I just booked our first WDW trip and used the 40% monster pin. It's good for our first 3 nights but our last 3 nights are inelligible. However, I'm reading that others have had to do 2 different reservations and mine is only 1 reservation. I've tried asking the CM to break down the price for me and she says she's unable to break it down once the park passes, the dining plan and the insurance are included. Does this sound right and do I need to call back and ask about a 2nd reservation?

We are booked at ASMu suites for 11/18-11/24

Playing catch up on the QOTD :)

packing - I started on Black Friday. Yes, last year the day after Thanksgiving. :lmao: The Disney Store had 20% off of everything, even sale items. I put it all away for this November.

things always wanted to do - Cinderella's Royal Table, but I will get to do it this year! Back when they had the Disney Institute (at least I think that is what it was called), I wanted to do some of those, but never had the chance. I would love, love, love to do the Wishes Dessert Party if they continue it. Sit back & imagine it - nothing but Disney desserts as far as the eye can see :cloud9:

hi,
so excited just booked our trip for november, 150 days left, woohoo! we are staying november 19-24th and will be the first time seeing the christmas decorations up! what is the weather normally at that time for orlando? does anyone have any good ideas in how to keep the magic going until its time to go because I have a 5 year old who looves disney?!

DS was 5 on our last trip. Prior to the trip, we watched Disney movies, the vacation planning video and had a countdown calendar. I think the calendar started with school beginning (September) & went up to our trip (November). It had Disney characters on it & he was able to cross off the weeks, then days as we got closer.

What is something you have always wanted to see or experience at WDW but have not got a chance to yet? (Are you planning on doing it this trip?)

1. Have an Adult Birthday in Disney (will be doing )
2. Go on a big family reunion in Disney (one day...)
3. Stay at a Club Level
4. Breakfast at Main Street Bakery (Should be doing on November 13)
5. A "No Parent" trip (oh gosh we'll be the adults on this trip... and I'm still the youngest lol)
6. Drink around the world (going to attempt it... though may need to do it over 2 days)

Question of the Day. . . . .

How early do you start to pack for your Disney trip?

I usually get my suitcases out about 1 1/2 to 2 months prior and start throwing things in them!! :hyper:

I have bought little things and have started a pile (glow in the dark bracelets, Disney Tshirts etc) but I wont start packing until a couple weeks before. I will have to make sure everyone has plenty of shorts, sandals and swimsuits that fit at the end of summer because none of that will be available in Indiana in the stores come November!

LOTS AND LOTS OF THINGS!!! Some new things we are doing this year are HOOP DEE DOO
PARK FARE BREAKFAST
MAIN STREET BARBER SHOP
ART OF ANIMATION STUDIO
There are just so many things to do, you cant possibly do it all in one trip. Of course, we all know that, but those who havent traveled to Disney ever (or in many years) just dont get it!

OH! And my 3 1/2 year old was measured at the Dr. office last week and she is 40" now! She wants to ride Thunder Mountain and I'd love to have all 6 of us ride Soarin this year together so I can't be more thrilled that she hit that milestone! Hooray!

Hey everyone! Just back from the beach and the first thing I do is check in with you guys.
I missed a few QOTD-
Favorite snack- I love the big pretzels and my DS11 and I usually get sushi for a snack at Japan. (I have never seen or heard of a Dole Whip before you guys, but plan on trying one this time)
Packing- Usually 2 weeks before, I always have a pile of the boys shirts set aside because I like to get enough matching ones.
Something I've never done- Watch The Lion King show, my family never wants to do it.

OK sorry bear w/ me I'm behind by 3 days it appears w/ the QOTD...and these are all good so hope you don't mind late answers...

How about a QOTD???

What is your favorite Disney snack? :mickeybar

Mickey Mouse shaped rice krispie treat w/ the chocolate dipped ears...I always bring one home too for that special at home MAGIC

Question of the Day. . . . .

How early do you start to pack for your Disney trip?

I'm technically always "packing" :rotfl: always looking for or purchasing things on sale and new themed shirts to wear...

like most Disers I have a "box" mine is overflowed right now, w/ park essentials, things for the plane, WDW travel things (ie ponchos, pin backs...) and I have a bag full of new Disney shirts for everyone...

I will actually start the packing about 1 1 /2 to 2 months out w/ bringing up suitcases and packing. But the big push will be the 2 weeks prior...

hi,
does anyone have any good ideas in how to keep the magic going until its time to go because I have a 5 year old who looves disney?!

countdown calendars or chains...watch travel channel specials or the free planning DVD or you tube clips. I also do a 10 days of Disney countdown and each night leading up to the day we leave we have special Disney things to do, from a movie, boardgames, look through previous trips scrapbooks

there is a fun Disney family night thread on the boards too for some great ideas

What is something you have always wanted to see or experience at WDW but have not got a chance to yet? (Are you planning on doing it this trip?)

Wow I have alot of things (hopefully) that I'm planning on this trip...

from the simplest of having a Dole Whip...yes don't ask why I have yet to have one ;) to seeing the parks during the Holidays...staying DVC for the first time :goodvibes and celebrating my youngest daughter's birthday at CRT

I really can't wait for this trip!!!!!!

there is more of course that we have never done...backstage tours, mini golf, many restaurants, Club Cool...and more that's why we always come back :thumbsup2

I I will have to make sure everyone has plenty of shorts, sandals and swimsuits that fit at the end of summer because none of that will be available in Indiana in the stores come November!

Oh I'm w/ you on that need living in Chicago area...my youngest two should be fine w/ the clothes bins from the outgrown clothes it is the twins (my oldest) I worry about with growth spurts and all....I figure I had better just do a size up on a few shorts, etc before begining of August...becuase by the end of that month the winter jackets will be out :confused3 try and buy those shorts w/ the adjustable waists :thumbsup2

Oh that is on our wish list too!

Something I've never done- Watch The Lion King show, my family never wants to do it.

Aw man you should go w/out them....IMHO it's the best show on property... LOVE that one!

:welcome: Congrats on your first trip!!

Boy, I don't know. . . I think I would call back and ask about that again. It seems to me that maybe you would need 2 ressies, but I'm not sure. Did you do the math and make sure you actually got the discount for the first 3 days?

No, you only need 1 reservation number if you are staying at the same place. We only have one and our discount is only for part of our stay also.

But you're from southeast Texas, so 80 degrees is pants & light jacket, right? :rotfl: I'm a Texas girl, too, & I'm SO ready for winter already :headache:

what was so crazy---we had a reeeealll winter this last year. the day/night before we left it snowed and was 27 degrees the morning we left....saw wrecks all the way to Houston and they had to de-ice our plane!!! You know that has NEVER happened to me or dh before! So..it was def cool when we got there...Fl had a bit of the cloudy/wind...but by the 2nd day, it was hot! I like to get out of this heat, but I tell ya--packing for Dec and Jan in WDW is such a mix that I have to pack too much...hopefully it'll be easier this year....and with the packing helpers I am buying dh is should be much less stress!;) (Well,,, for me anyway!)

QOTD: I started 'packing' weeks ago. I have been squirreling away little toys and car games for DS/DD and travel size items. We have a long vacation planned next month so I am using my hotel items we'll be using in WDW. I can leave those things packed when we get home.

Yea! Im down to 4mo +!!! :cool1:

Oh my goodness! Yea, we had several nights in the TEENS last winter & the water in our washing machine hose even froze up three times. We had to put a portable heater on it for hours for it to thaw out. We had snow days & everything. We LOVED it though!
