Good Morning !

Congrates on the Double Digits and 100 Day Mark !!!I will be doing my Happy Dance in a day or two but until then I will party with you all for now :dance3:

Yay to those of you who hit 100, it's right around the corner now.
We also have a trip planned for Jan. My Dh and I have been doing a 3 night trip instead of Xmas presents for the last 6 years and this year is the second time we'll be doing disney world (without kids!!).
We've done 2 cruises, Las Vegas, Niagra Falls and Disney. It's a great time to reconnect- my kids have a 4 day weekend in Jan so my inlaws keep them for us. I've got everything planned for that trip, but the airfare won't budge!

We have spent several holidays at Disney and the first time around I felt a bit guilty over not being able to do all the stuff I had been used to doing.

I have now come to the conclusion that time spent as a family is far more important than the tinsel and trimmings and presents that are often discarded before the New Year.

Spending time together at your favorite place and letting them decorate, entertain and feed and clean up after you is truly Magic.

Slightly Goofy

Summerlady~ We are continental also....I saw the price drop $24 last week..then go up 7 yesterday...I am waiting til around 12 weeks out...that is usually when our fares are the best......no, we never have flights from Houston to Orlando for $49 RT either!!!!:rotfl:

We often have flights to Orlando from $59-$95 per way per person. But with it being x 4 or 5 we still just choose to drive as we can drive cheaper then fly. My cousin owns a beach house in New Smyrna Beach (about 5 miles south of Daytona) he lives & works here about 6 months out of the year & spends his off time down there.
The last time we came down for Disney we left home 3 days before check in, stayed at the beach house for 2 days then checked in to Disney. We're not sure what we're doing/where we're staying this year.

Last year I got our tickets for November at the end of July, this time I jumped the gun a bit by buying them mid-July, but I'm not going to check the website anymore, nuh uh, just in case they go down even more. But really, before all the taxes and stuff the fares are $162 round trip each, which is only $81 each way. I'll just think of it that way.

ooohhh!! Thats a great deal...$81 each way....the last few years ours has been around $210-230 RT per person!! That's the lowest...ever!!! When we first went in 2000..they were like $180 RT....I would looove to get $180 again...and NO baggage fees...however did they stay afloat?:rotfl: I really hate that baggage fee business...it's ridiculous! We are a fam of 5...so I am trying to get all of dd's stuff in a carry-on, mine in a carry-on, and what doesnt fit for me will go in one of the boys' suitcases.Dh needs two!!! I am ordering those packing folders from Eagle Creek for us...so hopefully that will help tremendously--especially my hubby--he has NO concept of how to pack!

My sister gave me a guide to disney to read while I get ready for out trip. It's from 2002 and feels like a relic from a time capsule. I wonder if the Birnbaums go on sale in Sept when the new ones come out......

not sure if they are marked down or not...I don't ever remember seeing it happen...unless of course you go to the website or something...have you looked at Passporter? They are really good also! I bought the deluxe and just get the refill pack every year so I can have the pockets and stickers!! Love it!

Main Street Electrical Parade has been extended:

Oh, I hope that it's still there in November, I haven't seen it in years and I loved it.

Interesting. It doesn't say how long it will be extended, does it?

Not to be stupid, but what's the difference between the Main Street Electrical Parade and SpectroMagic? Is one better than the other? We have only seen Spectro. If they are running the MSEP, then are they not running Spectro?

Correct it is one or the other. We saw Electrical Parade in 2000 our first trip ( the only time we saw it ) ... then it changed to Spectro. I would love to see the Electrical Parade again... we are staying at the same place in 2000 (our first trip) we have not stayed there since..and to have the electrical parade again would be so cool!

I am both happy and sad that it is being extended. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Spectro, but the girls have never seen MSEP. Shelley, (I think it was you who asked, lol) the difference is the bulbs and floats. The MSEP is more like light bulbs. I think the music is super corny too. I don't know. I like it. I just like Spectro alot better. But I think I am in the minority.

Now, I do hope the fireworks are extended. While I love Wishes, I am up for new, more exciting fireworks!

Are the fireworks different too???

I guess I didn't really pay much attention to the summer stuff going on since we aren't going until fall. . .

Now, Now! What kinda of Disney Nut can you claim to be when you don't pay attention to all the info! ;) j/k

The fireworks that ran during the summer are the fireworks from the Pirates and Princess Party. I have heard they are as good, if not better then the New Years fireworks. And if that is the case, they must be unbelievable!

No, they don't say how long, but maybe til the end of the year, I hope.

I like Spectro but I LOVE MSEP, I think the last time I saw it was sometime in the 90's. Yes, you're right, it's either one or the other parade, not both.

I even had a cassette tape (That's old!) of the music to play in the car and drive my family bonkers.
