Jenny - I bought my britax marathon for $219 last September and they went on sale the next week!!! I can't remember the exact prices I was seeing on them but it wasn't much cheaper than the $219. MAYBE down to $195, but I don't even think that low. What is the Marathon at BRU? $269? If there is a pattern at BRU that you love or something, I'd use the 20% off coupon personally. I bought a pattern that was ok just because it was a good price ...

I'll have to go back and recap on everything. We were gone this weekend. We went over to the Boca Resort and Club for a few nights, you know, the flagship pink hotel/resort in Boca ;) ... DH's boss is a member there and hooked us all up with rooms and food on his membership for the weekend. It was crazy ... the amount of money walking around that place is just sick. There were six of us with 4 kids ... we had babysitters on Friday and Saturday night so we were able to just go out with the adults. The other wives and I went to the spa on Saturday afternoon. I had NEVER been to a spa. At first it was wierd walking around with all these people in just a robe but the scrub and facial were very nice.

I think I found a wonderful new mommy for Lobo. She has a 4 year old corgi that she is looking for a companion for. Lobo will be her 3rd Corgi so she is very familiar with the breed. I think this is best thing ... I tried contacting our breeder but none of the phone numbers or emails i have for her work and I can't find anything on line anymore. :eek:

I've been looking online and all the patterns for boys seem to have greys and silvers and are not the cheap ones. It seems they have more girl patterns marked down at most stores. The one at BrU is fine for me. We may head out this evening and pick it up then. I was thinking that even with the sale it would probably be about 20% off and I'm betting that there won't be any coupons to go ontop of that price.

I'll try and take pics of the pages one night this week. DH is working Tuesday and Wednesday so it will probably be one of those. I love scrapbooking and card making but lately except for the swaps on the creative boards I only get things done when I go to a crop. Saturdays was 12 hours and I loved every minute of it.

JENNIFER- awesome on the cruise- so no kiddos for the podcast one? yeah! we will ahve to get together and have a drink. oh on the transfers- so we can get a transfer from the dolphin or other hotel to the port? is it a bus/shuttle or what? no advice on potty training. my sister had decided they were not going to force the issue with their boy. they felt they had forced it too soon with their daughter. so they were going to wait until 3 to even start. he just turned 2 and apparently has been going at day care, so she is asking him now and he is going. she got lucky i guess. :wizard:

KELLY- cute outfit!!! he looks adorable! when is the wedding? Will is the ring bearer (along with his 2yo cousin) at my sister's wedding on oct 18th. he probably won't be walking yet, so DH will walk him down the aisle. the church requires anyone under 4 to have an adult walk with them anyhow. we are actually renting little baby tuxes for them! i can't wait to see how he looks.

POLLITO- yum melting pot- i love that place. have a blast! eat some for me!:rotfl: anything chocolate or cheese will do. :rotfl2:

ASH- what is artillery fungus? :confused3 :rotfl:

DMICKEY- great news on LOBO!!! on the spa- wait til you go and all the women are naked! lol.....that's how it is a lot of the time where i have been. a friend and I went to the spa at Caesar's palace when i was like 3 months along. apparently they had free suits you could borrow or wear if you forgot yours and wanted to wear one in the communal spa areas/hot tubs/jacuzzis. these ladies had on these suits that were way too small and almost like thongs. it was hilarious! glad you had a great time!!

They plan on doing some sort of shuttle to port from the Swolphin, but it's too soon to have that info. And the $99 per night rate is awesome!

Some days are good, some aren't with potty training.

I am looking for a really cute Tinkerbelle outfit for Vaylie for Halloween and not really having any luck. The one on Disneyshopping.com for babies looks kinda cheap and flimsy. So, I'm thinking about making my own. But, I doubt we'll even go anywhere, so I don't want to go all out, really. I am so picky about costumes- my mom always made us really great costumes- we never bought from a store, and some of them were so fantastic (I was a bat one year and had umbrella bat wings).

I am so picky about costumes for the same reason. My mom always made the cutest costumes for my sister & I that were way better than anything you could get in the stores! Your bat costume sounds so cute, try to post a picture if you have any available!

Try e-Bay for tink costumes, they have lots of cute things, sometimes even homemade. At this age, they're usually still in good shape since the kids don't go out much in them.

Hi ladies another carseat question. Do you know when the Britax usually go on sale and what the sale price usually is? I have a coupon but its only good through today for 20% off and i'm trying to decide to get the carseat now or to wait until they go on sale.

The 20% off is pretty good, probably won't be able to beat that by much. I know that we got DS's last year, probably around July-August, a discontinued pattern and seat from the prior year, plus and extra $50 off from babytv.com for subscribing to their website. I can't remember where we got the actual seat from though, probably albeebaby.com or babycenterstore.com, with free shipping. I think we paid $219 total for a decathlon, which normally costs over $300.

Make sure to check the clearance section at BRU, sometimes they have seats in discontinued patterns, or with damaged boxes at a reduced price. I know I saw a Britax in our BRU clearance section last week, but I didn't check the price on it since we didn't need a seat at the time.

Yesterday I went down to the Wrentham outlets with my best friend to find an outfit for Brady for her wedding (he is the ring-bearer along with her nephew). We went to the Strasburg Children store (for all of you with little girls....they have the most BEAUTIFUL dresses...check them out online...

Brady will be such a cute ring-bearer! And I agree on the dresses at Strasburg - just another of the many reasons I want a girl next time! princess:

I hope this works out for you & lobo. I know it will be hard to see him go, but like you said, it is for the best. :hug:

POLLITO- yum melting pot- i love that place. have a blast! eat some for me!:rotfl: anything chocolate or cheese will do. :rotfl2:

I think I ate enough cheese and chocolate for everyone hear last night! :laughing: It was delicious, though!

:eek: I'm not sure I could handle that, both myself naked around so many other people and seeing many naked people.

I volunteered at a charity bridal sale before, and there was a communal dressing room and I couldn't believe how many women were changing in front of everyone with no undergarments on! :scared1: Many of them were European/African though, so I guess they have different standards than us prudish Americans. :upsidedow

*********************

Melting Pot was delicious as usual last night, and my sister didn't even bring too much drama. :woohoo: We left Alex with my cousin's daughters, b/c the oldest is almost 14 and is really good with kids. I think he wore them out, b/c Alex was sleeping in his pack n' play upstairs when we got back, and the girls were all almost sleeping on the couch. :dance3:

Alex had his 18 month check-up today, and he's up to 34.5 inches and 23lbs 15oz. The doctor said he gets an A+ for growth and development! :thumbsup2 We also took him for another haircut this afternoon (his 7th already!), so he is looking extra grown up today. Pretty soon he won't be my little baby. :sad1:

I second Pollito's suggestion to check the clearance sections at BRU- that's how we got our 2nd Britax Diplomat for about $100. Box was damaged so it was way discounted, and they let me use a coupon!

Vaylie's 18 month check-up is Friday- Pollito, when is Alex's birthday again? I got a postcard from our Pediatric practice letting us know that Vaylie's Doctor (along with 2 other doctors) is leaving the practice. I was a little bummed- I really like her. But, the other doc we usually see if ours isn't available is staying, so I'm just going to switch to her. However, she's going on maternity leave... Grr! So, Vaylie is seeing one of the docs that owns the practice on Friday- we haven't seen her before but out of the 5-6 we have seen, I have really liked all of them, so I'm not too worried. DH has to take V by himself, though. I'm worried he won't ask my questions.

DMickey- yea! for you and Lobo- he'll probably love having a friend. And the robes at the Spa I could handle, but naked I couldn't do. That's too much. I don't even like seeing myself naked, and I'm sure not going to subject perfect strangers to it!

Pollito- I don't have any pics of the bat costume- I'm sure my mom does but where would be the million dollar question. I do know that she cut up the umbrella into sections and sewed it to my black sweatsuitand when I stretched my arms straight out (even with my shoulders) the wings looked like I was a bat in flight. :cutie: Mom always went all out. She can sew, too- which helps. I am domestically challenged in the sewing/knitting/crocheting department. Now, I'll have to poke around and see if I have any pics from Halloween when I was little.... I'll scan and post if I find some.

Stacy- I tried the link but it was a no-go.

I can't find anywhere to join, either. I guess if you didn't sign up in the beginning you're out of luck... Boo.

Maybe next time.

Hi, just like reading this thread since my daughter is expecting her first baby, inducing her tomorrow. Sent her the link to join you guys, this being her first, thought she would enjoy it but she has had so many problems with this pregnancy, hasn't felt up to much. The web site for the club is
http://disneyworldforum.disney.go.com/recruiting/coming_soon.aspx
See if that works for you and good luck, hopefully my daughter will join once Rory makes an appearance.

ASH- what is artillery fungus? :confused3 :rotfl:

Oh, it's this really great stuff that lives in the mulch here in South Carolina. When it gets humid and around 70 degrees (like most of the year) these spores shoot out this fungus that sticks to your car like these little black sticky dots and they don't come off. It can shoot up to 20 feet in the air. My last car was covered in the stuff because it was bright yellow and it's attracted to brighter objects. It sounds like this sci-fi horror stuff, but it's real. I hate it!

:scared1: :eek: Ewwww and ICK ... I couldn't handle that. I usually don't let my imagination run away from me but that could give me nightmares!!!

The woman that wants Lobo can't get him until Friday and then wants to try it out for the weekend. Makes me a little nervous ... I really need to find him a new home. I am sure that he will be good there though. Gives me a few more days to clip his front paws!!

I'm off work today, but DH is working. I kind of don't know what to do with myself. The weather is really nice!

But, I'm trying not to spend any money, so I don't really want to go anywhere. I need to think up some projects for myself to work on. Organizing this house, for instance. (Yeah- right- that would take weeks).

I started using a new computer program called Diet Power- it is so cool! You enter in what you eat, it caculates the calories, it tells you how many calories you should eat every day to reach your goal weight in a certain period of time, it tracks how much water you're drinking (and lets you know when you need more!!)... It has a free 15 day trial, but I think I am going to buy it- it's a $40 one-time expense to buy the software. It also rates foods for you and gives you a grade for the day- I'm shooting for at least a "B"!

Well just got back from BrU to get the carseat and they don't have the color I want. Agghh well if I want poor Noah to be in a pink and brown polka-dot one then they were all set but no silver ones. I'm not thinking I need to give him a complex just yet. They do have some on the truck tomorrow so we'll call and get one held after lunch. Of course DH has been doing research and now thinks he wants the same one I'm getting so instead of getting him a cheaper one we are going to end up with two Marathons. At least they will last for awhile.

Last night was sad but productive. DH and I went through Noahs closet and folded all the too small clothes into a tote. I already had one tote full and we filled almost two more last night. Yes my little man has a ton of clothes. It was sad to know how much he's grown already though in only seven months. But the good news is there is now room on the racks so I can go shopping. LOL DH didn't love that idea when I said it but he'll need some things once it cools down.

Vaylie's 18 month check-up is Friday- Pollito, when is Alex's birthday again?

Alex's b-day is 2/15/07. His doc was out of town last week, though, so we had to wait until this week for the appt. When is Vaylie's b-day?

Mom always went all out. She can sew, too- which helps. I am domestically challenged in the sewing/knitting/crocheting department.

I am kind of domestically challenged, but mostly in the time area. I actually like to sew, but haven't done it much before, especially now with Alex.

:scared1: Eww! That sounds really gross! What happens if it lands on a person?

Alex has a ton of clothes, too, probably 3-4 rubbermaid bins worth packed away. I love it when they outgrow all their clothes, b/c it gives me an excuse to shop! :yay:

Vaylie's bday is 2/28/07.

And I am loving this diet program thingy!! I put in a goal of losing 15 lbs in 3 months (which seems do-able to me, and not overwhelming). SO, it gave me a calorie budget, and tells me how much of my diet comes from protein, fat, and carbs. I'm getting an "A+" so far today! Even with the small brownie!

You can also earn extra calories by exercising. I haven't tried that out yet.

It calculates your BMI. (Like I wanted to know...)

It gives you a visual graph so you can see your weight loss as you go down. :yay: Plus, there is EXTENSIVE info and help if you click basically on anything.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Vaylie has a ton of clothes, too. Everyone loves to buy her clothes. It's like dressing a little doll. :)
I have lost 2.6 pounds since starting on Diet Power (even though I was really stressed last night and made unhealthy choices). But, today is a new day! And I'm feeling pretty motivated! :yay:
Yeah, congrats!!! Keep it up!
Great job Becky!!!
We started Spencer on rice cereal over the weekend and he hates it. Yesterday. we got some fruit and vegetables and had him try the bananas. Again, he hated it.
He didn't like the cereal with bananas added nor did he like just the plain bananas. I thought it might just be because it's new, but he gets extremely upset when we try to feed him.
At first, he would eat it and just make faces. Then, he started getting mad and would spit the food out. Now, he refuses to open his mouth and if he does, he will cry and spit the food out.
He still reaches for food, but just doesn't want to actually eat anything.
Any advice?
