Bethany - Aww, don't feel too bad. I think we have all done that. All though when it used to happen to me he would be doing that because his leg, up to his thigh, was caught inbetween the railings. Now that's a bad mommy, he was actually hurting.

Ash - I think that sounds like a great idea. I love the colors.

Amber - Thanks!! I love the video of spencer!

Well, we finally have teeth breaking through again. Alexander has been walking around with his fists or a teether in his mouth for over a week. This weekend he was waking up between 1am and 4am and not going back to sleep. I am sooo tired. Finally yesterday I was able to feel the new teeth. They are the top SECOND set of molars. One is almost all the way through and the other is just through. Hopefully by the end of this week they will get through and he will be ok, my mom will be watching all next week while we are on vacation and i don't want her to have to be getting up in the middle of the night every night!!

We are leaving on a cruise on Sunday. I am so excited but I am so scared to leave Alexander. I think, partially, because of the teeth he has been come a super mommies boy. Even when he started with seperation anxiety, it wasn't this bad. He never was very bad but now I can't even go into the kitchen without him screaming and yelling mamamamamamamama ... please tell me its the teeth and he will be ok next week.

Ash- Love the party idea!

Bethany- We've all done it. One time V was having a really bad night and we decided to just let her CIO for a while. Well, she woke up and we thought, "Ok, let's just let her CIO and see if she'll go back to sleep." We waited about 20 minutes, then I went in to check and her foot was stuck through the crib rails and she couldn't get it back out. :guilty: I felt really bad. But, good thing is: they won't remember! :rotfl2: :goodvibes

DMickey- he will be fine! It's teething and it sucks, and it makes them feel super yucky, but once those little buggers pop through, he'll feel so much better. And I'm sure your mom will give him plenty of attention, affection, and love.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
OT- DH took the day off work today so we could go test drive the Mazda5 later. But, he still has class. So, this morning V asked about Daddy because he was clearly getting ready to go bye-bye, and I said, "Daddy has to go to school." And she goes, "BUS?!" :lmao: She got so excited at the thought of seeing a bus. Um- no, sorry kid.
Bethany- Owen is just adorable- love the pumpkin one!!! oh- don't feel bad about him standing all that time.....he will learn to fall down soon too and it is really cute. and before long, he will be just all over the place and won't need help. we have a video monitor, which i do love because i am able to see what he is doing. yesterday morning, he was playing peek a boo by himself with the blanket. :rotfl:
Ash- the poodle thing sounds super cute- i am sure you could do something with shutterfly with her pic wearing the tutu!
and so sweet....last night, i was patting Will's back while rocking him. he startd patting me back too. it was so sweet!
Well the fair was fun, but short lived. I rode with my sister and her fiance (getting married this weekend) and that was a mistake. He was moody. We get there late and then at 2pm, he wants to leave to get home to watch the cowboy game at 3. we hadn't even stepped foot in the midway yet. I wanted to ride the merry go round with Will for his first time. And we hadn't gone in the big hall with all the booths of cool stuff. We had barely done anything. So i was disappointed. I might try and go back thursday afternoon with my cousin and mom. The fair ends this weekend and i have my sister's wedding all weekend, so i guess Thursday it will have to be! oh and poor Will- they had some beautiful garden areas with hay an pumpkins, so we set the kids there to take a pic- it was my niece Ally who is 5, and my nephew, Mikey who is 2, and then Will between them, sitting on a hay bale. i had ally holding Will there and MIkey held his hand. i turn around to get ready to take the pic and plop- there goes Will head first falling into the mulch below. poor kiddo. he wasn't hurt, but just crying up a storm.
we did his 1yo pics and family pics on saturday. he was NOT happy. he had just had a nap, so i was hoping for better, but no luck. The teething thing is just bad. he did not smile for one pic, which is VERY unlike him. fortunately they did pictures at day care professionally last week and the teacher said he smiled for those- so hopefully i can see those this week. I'll post some up once i have them.
here's the invitation i've been working on. i think i'm just going to go to walmart and have them printed out like pictures.
Hi everyone. I'll have to go back and catch up but just wanted to pop in and say we are home. Noah loved the rides at the MK and his favorite was the Aladdin carpets. He loved going up and down. Then he did great on the cruise. I'll post more details and pictures later but wanted to let you all know I was back and all was good. Let me know if you have any specific questions and I'll try to answer those too. We stayed at the POFQ and only went to MK and Epcot and then of course the DCL on the Wonder.
"Becky Feeds Daughter Dirty O's- From the Floor"
"Becky Doesn't Believe in Dishes OR Clothes!" :lmao:
Too funny! :lmao: Alex does the dumping the snacks out thing too. I especially hate when he does it at the mall. :headache: And I hate to admit it, but when we are at home, I have let him pick them up and eat them, b/c I know we are pretty clean. Not so good when we were at the park last week and he was shoveling cheerios in by the fistfull, and grabbing for stragglers that missed his mouth. That was one time I was up and running to beat him to the dropped food before he picked up an ant with it! :scared1:
Isn't it funny when they get excited over things like a bus? Alex loves pointing out cars, trucks, and tractors (construction in mom's sub-division). The other day we got on the freeway, and he just kept saying "car" and "twuck" over and over the first 2 minutes, and I was just thinking what a long ride it would be if he pointed out every car and truck we see. :headache:
Michelle - that's too bad about the fair. We didn't go to ours yet either, b/c people are telling us it's in a terrible neighborhood, so I'm a little worried. It goes for another 3 weeks, though, so I still have time to convince myself it will be ok.
Jenny - welcome back - can't wait to see pics!
************
I took Alex to get his haircut on Saturday, and it is so short! Almost bald - I'll have to post pics later so you can all see - he looks so grown up (and more like his father)! But obviously I think his father looks pretty good. :rolleyes1
Weird - I seem to have lost half my responses in the last post! :confused3
Ash - cute invite and party idea!
Bethany - don't feel bad - we've all done it before and Owen will learn to get down on his own soon enough. Fortunately we never had that problem with Alex, but I did let him CIO once when he had a cold, and when I finally went to check on him, his entire nose was crusted over so he couldn't breath, and liquid snot was running down into his open mouth. :sick: I felt so awful to see my baby so pitiful and sick. :sad2:
DMickey - I'm sure Alexander will be fine with all of grandma's attention, but will be plenty happy to see his parents when they return!
:lmao: They are SOO much alike!! And Vaylie loves tractors, oh my gosh. They like make her day. :confused3
Last weekend we went to pick apples and it's like an hour drive from here. So, MIL and FIL said they'd take the kids in the van, and DH and I rode with BIL and SIL.
They said Vaylie blabbed the whole way and poor Landon couldn't sleep because he'd start to doze, and Vaylie would yell, "BIIIIIIIIIG TWUCK! Wader, wader, boat, boat, BIIIIG TWUCK!! Car, car, yellow, blue, gween, red, Boat!"
:lmao:
Tonight they watched her while we test drove the car (LOVED it, but we're going to go with a used 2007- and save about $5k). Anyway, of course she talked their ears off all night and they have this big light-up pumpkin on the porch. All night long it was, "BIIIIIIIIIIG PUMPTIN" :laughing: She seriously jabbers non-stop all day long.
People wonder why I don't care that she is still addicted to pacis. It's the only time she's QUIET people! :lmao:
Oh, and don't feel bad- I let Vaylie eat the snacks back off the floor, just not the kitchen. We track too much in there and plus with the dog sleeping in there, that floor isn't my cleanest. :rolleyes1 But, anywhere else in the house- eh. ;)
Bec -- Yay about the car -- that is great news. And so cute that Vaylie is a chatterbox! Just like her mom eh??? Kidding!!
Bethany -- love love love the pix of Owen - what a cutie. And poor little Owen trapped standing. Don't worry - he will learn soon enough. When Izzy was learning she at first did this thing where she just fell onto her butt and now she has learned to kind of squat - it is adorable to watch.
Michelle - sorry the fair was a bummer due to not getting to stay long. I am a big fan of always taking my own car -- I hate to be reliant on someone else's whims! Hope you get to go back soon with Will.
DMickey -- have fun on the cruise -- hope Alex's teeth pop out soon!
Pollito - definately post hair cut pictures -- so cute that he looks like Dad.
Disneygirl -- cool that your bro might be moving closer!
Ash -- Love the birthday idea - really cute. Ellery is an adorable baby.
Jenny - welcome back. Isn't POFQ awesome -- it is one of my favorite resorts. Glad you had a good time
Hi to anyone I missed!!
*********************
We are good! Izzy is sick AGAIN! She gets colds from daycare every other week. We switched in August (because our awesome daycare closed!) and Aug, Sept and 1/2 of Oct she has been sick 4-5 times. It is driving us crazy. Luckily, we found a new daycare that looks great and she starts next Monday the 20th---I am SO happy about that!! Hopefully she won't be sick every other minute!
So this weekend is her birthday party. I am so excited. I ordered the food and cake the other day and got her a 4 inch cake of her own that she can eat with her hands. And I bought decorations and a beautiful party dress for her. It is going to be great. We are having about 30+ people. I am really looking forward to it. But I can't believe she is ONE!!! I feel like I was just pregnant. The year has just flown by.
Have a good day ladies!
Nicole
Becky - too funny about Vaylie talking non-stop, Alex is the same way, except when he is sucking his thumb. :thumbsup2 Congrats on finding the new car at such a good deal!
Nicole - Sorry that Izzy is sick again - I read in a book the other day that most kids in daycare will have more than 20 colds before starting kindergarden! Her b-day party sounds like fun - doesn't the time just fly!
Nicole, sorry Izzy is sick again! Daycares are like that sometimes...when I worked daycare full time, I was sick all the time! :sick: I used to tell my 2 yr. olds that we were going to play hospital and I was the patient, and they would diagnose me and then prescribe all kinds of strange cures. They once decided to cut off my feet to cure my sore throat, and another time they said they needed to cut off all my hair to cure a runny nose! :laughing: But I'm glad you found another place for her, and hopefully she won't get as many colds from the new place. And her birthday party sounds like fun!
Becky, hooray for finding a car you like at a good price!!
Jenny, welcome back! I'm glad you guys had a good time!
Ash, the invitation looks adorable! I love it!
And hi to everyone else! I know I'm missing some people...my medicine fog is hazing my brain today.
Well, Owen and I are both sick with this creeping crud and I'm really wishing for a mommy sick day. DH offered to stay home today and use up one of his sick days to take care of us, but I have other kids coming over to take care of so I sent him to work. I did call the parents of the kids coming over, but they said they can't find anyone else to watch the kiddos, so I told them that if they were okay with exposing them to our germs, I was fine with watching them. I won't feel great, but I'm not dying or anything.
But other than feeling yucky, we're having fun getting ready for Halloween and planning our Disneyland trip! :cool1: We've got 3 hotels picked out, and now we're trying to find the best deals. We've decided on the schedule for our character breakfast, Magic Morning (early entry), Mickey's Toontown Morning Madness, and lunch at Blue Bayou, and decided that we'll drive down and back. DH is probably going to fly down to meet us and spend one day with us in the park over the weekend and then fly home so he won't miss any work days.
So for those of you who have taken young 1 yr. olds to MK, how did you do rides? Did your 1 yr. old do okay on the dark rides? Right now Owen doesn't seem to be frightened of anything like the dark, and he thinks it's funny when DH startles him, so it seems like he'd be okay on some of the dark rides, but I don't want to freak him out. I'm guessing he'll be a little spooked by the characters since they're so big, but he'll also be fascinated watching them. He's ridden a carousel and a little train with us before and loved both, so I think he'll like the outdoor rides like Dumbo, but I'm still not entirely sure how he'll do on the dark rides. What did you guys do? Any tips or hints or advice?
Ash- I missed the invites and had to go back to see what everyone was talking about! Those are really cute!
Nicole- She is just like me. It's bad when I can't get a word in edgewise. :lmao: People tease me about it all the time. I hope you like this new daycare, and that Izzy doesn't end up sick all the time. But, that's kids. Germy little things. :laughing:
(you both have to show us some birthday pictures!)
Bethany- I would give you a sick mommy day if I could. Man, that's when it's the hardest. One night DH and I were upping AND chucking (:lmao: ) and thankfully MIL came over and rescued us- she took Vaylie for the night. It's so hard though, because all you want to do is lay around and veg, but you have to take care of a little one. And who knew that took so much friggin energy?! And your trip sounds like a lot of fun!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I took Vaylie to the sitter this morning. Feeling better about it. Finally told my mom that I was going to start using a sitter some days. She took it ok. As good as can be expected from my mom, anway. There was no yelling, crying, or guilt trips, so I'm fine with that. :laughing: But I just explained that since my mom has health issues, it was important for us to find someone else and let Vaylie get comfortable with someone else in the even of an emergency or anything, that way I'm not just dumping V off at some stranger's house, and she seemed to take that explanation in stride.

I told the sitter it would likely be only one day a week and she was fine with that- she's really flexible. She told me if I ever want to drop her off so I can go shopping or do whatever I need to do, that's fine with her. And when I got there she was sitting in the playroom playing with the kids, which I was glad to see. :)

We survived the weekend! It was so much fun. I love getting to go up to camp, but it's a 3 hour trip, so we don't get to go as much as we'd like. Christopher had a blast running around in the grass and picking up every single stick and rock he could find. We brought him out into the woods where DH and FIL were cutting trees so he could watch. He was fascinated by the tractor, and not hugely impressed with the chainsaws. Every time a tree would fall, he'd crack up laughing. Definitely his daddy's boy....:love:

Bethany - congrats on the trip! That sounds awesome!

Michelle - the fair must have been fun. My sister, her boyfriend, and all his family were up there for a while. They said it was a blast.

Ash - the invites are awesome! She's such a cutie.

Hi everyone else! I have to go pretend I'm working....

Here's a little more about the trip and some pictures.
Noahs favorite ride was the Magic Carpets of Aladdin
DSC01831.jpg

He also loved Buzz Lightyear however with the no wait my thumb was sore. I held in the button and he moved the controller around. LOL we somehow scored actual points. This is some fun we had on the TTA
DSC01843.jpg

and at Epcot at Ice Station Cool
DSC01862.jpg

Then it was onto the boat. First we hit the Sail Away Party
DSC01873.jpg

and then before dinner we met Captain Mickey
DSC01882.jpg

The next day we went to Nassau and we only went out for about an hour but he banged on the drums
DSC01892.jpg

and that night at the Pirates Party he saw his first real Fireworks and he loved them
DSC01910-1.jpg

Next up was Castaway Cay and his first taste of the beach and sand. I've not even taken him to a sandbox yet so this was all new to him. He loved it all

DSC01937.jpg

Then we got back on board and let him play in the splash zone. We were gonna go in the Mickey pool but you can't wear diapers in there. Who knew I thought it was the kiddie pool but nope. It didn't matter he loved the splash zone

DSC01951.jpg

And finally we met my man Goofy
DSC01964-1.jpg

We didn't do alot of photopass pictures but some of them are pretty good. The Disney Visa meet -n-Great at Epcot is great and fun since its only one family and a time. We did buy 6 pictures on the ship that were just great but I don't think I'm allowed to scan and share them. When I get them scrapped I'll share the completed pages.

Sorry this is so long but I hope you all enjoy.

Jenny - Looks like such an awesome vacation. Noah looked like he had a blast. How was it cruising with an infant?

Cruising wasn't really that bad. We worked on more of his pace but thats about it. I only saw one show the new Toy Story one but I had already seen the other two so I wasn't that concerned with it. One night at dinner I had to take him out before desert but I think that had more to do with it being very hot in the dining room. We did have a little trouble getting him to sleep since its all one room so we had to turn everything off and let him fall asleep and then we could turn on whatever we wanted.

Jenny- it looks like you guys had a great time on your vacation! Adorable pictures!

Jen- I'm glad you guys had fun camping with Christopher!

I used to tell my 2 yr. olds that we were going to play hospital and I was the patient, and they would diagnose me and then prescribe all kinds of strange cures. Well, Owen and I are both sick with this creeping crud and I'm really wishing for a mommy sick day.

Too cute on the 2 year old diagnoses! And sorry you and Owen are sick - don't we all wish we could have a mommy sick day.

Nicole- She is just like me. It's bad when I can't get a word in edgewise. :lmao:

I took Vaylie to the sitter this morning. Feeling better about it. Finally told my mom that I was going to start using a sitter some days.

Too funny that Vaylie is just like her mommy! :laughing: That's good that everything went well with the sitter and your mom.

We survived the weekend! It was so much fun.

He was fascinated by the tractor, and not hugely impressed with the chainsaws.

Glad you had a good time camping - and welcome to another little tractor fan! :rotfl:

Here's a little more about the trip and some pictures.
Noahs favorite ride was the Magic Carpets of Aladdin

Adorable pictures - it looks like you all had a great time!

*************

And here's a pic of my little thumb-sucker with his new short haircut - though it doesn't look as short in the pic as it does in person. We like to spike it up when we go out during the day, but we were already getting ready for bed here.

Ok, the last debate is over, can we please fast-forward the next 3 weeks? Pretty please? :laughing:
