The New,New Hotel Thread-Yes, We're STILL Waiting

and by the way...i booked Beach Club with time left but got same message. You would think they would honor the ones who got to the booking and hit submit at the end before the clock ran out....never again!...isn't that false advertisement if you don't allow people to get their bookings if they were in time allotted? I'm going to report to BBB. Some people may have got ressies but others got scammed.

Thing is I had time to spare and they are charging me for the hotel! I am a terrified wreck...I also just looked the hotel on the "net" for price and I found it for $250 a night for a total of $500 a night...so where is there discount? That is almost half what they are charging me! BTW I am on my Mac on Safari!

Okay, quick question...when you all say "the video popped up" is it a pop-up or just on the screen you were on? I have pop-ups blocked so I'm worried I wouldn't get it even if I was randomly chosen.

Thanks

Did anyone who is going all the way through this booking process and then getting the "sorry" message consider that perhaps they ran OUT of the rooms you were competing with other folks for before you hit that submit button? Maybe others were just a little bit faster than you, and despite having time left there were no rooms left.

carolinamom have you looked at the account of the card you used? Wondering if yours showed up as an authorization and then dropped off?

It does not pop up in a new window. It comes up on the screen you are on.

......that's possible BUT the room I chose is still on there today...so have to void that. I had over a min. left when finished too.

got the dreaded no more campaign screen at the end...so now i am trying to protect the cc i inputed

called disney visa ppl and they said no charges have shown up yet, paid 6.99 to get the cc fraud protection put on, you can cancel it at any time they said. Hopefully this wont be an issue, they also said i could cancel card right now, but i will wait and see ....going to call lmt now and make sure there is no reservation......anybody have any other advice??

Alright, I admit, I did not read through the whole thread.....I just got a pop up that said "congratulations" the $1 sale now on or something to that effect. It made me type my search in again. Question....the hotel prices were showing regular prices. When do you see the $1 price. I did not put in my credit card info because I was afraid that I would be charged full price.

I feel like I got lucky to catch the sale...but then did not know how to take advantage of it. Can someone give me the short version of how to make this work?

It came up on the same page--the page changed from the list of rooms to a blue background with a box in the middle showing you how to use the site.

For me that scenario isn't likely--I was searching in Massachusetts and the town is virtually non-existent by vacationing standards

just called lmt, they said i do not have a ressie and that the cc numbers do not get "stored " anywhere in their computer unless the res went through...i guess i will believe him and move on with my life:goodvibes

Has anyone on a Mac gotten through and been successful?

I really need suggestions here. I actually got in and booked during the promotional period. I had 5 seconds to spare when I pressed the last submit button. I get a confirmation and they are charging me $974.44 on my credit card.

I know I had time left because my daughter was watching and telling me I had only 5 seconds left and to hurry up. That is the first problem.

Second problem is they said my card has been charged, but it hasn't because I have been monitoring my account. It would never have been approved since there is no way close to that in the account to cover.

Third I went on Expedia and the Hotel's website and the room is going for only $290 a night for the most expensive 1 bedroom suite and down as low as $221 for the same dates and suite. So they are actually overcharging over $450 for that room on their site! No way can the difference be taxes.

I got a 1 bedroom suite at the Shelbourne Hotel on Lexington Ave in NYC.

If it goes to a $1 then I would be thrilled and my daughters and I will have a few days of being girlie and NYC...if not I am canceling but they said it would take a week for them to replace the money into my account.

So what do you guys think I should do?

Well it is 4.42 EST here and i just got the video. After sitting here for several nights and getting nothing. I just walked in turned the computer input my dates, nothing, then i refreshed and the video started, i started shaking and had to pull myself together to put my info in. Any way i got 7 nights at Coronado Springs, i am so happy i could cry!:cheer2: :cheer2:

So hang in there, oh and i also got the kids stay and eat free postcard today!pixiedust:

Congrats!! I got Coronado Springs too!!

But its also possible that the limit on $1 rooms or rooms available through this promotion are limited by the numbers, not necessarily locations...meaning they are giving away just 10 in ANY location at that particular moment, so even though you want an obscure location you could be number 11 and miss out as well.

As I posted yesterday I think this whole thing is a huge scam and you all are going to have some major issues with this "company". People have already been overcharged when they shouldn't have been and they keep changing the rules. If it was 100% legit they would not keep changing the rules. As far as the tax issue that came up yesterday as well they should have had this in the intial terms and conditions. Any other contest or sweeps you enter tells you what to expect in the terms and conditions and they do not keep changing the terms. They are also very misleading with their advertising. They advertise you can buy a room for $1.00 a night and than send you an email after you booked saying the room is free so they can than send you a 1099 and they get a huge tax break. Totally unethical business practices.
