Did your ground get saturated from the quick melt?

It happened here last week. Got warm, some rain to melt 2 feet of snow real quick. Water all over. Then is froze and now it has snow on it again.

I'm wondering if there is a ice dam down the irrigation ditch somewhere.

We had so much rain last fall that the ground was saturated before the snow even started! Therefore we have a huge amount of mud in the patches where the snow has melted and then alternately we still have spots where the snow drifts are still 3-4 feet deep. We had rain all day yesterday that melted more snow and made more puddles. We are expecting a rain/snow mix storm tomorrow night and my Mom is sewing a little blanket for Daisy that we hope Rowan will leave alone at least through the last few spring storms.

How sweet, do you think Mama will leave the blanket alone? If she does will the foal leave it on?

I just looked at my local forecast I may need to plow again to get to the road. I'm hoping it's over but for the next couple days it might stack up before it melts again.

Hopefully Daisy is persuasive enough to let her mom keep her blanket.

I doubt anyone was watching. But there was a hat trick at the pond tonight. Big win for the Ducks.

Did you happen to see those? I would choose white over dark and may of missed them if they were there. But this is for DS anyway and he got milk chocolate.

They usually have white chocolate bunnies as well dark and milk. There is not as many white to choose from. But they do have them. My son likes white, and my daughter like milk. So I usually end up buying both. Do you have an easter egg hunt for your son?

I hide his basket and chocolate foil eggs around the house. Well a couple rooms at least.

That's funny, we do the same thing. The weather is still to crappy outside to be hunting eggs out there. My daughter knows all the hiding spots now. She is 13 now, we will see if she still wants to hunt eggs this year.

Oh and in town a local bank has an awesome easter egg hunt. Well sort of a hunt. They use a few thousand eggs. They used to be real and the bank employees dyed them. But now they use plastic ones with little toys in them. A few eggs have certificates for real prizes.

A couple bikes. A few $50 bills. and some gifts.

But it was a mess last year because some parents didn't follow the rules and helped there kids. I'm not sure if I want to go again.

No telling but with such a cold spring I hope she leaves it alone

I used to love it. I got really upset one year, probably about 9yo, because I couldn't find it. It was really tall and hard to hide but ended up in a very tall empty waste basket. Much harder than behind a curtain or couch.

Yeah the things the bank does is on "grass" but when hundreds of kids rush out it becomes mostly mud.

I imagine you can't wait, but it's still a ways off. Think about how much snow you have to see melt before you leave. I know depressing, except that things will get drier.

most of our snow is gone. We are back to rain. We live in a rain forest so we tend to get more rain than snow. Although this year we had mire of a winter with just snow instead of the usual - snow with rain thrown in.

Do you have snow up on the mountains around you?

It snowed a bunch overnight. 8 inches and still coming. I might have to drive the SUV to get out now. Still resisting plowing.
