Thanks Cali! Looking at the floor plans for the deluxe rooms, one thing bothers me, and that is closet space. The closet in Plan B looks really small, relative to A. I like all of the angles in the B plan, but the closet looks like it is much smaller. It is difficult to tell just from a floorplan though. We tend to travel with too much stuff, and storage space is essential!! Which one would you request? Also, I would think that you could see the lagoon from a plan A room. Can't you see the CR?

Maybe I made up that the GF has a playground. I guess I just assumed that they would have one by the kids club. I remember that every other Disney resort that we have stayed at has one. Do you know what type of activities they have at the pool for kids? I know about the pirates cruise, tea party, adventures in cooking, etc. but what else does the resort offer?

Well, I think the closet in Plan B would be large enough. The way they drew the plans, they aren't based on the same scale, so the one does look bigger than the other. There is only around 50 square feet difference between the two, not including the balconies. In actual square footage, including balconies, they'd be around the same size.

I think we'll be requesting a Plan B room. I'd really like 4329 or 4429 as it's balcony has a view of the monorail (which still amazes me!) as well as the new pool. The very large balcony is the selling point for me on that type! :) Also, I like how the angles of the room change, it won't feel like a regular hotel room "box". :)

Both room types are in different locations of the hotel. I don't think you can see the CR from either.

If I was you, I'd send the concierge an e-mail to find out about all the kid's activities. I'm not on my usual computer, so I don't have the address. I'll give it to you a little later! ;) I can tell you that their telephone number is 407-824-1775, if you want to just give them a call.

How far apart are rooms 43/4429 from 43/4422? Wouldn't you get the monorail view from both? I am looking at the GF resort map that is posted on this site, exactly where are the rooms located (ie. can you use the numbering on the map for gift shops and restaurants) to tell me where the concierge deluxe rooms are located? Thanks!

Here is their e-mail: wdw_gf_executive_reservations@wda.disney.com

Okay, Concierge deluxe 43/4419 and 43/4420 are where #7 is. Concierge deluxe 43/4422 is where #12 is, and Concierge deluxe 43/4429 is on the left of #16.

The way the 29's are located, the monorail would pass below to the right of your balcony (if you were sitting out on the balcony).

Hi Cali!!

I can't remember which thread I asked you about you saying "the GF hardly ever discounts RPC" so I'll ask you here!!! what do you mean "hardly" ever?? I thought it was never!!!!

also, I think you should keep your LV room, and hold out for the RPC!! that's what you really want!! keep the view, and then indulge in RPC when you are able to book it!!! you know it'll happen!

also, that stinks that no deluxe rooms have a MK view!!!
how many regular rooms do??? I know th ewhole 2nd floor MK view is the clarendon level honeymoon suites! (I stayed in one!!! :) :) :))

Laura :)

AAA discounted RPC to $475/night this year. I called about 2002, and they said that they won't be giving AAA on RPC.

In RPC, there are 16 regular rooms and 9 honeymoon rooms with MK Views. There are other rooms with partial views, that are obstructed by trees as well as other buildings.

Are the rooms in Sugar Loaf considered deluxe or standard? What "plan" is it?

Sugar Loaf just has regular rooms.

thanks Cali!!!

what are the odds of getting MK view w/regular room at RPC, if you request it???

Laura :)

Thanks Cali! Do you have a floor plan for the main building? Have you stayed there before that you know where the specific rooms are located?

Here is one more question! Using the map again, where is the RPC located? The food is on the fourth floor, but where? Also, where are the elevators? Thanks!

You are lucky one of the CM's told me where the stairs were when I was at the GF in March! She said, "see those stairs? They'll take you up to Royal Palm!" Well, it worked! She had another CM walk with me up, and took me over to a concierge desk. :) But, I don't have a floorplan to the main building. I have seen one (the concierge had it, as well as floorplans to every room and suite type).

The Lounge is near #14 (and the desks are the floor below), and the elevators are near #4. Royal Palm takes up the entire 3rd, 4th, and 5th floors of the Main Building.

Cali-D....

I just had to tell you that I never knew you were a guy!! :) No offense, I just had you pictured as a woman. I guess I never thought a guy would like the GF.

Thanks for all your GF info... it has really helped us plan our trip. :earsgirl:

You know, I always thought a few people here were men, and they ended up being women! And vice versa! I'm told a lot that people think I am a woman! LOL What's the point of getting upset over it?

:earsboy:

Thanks Cali! Are you concerned at all by the mixed reports on the RPC, especially the food offerings? rhays new report about Sugar Loaf is scary. Does the RPC have bottles of water and soft drinks that we could take back to the room? Should we stop at a grocery store before we arrive?

MJS...I think it depends on what you want from the concierge. I wanted some snacks for my kids and DH during the day...plus that unlimited beverage supply! (Which the Poly DID have, so I don't understand why the GF didn't.)

I think it's rather pitiful when you need to purchase the refillable mugs to have soda available! I wasn't even that concerned with the soda...but I do think they need to have water available at all times. You should NOT have to stop at the store on your way to CONCIERGE! That is the POINT of concierge, to have extra perks and pampering provided to you. You are PAYING for it, so they should provide it.

My main reason for deciding to go with the Sugar Loaf was because of my DH's accident...I figured he would be spending more time at the resort instead of touring the parks, and wanted him to be able to have some snacks and drinks during the day while we were away. Don't get me wrong, there was always the 2 kinds of lemonade (is there a difference?) and tea available. But those aren't real thirst quenchers when you're hot! I would even go with all the glass and silverware...I understand the "ambience" of the resort...but I thought I had read that there were food items available for children...PBJ and other "kid" type items. Is this only available in RPC? Because it sure was no where to be found in Sugar Loaf.

I appreciate the time everyone is allowing me to vent...it's just very disheartening because this is my FIRST negative experience at Disney and we've been going for quite some time.

Ruth (who at least got to see John Travolta as he arrived at the resort! So all was not lost!!) :D

You know, I am concerned, but, I have to remember one thing. Last year when we booked Poly Concierge, I read rave reviews (on the AOL boards; the days before I found the DIS!) so we decided to try it. But, things had gone downhill; and we didn't get the service, etc that everyone raved about.

We still have a little less than a year, things can change (which, I bet they will; people aren't going to put up with this!).

IMBE just stayed there; maybe in her report it says about the drinks. I better check...

In March, I remember seeing the big glass bottles. I don't recall seeing plastic bottles.

If you'd like to know for sure, e-mail the concierge. :)
