BCV23 - oops! Sorry! We must have been posting at the same time, I didn't even see that you had posted - it takes me so long to compose.

Jungle Cruiser - it is going slowly, I'm afraid! Our temp has dropped into the 50s, which means I can't have the windows/door open, and I have a hard time with the fumes. Not to mention, I have a curio cabinet that needs to be cleared out and moved, we left it 'til last.;)

Love that photo of the RPC lounge, afternoon tea sounds good, doesn't it?

pas130 - you're hangin' tough, I see! Good luck, I would have a hard time keeping that promise.;)

Hey, no need to apologize! Great minds and all that. ;) Well, not so much in my case but at least a GF fan like you. :goodvibes LOL about composing. I'm such a slow typist that I would have missed it if you had posted five minutes before me much less a minute or less.

Oh, yes. Wouldn't it be fun to all be at tea this afternoon? :cloud9:

:rotfl: Yes, definitely great minds.:thumbsup2 I think we are all in agreement, we'll have to wait and see if KC Mike confirms. I'll bet he didn't know he was starting a guessing game!

Tea is always so much fun.:lovestruc I miss the GF, too, btw.

I thought it was between boca chica and the building closest to the poly. I was wondering around one day.

My guess for KCMike's latest photo: taken between Big Pine Key and Boca Chica facing the quiet pool with the main building in the distance. :surfweb:

I'm pretty sure that is where I was. Now I am questioning myself.:)

Congrats to BCV23, you are the only one who knew where the picture was taken from :yay:

And, another excellent photo KCMike, clearly we were all intrigued by it!

So much good information here!

We just booked a short stay in late Novmber for RPC. We'll be driving ourselves (not ME) and arriving at about 10 am.

To check in for Club, is there a desk outside of the entry way? Or do we go into the lobby?

Thanks :santa:

pas 130 when are you leaving and how long are you staying? Just because you aren't staying at the GF doesn't mean you can't visit!
Dh and I are leaving next Friday :cool1: We are staying 3 nights at the Poly. Our first visit there, and DHs dream resort....mine is GF and we DID stay there this summer. I am SOOOO going to pay a visit to the Grand :lovestruc

pas130, don't overdo!!! :scared1: Rest up for your trip. :woohoo:
Trying to rest...well lots of Halloween running around. 3 more nights of work  But it will go fast :woohoo:

I can't wait to go already! I am not tolerating too much walking. But after an unsuccessful test run with a store ECV, Dh and I both decided a wheelchair is the best this trip :rotfl: You should've seen me try to back up and turn...well at least I didn't run anyone over right?

:welcome: You are going to love the GF, and RPC, especially during the holidays.:goodvibes

The guard at the gate will ask your name and whether you are checking in - then, usually, for your ID. He/she has a list, and will likely call ahead and alert the CL cast members of your arrival. They should meet you at the curb, under the porte cochere; if they do not, there is a CL podium near the front door during day hours; if you still don't see anyone, head inside and inform someone at the front desk, they will call and get a CL CM to escort you upstairs.

Here is a photo of the front entrance of the GF; the CL podium is usually somewhere on the left side, between the baby stroller and the guy walking out the sliding doors.

Whew, I'll bet you are ready to go! Tough to prepare for and enjoy Halloween, with the excitement of WDW building.;) Sorry your injury is causing problems.

I'm sure you will love the Poly, it is a lovely resort - and, bonus, you can see the GF from a distance, so pretty!

LOL about the trial run of the store ECV. I'm sure you'll do fine with the wheelchair.:thumbsup2

Thanks so much! It's been several years since we stayed at the GF. That time we had a Lagoon View at Big Pine Key, a dormer room on the lagoon end.

We're usually Poly people, and this will be a fun change.

I know that sometimes a Club CM is right there at driveup - and sometimes not. I've been known to walk right out to the Hawaii building and knock on the sliding door. That makes DH look around as if he doesn't know me. :rolleyes1

Thanks again.

Wow pas130, you must be getting super excited. A large part of what we all love about the GF is the grounds, the lobby and so on. You don't have to stay there to enjoy all of that. Plus the trip from the Poly to the GF is an easy one, especially with your husband pushing the wheelchair!

Here's a picture of where I would like to be right now. We are getting a winter storm in NJ tomorrow, up to 6 inches of snow where we live. Ridiculous!

JungleCruiser - ahhh. that looks so nice and WARM!!! We are getting ready in Connecticut for a snow storm too. Hope you are feeling okay.

KCmike - you take such great pictures. I have walked through a lot of places that you have taken pictures from at the GF and would never have thought to take that picture from that advantage point.

I'm pretty sure it was me taking the picture, or was it me?:rotfl2:

We had a lagoon view in BPK years ago, too - back when booking lagoon meant you might get a castle view!:thumbsup2 Glad you are getting a chance to return, and your old favorite, the Poly, is easy to visit.:goodvibes We love hopping the boat over for breakfast, lunch or sushi, and some shopping.

LOL about knocking on the Hawaii door, tell your DH others have done the same (for instance, me)!

Jungle Cruiser - love that photo, how pretty!:cloud9: I can't believe you and MommyGina are expecting snow, ick.

MommyGina - it just occurred to me I may not have responded about your FIL. (forgive me if I repeat myself, lol) I'm so happy to hear he is doing well enough to travel!

Thanks. I love coming home and reliving the vacation through the pictures and video we take.

mommyGina, is it snowing in CT?! We have about 4 inches of heavy, wet snow in our area of NJ, as well as no power.

What better to do a cold snowy October day than look at a GF picture :cutie:

Love this pic. Even though we're not staying at the GF, this really gets the juices flowing for our Disney trip, T-12 days and counting, snowfall and all. When we stayed in the Turret room overlooking that raised area next to the beach (slightly different vantage than your pic), one of the days they were having a private business party late in the afternoon, early evening before our dinner rezzies. Both Mickey and Minnie showed up for the party, taking pictures with the people, and you could see they all were calling their family members to come down for the pics. My wife and I stared out the window for about a half hour trying to figure out how we could get by security and crash the party. :). We never did try...
