pas130, what happened to your foot? Sorry...I am so behind. Whatever happened, it is not insignificant. You're obviously a very busy mother with a career to boot. Prayers for a quick recovery for you.

Prayers for Lulu'sMom, too. I didn't know you were doing chemo. Keep thinking those positive thoughts. We put that poison in our system so we can enjoy more years with our loved ones. So worth it in the long run.

Ali, they seem to vary the times for Christmas decorations. The surprise adds to the magic, I guess. But in recent years, it seems the gingerbread house goes up in early to mid November even if the rest of the decorations don't appear until closer to Thanksgiving.

It's funny......I dropped a Frozen chicken on my bare foot :scared1: OK so not so funny when it happened. And if I had a dollar for everyone that said "At least it wasn't a turkey..." I could've financed my 2012 Disney trip :lmao: People at work forget I am feeding 7 people for dinner. And my kiddos LOVE chicken. It happened Tuesday, the first thing I asked was "Can I go to Disney" to whichI got a "Of course" Then I asked if I can work, and he was a little hesitant, but I explained I need to save my paid time off for Disney, and the doctor agreed.....All my patients ask about my foot...I am now "Nurse Perdue" :rotfl2: Thanks for asking...I just feel it is NOTHING compared to what everyone else is going through.

ANd it's OK to laugh about the chicken foot thing, I do....last weekend I was stuck in an elevator and had to climb out so I am glad THAT happened first before the foot fracture, just hoping my unlucky streak is over, and it's all Magic at Disney time...:wizard:

Oh,BCV23 !!!!!~ I had no clue you were going through chemo!!!:grouphug:

I originally was looking at a gastric surgery but they sent me to a hemotologist and alot of red flags popped up and there you have it.
Back at the cancer center again. :headache:
This isn't my first rodeo, sometimes I get so tired, but I keep praying for strength and looking forward to the future with my family.
So love you all for your thoughts and prayers and BCV23, I've added you to my prayer list!

Thank you to everyone for their kind thoughts. Chemo is just a part of my life, sometimes it's easier than others. Seems like a number of people are going through tough times, just keep your spirits up and dream of the GF! :grouphug:

Lulu'smom, no doubt you will be there in the Spring, you need the healing powers of the GF!

I got a chuckle out of our friend's (formerly known as pas130) Nurse Perdue's story! That must have hurt, so sorry for you and sorry to laugh. :flower3:

So, as the sun is beginning to disappear behind trees here in blustery NJ, I thought a picture of the same time of day at the GF would be appropriate.

You're welcome. I certainly hope it is still true. Will you please let us know when you return?

I certainly will! I look forward to posting a full report on here. :)

And I have all of you that are sick/injured in my prayers!

pas130 - quick recovery for your foot. DD was on crutches last week because she sprained her ankle running back into school for something that she forgot!!! Never a dull moment. Thanks for the smile and wave!

Yes, never a dull moment I agree. Hope your DD is feeling better! I am WAY to clutsy for crutches, very thankful for my walking cast :goodvibes

I tried to get the kiddos into heavy jackets this morning. And they aren't having it yet. Hope it warms up for them in recess. Maybe we should all buy some Grand artwork for home...I totally believe in the Grand's healing powers.... It's SO OK to laugh, I do now. Somehow I no longer have the desire to eat chicken though ;)
:lmao: Glad to make you smile, you put on smile on my face today...

I am MUCH better :goodvibes Nurse Perdue it is  Hoping to get the cast off tomorrow, or at least a new cast....this one is falling apart, perhaps too muck walking :rolleyes1

Greetings. DH and I would like to spend our upcoming March 2012 anniversary trip at GF this year. I have stayed RPC, but this time I would like to be out by the water in a TPV room. I am usually partial to the marina area, so my first choice could be placing a Sago TPV request with CRO. Any feedback on what your favorite Theme Park View building and/or room is would be greatly appreciated. :goodvibes ...Oooh, and "hi" Nurse Purdue! :wave2:

I have not stayed in a TPV room yet, but all of the pictures I have seen/information I have read indicates that either Sago Cay or Conch Key are the buildings to request since the castle view is straight-on.

Have a great time and congrats on your anniversary! :)

Very busy in here, I like it!!:goodvibes Sorry I've been MIA for a couple days, we are prepping our family room for paint and it's taking longer than expected (per usual, lol).

Ali - Welcome!:goodvibes If your goal is to be in the main building and see the castle, the main bldg. TPV room is the best option! You might get an oblique view in some of the standard rooms, but probably not, which is why they've separated the categories and charged more for the TPV rooms!;)

We love the main bldg. at Christmas, so festive.

MAGIC...itis! - Welcome!:cheer2: Congrats on your upcoming anniversary, how lovely to spend it at the GF.:cloud9:

As mariamouse posted, the consensus seems to be Sago Cay and Conch Key for the best TPV rooms!

Positive thoughts and pixie dust to Jungle Cruiser and Lulu'sMom for their chemo. Blast that horrible disease into oblivion.:grouphug:

BCV23 - You've had a tough year, rest up and enjoy your planning for the upcoming trips.

pas130 - Nurse Perdue. Funny story about your foot, though I'm sure it wasn't funny at the time. Still, a good sense of humor always helps, and I'm glad you are able to head on down to the World.

LOL about your kids rejecting the heavy coats - I can relate!

I almost bought a GF drawing last trip.:lovestruc If we had been driving, I would have - should have had it shipped home, I guess. DD has a drawing of AKL she wanted as a birthday present.

MommyGina - How are you and your family doing? How's the FIL? Sorry to hear your DD sprained her ankle - my DD sprained hers at dance years ago and it can be a tricky recovery. Best wishes to her.

KC Mike and Jungle Cruiser, lovin' the photos!:thumbsup2

So, time to admit my "dirty little secret" to the group only that may actually relate. I have what we call my GF room at home. It's actually only an alcove, but I have 3 small framed GF pictures and a overstuffed chair that has been covered in the "retired" GF fabric! Two Christmas' ago my daughter gave me the fabric, she found it on Ebay and I had the chair covered in the fabric. I have 2 Larry Dodson etchings of the GF and the print of Mickey and Minnie in their chairs on the beach at the Poly facing the GF! I will take a picture a post it. See if anyone recognizes the fabric! It's a wonderful place to sit princess:

k&a&c'smom, good luck with the painting. It is always more work than you think!

Can I come and live with you? :rotfl2:
LOVE IT!!!! Can't wait for the pics, JungleCruiser!

I so love all you guys and gals! Thank you all for the positive thoughts and prayers! All of us greatly appreciate and you know, that's what a little "forum family" is all about! LOVE :grouphug: Again, thank you!
My little JungleCruiser buddy, really uplifts my spirits all the time. Her posts are so positive. Thank you, my friend!:goodvibes

OK, enough 'bout that....

I've got a folder filled with nothing but KCMike's and other's photos just for my desktop and screensaver! AND I change it every couple of days! I've got so many to choose from! THANK YOU!!!! :worship:

kacsmom~here's to getting that painting and some  back right at ya!

Been calling everyday trying to get those couple of days.
Does anyone know if there is something going on May 16-18 at the GF?
Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?..... ;)

MAGIC...itis!~Welcome to our little GF home! :wave2:
Congrats on your upcoming anniversary and picking out the Grand !
My vote is the RPC's TPV, too. But for the very special room, why not the RPC's KING DELUXE (request the turret room and high floor)! Those rooms are fabulous!
Someone have some room view pics from those?
You get bird's eye view of EVERYTHING! Just fabulous, plus a king sized bed.

Oops, you want a marina view.
OK, back to the TPV in the RPC or like the others, Conch or Sago.

My BFF just came back several weeks ago and had a TPV in the end of Boca by Narcoosee's and the view was fabulous, too.

Either way, here's to a GRAND time for you and your DH!!!! :cloud9:

A ral live GF shrine :yay: FANTASTIC!

Love your dirty little secret, Jungle Cruiser!:goodvibes I missed out on the pillows, I came so close to getting one of those yellow "Dream" pillows, or one with Alice & the teacups - but fiddled around and they were gone. I always forget I can have things shipped, phooey. BCV23 reminded me they had those needlepoint pillows, but by the time I was able to look, they were gone, too.~sigh~

Looking forward to your photo!:thumbsup2

pas130 - oh, the lamp! Love that lamp.:lovestruc

Lulu'sMom - thanks! BTW, I like your Sticky Mickey avatar.:goodvibes

Hello GFers.....I have a quick story for you all:
So that's what it is called...RPC's KING DELUXE (the turret room)...I've been there! I always just called it "one of those turret rooms" because of the shape, but I never knew what the actual room was called were I to try to book it myself with DIS. Of course, I could not afford to book it on my own anyway!! :rolleyes1 I don't tell people I stayed here unless I tell the whole story because I didn't actually pay for it myself. So... I treated my parents to GF for their 45th Wedding Anniversary in 2008 at the height of the "economic downturn". This was before the multitude of room styles with varied pricing began, and I had a regular Garden View type room reserved and was hoping for a peek of water or some nice view for them. The Resort was still empty in very early June. I mean crickets. Happily... we were Magically Upgraded to this kind of turret room, the RPC's KING DELUXE. Ours was located on the same floor as RPC, and at the front of building with a view of the theme pool, wedding pavillion etc. They upgraded us knowing there was three of us... so the Happy Couple got the King Bed and I got the rollaway cot. :rotfl: That's ok, a little stiff back was definitely worth it! We had a wonderful trip, and even rented a boat to view Wishes for the three of us. A magical trip...EXCEPT, of course, for when they tried to charge me for the upgrade upon checkout. It took me 3 trips down to the front desk to re-straighten it all out each time after they would run the "new" bill up to us and slide it under our door, each time still without a "zero balance". It was a bit stressful then, but makes for funny memories now. :goodvibes

mariamouse: Thank you. And thanks for the helpful info. Congratulations on 1000 posts and 11 years on the DISboards.

k&a&c'smom: Thank you. :goodvibes It sure seems like a good place to hang my hat for awhile. March will be here before I know it! ::yes::

KC Mike and Jungle Cruiser: I think your photos are just beautiful. My art director background is all excited. :wizard:

Lulu'sMom: Thank you for weighing in and thank you for the RPC's KING DELUXE information. So for a marina and TPV view, it is official... TPV in the RPC, Conch or Sago. :thumbsup2

pas130: Hello there, pas... or should I say Nurse Purdue! :rotfl:
.
.

I can't help but notice all the GFers here having challenging times right now. Here's a hug for all :grouphug:

That room became available for our trip, WITH 30% off over $600/nt :scared1: What a fabulous upgrade, sorry about the billing issues. Thank goodness it finally got straightened out :thumbsup2 Stay at GF!!! That's my vote. March is SO close :woohoo:

Here are a cole of pictures from my "GF room". I took them with my phone, so the lighting etc isn't great but you get the idea!

Here's a close up of one of the pictures you can't see.

Finally here is a picture of the old style GF fabrics I have. Anyone recognize them? AND k&a&c'smom I remember those yellow pillows, and I too thought about it but didn't buy one :sad1:

I did it! We have booked a TPV concierge room for the Christmas parade taping weekend. I am so completely excited I can hardly wait. This is such a fun feeling for me. I'm pretty lucky because I go to disney about once a month since I live so close but because we go so often I am usually renting points for AKL or VWL or staying in value or moderate. I am excited to go but it is nothing new. This is an amazing feeling of excitement to do something new and and I am going to enjoy every minute of it! Are there photo pass people in the GF so I can be in some pictures since I am the photographer in my family? Do they still do the resort photo sessions?

Tell me how the concierge lounge works so I don't make a fool out of myself.

When we pull up with our car do we tell them we are staying in the main building?

So many questions!!! THANKS!!!:banana::banana::santa::santa::santa::yay::yay::yay:
