could someone point in the right direction, please? I'm trying to find what a schedule of activities might look like in early december (movies, trivia, games, etc) We are staying 2 night before DVC and would like to take time to enjoy the resort.

thanks!

Well, I can't believe all of our Halloween decorations are covered in snow this morning! According to one news report, the tri-state area hasn't had snow this early since the Civil War!!

Looking at these pics of my favorite home-away-from-home is helping, so here's one of mine taken from the launch:

Only 13 days until we're back there!

:sunny:

Well, lots on snow in NJ. No school tomorrow because of power outages. We are very fortunate to have a generator so there is some light, heat and a working kitchen!

Although it isn't a GF picture I thought something for tomorrow's holiday would be appropriate for my friends on this thread :grouphug:

Happy Hallowishes everyone!

Wow pas130, you must be getting super excited. A large part of what we all love about the GF is the grounds, the lobby and so on. You don't have to stay there to enjoy all of that. Plus the trip from the Poly to the GF is an easy one, especially with your husband pushing the wheelchair!

Here's a picture of where I would like to be right now. We are getting a winter storm in NJ tomorrow, up to 6 inches of snow where we live. Ridiculous!
We just got our power back. It took 3 hours to get to work yesterday. Every road I tried to take was closed down, then down trees, no traffic light, jackknife tractor trailer...you name it. I made it there and back safely. Thanks to our fireplace, Dh was able to keep my babies warm...they had a slumber party. Crazy seeing snow, I am SO ready for Florida! And that's a picture of where we would all love to be right now. Thank You! And Happy Halloween to you as well!
Whew, I'll bet you are ready to go! Tough to prepare for and enjoy Halloween, with the excitement of WDW building.;) Sorry your injury is causing problems.

I'm sure you will love the Poly, it is a lovely resort - and, bonus, you can see the GF from a distance, so pretty!

LOL about the trial run of the store ECV. I'm sure you'll do fine with the wheelchair.:thumbsup2
I made it through 2 12 hours shifts this weekend, so I am sure I will be fine :thumbsup2 And I have a wheelchair when I need to take a break :goodvibes I already told DH we have to stop and have a meal at GF :woohoo:
I LOVE Halloween (almost as much as Christmas) This will be my first trick or treat in snow :rotfl: Most may be melted by then...or at least I hope so.

Loving your pics....enjoy your trip!

Pas130 Glad to hear you got power back! No sign of a power truck in our town, but my kids are grown and we have a generator. A slumber party in front of the fire sounds perfect! You have had a tough couple of weeks, it's definitely time for a little WDW magic! Just think where you will be in. Week! you should definitely get to the GF for dinner and some ambiance.

DH and I are talking about generators now....think that will be our next big purchase :thumbsup2 All the nurses came in this morning unshowered . We have gas stove and gas water heater, so thank goodness for that! The kids thought it was fun :goodvibes We have battery operated lanterns and a radio too. :yay: 5 more days :dance3:

Wow, just what I need this a.m. is WARM photos of the GF. No power here at home since Sat. night (and no signs of it for a few more days) I'm in the country so no town water, no heat and it was a brisk 55 in my bedroom this a.m. The only good thing is my hardware store has power so I looked forward to coming into work this a.m. I may sleep in aisle 12 tonight!!!

Break out some tents...An indoor campout! Stay warm

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

Sorry to hear about all the DISers without power, and covered in snow. Hopefully, the power will return quickly, and the Trick-or-Treaters will still have a great evening.pirate:princess::joker::firefight:clown: :wizard::yoda:

Phyllis1966 - Less than 2 weeks to go, how exciting! Thanks for the photos, very nice!

pas130 - so cute about DH and the kids by the fire.:cutie: Enjoy your Halloween!

Jungle Cruiser - Wonderful photo of the Summerhouse landing, so pretty, and a cute Halloween photo - did those ghosts hitch a ride home with you?!;)

We purchased a home generator this spring through our local Lowes store. It's powered by gas from our home HVAC system. It wasn't inexpensive. But when a wind and hail storm took our our power lines in May, we were SO happy to have it!

We rationalized that it's a home improvement. We may not use it often, but when we need it - wow, it's nice!

I don't have a list of activities from that period, but I do have one - I'll go look it up, to give you an idea of what to expect.

Yes,yes, yes, candy will keep us warm!!! Happy Halloween to you!!

For all of us without power in the cold and snowy northeast...this is taken at the pool looking up at the palm trees.

Jungle Cruiser, Thanks for the photo. Makes me feel warm looking at it. Still no power or heat here. Although, I did spot a tree service at the end of my driveway this morning, so power can't be far behind!! It's only day 3, but I'm sick of this winter camp-out. Hopefully tonight I can get back to "normal".

I hope so too  Are you staying at the store? Hope you get heat soon!!!

junglecruiser Thanks for the palm trees....I'll be there soon :dance3:

kha100399 - I found a schedule from August, and one from March, but I'm not sure how close either would be to the December list. One note: the camp fire on the beach and movie on the beach have changed due to the DVC construction; DISers have reported the movies are now located at the Courtyard Pool, but I am not clear on whether the camp fire is still available anywhere on property. If anyone has current info, please jump in!:thumbsup2

Here is the August, 2011 list (where there are numerous items listed, they change daily). Most activities are at the Beach Pool, except the evening movie and EWP:

1:00pm-6:00 -- Wii Mania

3:00pm-4:00 -- Pool Party Bash

4:00pm-4:30 -- Dance Party

4:45pm-5:45 -- Disney Trivia/D. Music Trivia/Pitchburst/Are You Smarter Than.../Scavenger Hunt/Name That Singer

8:00pm -- Camp Fire and Dance Party - ???

9:00pm -- Grand Evening at the Movies (now located at Courtyard Pool? movie time changes with the season)

9:15pm -- Electrical Water Pageant on Seven Seas Lagoon

These are the free activities; there are various activities available for a feee - for instance, boat rental, arcade, Pirate Adventure, Wonderland Tea Party, and the Mouseketeer Club.:flower3:

HTH!

pas130 - So close!:dance3: Did the kids have a good Halloween?

Glad you have the peace of mind, ice storms have been so frequent in our state the last few years. My cousin in northern Missouri has been out of power every year for 3-4 years!

I hope your power is back on, and the heat.:scared1:

WE HAVE POWER!!!! Lost power on Saturday night about 8:30. Got it back this a.m. at 2:45. Every tree in our yard has some kind of damage to it. There is still no school and most of our town is still without power. It got down to 47 degrees in the house. My kids went to my in-law's house.

DH and I both agree that we are moving to Florida to get away from this weather! Halloween will be this Saturday. I want my treat to be a trip to the GF!

Hope everyone is okay after this storm.

pas130 - So close!:dance3: Did the kids have a good Halloween?

They did. Only trick-or-treated for 90min. But we have lots of leftover candy...not too many kids out yesterday :guilty: My DS3 was so funny, he did NOT want to come inside...he was also the warmest "Lightning McQueen race car driver outfit...like a snowsuit :lovestruc Got my wheelchair all set up to be delivered/picked up. Lists made out for babysitter & Gramma, now to figure out what to pack

Thank you for asking :goodvibes

Hi mommygina Yay! Glad your power (most importantly heat) is back....I am TOTALLY moving to Florida when DH retires
