Thank you for the photos and your opinion.

I've decided to book Sugar Loaf Club Level. It's our first time at the GF and club level at that! I am soooo excited that I have to calm myself down. I can't wait!

 :woohoo: :yay: :dance3: :cheer2:

The GF does have cribs you can request, but I've never used one. Friends and I just had this discussion, and the consensus was that the cribs are sturdier than a pack 'n play, but not a lot larger.

If anyone has personal knowledge about the cribs, please speak up!:goodvibes:

I was able to get a crib at AKL last summer. They are the average crib you would find in any hotel, white, just smaller than your average "home" crib. Much sturdier I think than the packnplay, but the advantage to me was we slid the crib between the two Queen beds and the crib was almost level to the beds. So he was more comfortable falling asleep, since he could see his siblings :cutie: And the mattress was a little thicker than the packnplay, so my little bear was more comfy. I assume GF would have similar cribs.

Victoria & Albert's at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa has been awarded the AAA Five-Diamond Award, the highest AAA honor for a restaurant. This is the 11th year (first awarded in 2000), and V&A's is the only restaurant in Central Florida and one of only three in Florida, along with L'Escalier and The Restaurant at the Four Seasons, both in Palm Beach. Only 55 restaurants in the U.S., Canada and Mexico made the 2011 list.

The leadership team at Victoria & Albert's are manager and sommelier Israel Perez, chef Scott Hunnel and master pastry Chef Erich Herbitschek.

The restaurant is one of the best in Central Florida and certainly the best choice for special occasions. The menu is modern American cuisine with an emphasis on fresh seasonal products.

AAA evaluates more than 60,000 hotels and eateries annually. The ratings are given on a scale of one to five diamonds. Five-diamond properties are the premier establishments in the U.S.

zad'smom - You're welcome! I think you will enjoy SL.:goodvibes

pas130 - Thanks for that info, very helpful! Your description sounds like that of others, so I think you are right that the GF cribs are similar.:thumbsup2

CR Fan - thank you for the article. Congrats to V&A's!!:cheer2: It is, indeed, a one of a kind experience.

The smell of flowers was everywhere. This was a trash can.

Thank you! Did you have any problem getting one? We have never needed one before so I wasn't sure how hard it was to get one.

:welcome:

Congratulations on your first trip to the Grand! I'm sure you are going to love the resort. Are you going to attend a wedding, or for your own wedding? Congrats to the bride and groom.

Hi there!
I've been fortunate to stay at the GF only one other time and that was magically the RPC in the main building. So I have never seen the interior of the other buildings.

Can someone tell me if they also have a "lobby" or is it more like simple hallways of room doors?

We have been here staying in Sugar Loaf for a few days now. Everything has been wonderful. We were greeted as we came off the ME buss around 11:30 AM and were taken right to our room which was ready! The resort looks beautiful and the only sign of construction is at the gatehouse where cars and busses enter.

I can report that there are nightly campfires on the beach but still no movies. Another topic that has been discussed on this thread that I can answer is that music is being piped in during Wishes at both the dock and the marina.

We will be here for another 8 days so if anyone has questions about something just ask, I'll see if I can answer or find someone who knows the answer!

Each building has a lobby... It goes up several floors - not as grand as the main lobby.. but it does keep the themeing and I have found them to be rather nice when coming in from the parks or the resort!

Have you done laundry, if so how far are the facilities. I also saw someone post you could request snacks and drinks to be put in your room, are they still doing this?

I'm shocked there are no movies. THey just thad them two weeks ago. It was also on our itinerary they leave in the hotel room.

Wow. That picture made me dizzy! I'm only the umpteenth person to say this but you got some cool shots. Thanks for sharing. Less then a month until GF and you're helping me to get a daily fix!

Thanks. It never gets old having someone like your shots. I know I was always happy to see others views when our trip was upcoming.

I've been mostly lurking, but I'll say that I really am enjoying your shots too KCMike! :goodvibes
Since we've never stayed at the GF before, your pics as well as the rest of the thread is helping to get me excited for the trip in September. ::yes::

So excited, as a matter of fact, that my DH made me upgrade three days ago to CL.

Happy 40th Bday to HIM!:rotfl2:

Welcome!:yay: How lucky - or, possibly, unlucky since you are now spoiled;) - your first GF trip was in RPC!:lovestruc

If you go back a page and scroll down to the last post, KCMike posted a great photo of the lobby of Boca Chica from above. All of the outer buildings (with the exception of the Sugar Loaf CL building) have similar lobbies.

Welcome!:cheer2:

There are laundry facilities in every building except SL. Usually two washers and two dryers, all the outer building facilities are off the first floor lobby, the main bldg. laundry is on the second floor. $2 per load to wash, $2 per cycle to dry (it sometimes takes heavier clothes more than one cycle).

Welcome!:goodvibes Your first trip, how exciting! Especially so, now that you have CL booked - happy birthday, indeed.;)

Jungle Cruiser - thanks for the update, glad to hear you are having a great time!:goodvibes

Thanks for the info regarding the movies on the beach. If you get a chance, you might ask one of the CL cast members about it?

I'm happy to hear the sound for Wishes is working again, we have yet to hear it when we are at the marina.:headache: I guess we are unlucky enough to be there when it is on the fritz. With several posters reporting that they have heard it at the marina AND boat dock lately, maybe they've done an overhaul.

ozzyla - I forgot your question about the snacks. The only thing I've heard about having them put in the room is in club level. I think IPO will email a list, most of the snacks are pretty pricey, though. I was never sure why anyone would choose to do it, since as a CL guest, you get free snacks and drinks in the lounge!

Any guest at any resort can place a grocery order through garden grocer or wegoshop, and have it delivered to the resort. For garden grocer, there is a minimum order - $40, I think - and a delivery fee, but it might be worth it with a family.
