I promised to post regarding how rooms were assigned for conventions at the CR. Rooms assigned seemed to be dependent on when you arrived. We came in on Saturday and were assigned to the garden wing. Others in our group were in the tower and some even on the MK view side as high as the 11th floor. The ones with the 'better' rooms came in on Monday. Better really is relative though. We decided we were probably happier to be in the wing as we had the patio, easy pool access without having to walk through the lobby and we could just walk to the room from the MK without having to take the stroller into any elevators. Since the elevators were frequently packed this made a difference.

Ditto...Love watching the Electrical Pagent from our room at night...have even been there to see the space shuttle take off...IMO the bay lake view is great

Thanks to Dan Murphy on the tech support thread, I can now post some pictures from our trip that are not the size of gnats! We visited 9/17-9/23. DH and I stayed in room 4632 on the 10th floor, MK view. Here is the interior and the view toward GF and the view toward the castle. I am sorry that the quality of the pictures is not all that good.

Here are pictures from room 4605, a Bay Lake view, where DS (24) and DD (20) stayed.

And here is the state of the construction in the middle, along with Chef Mickey's!

Oops! Forgot the picture of the swan! By the end of our stay, we had a flock of these guys! It was silly...and great! Love the CR!!!!!

It's just a standard code which all specific views at each Resort have on their confirmations.

Aghhh I am driving myself crazy worrying about the construction at CR in December!

I got so stressed out I called WDW and asked about availability at the Poly and GF but they were all booked up... even though brother and father would have killed me since they wanted to stay CR.

I know there are bigger things to worry about and no matter what I will be at WDW, enjoying the parks and the meals and the magic, but I really hope the 4th floor construction is done. We are really hoping to be able to eat at the new CS location.

I also hope it will be completed by December however if it's not I guess we can live with it, since the construction was happening during our stay there last month. Also and I am being honest that it was not as bad as others are making it out to be and our room was over the construction area.

while I hope they are done by Dec...I am so excited about staying at CR for the first time, I don't care, I plan to make the most of it and really enjoy the entire experience 10 weeks from tonight we will be watching the fireworks from our balcony

We really need for Contempo Cafe to be completed for our stay. If not, we are going to be stuck doing a lot of breakfast room service meals.

Thank you, I appreciate the post. My convention starts on a Tuesday and we arrive on Monday. Should be interesting where we end up. I'll be sure to post when I return.

Does anyone know at this point when the Contempo Cafe is expected to open? We arrive during Thanksgiving week and I'm hoping to be able to grab quick snacks there.
