Is there internet access in the rooms? Should we bring a laptop?

We go in the next few weeks, those construction pic's are so disappointing! We have a MK view tower room & our other party has I believe a standard garden(?) room.

Debating cancelling our CM dinner ressie, wonder if we could get in to the Wave or CG if CM is bad? Did anyone notice whose been recently? TIA

Yes, there is Internet access in every room. Some websites will be blocked, but yes, overall, there is Internet access.

However, from what I understand you do not have use of a COMPUTER, you only have access to the Internet. If you want a computer for other functions (such as uploading photos from a digial camera, thus freeing the camera's memory for more photos), then you'd still need to bring your own laptop.

This is just book knowledge talking here ... but after February it'll be first-hand knowledge.

Yeah, the computers were originally added a few years ago as a test program ("Disney's Online Concierge" or something like that), and were never removed. You can access most sites on the internet for free (some inappropriate sites are blocked).

Edit: Already answered above. And the computers definitely aren't like PC's, so as said above you can only go to websites basically, you can't upload camera pics or anything like that.

We brought along a laptop to upload pictures and such, so that the photos would be home upon our return and ready to scrapbook! I had read somewhere in this thread (I think) that you could connect your laptop to the server with an ethernet cord from a connection under the desk (for free), but in our room at least that wasn't the case. We could not find a place to connect, so we paid the $10 for each 24 hours of wireless service. I wanted those photos safely uploaded!

Here is a little tip I noticed about the in room computers. Let's say you get an e-mail with an attachment from Microsoft Word or Microsoft Excel and want to open it, even though those programs are not on the computer the file will still open up and you can view them like on any other computer which has those programs.

There is a USB port on the computer. We just returned from the CR this week. There was no noticiable noise/smell when we were at CMs. Keep in mind they aren't working on weekends/evenings etc. I didn't really think it was a problem at all. That being said, the Wave is far away from any of the construction etc. so if you are really worried about it you'd never see any construction there.

And the Dis Gods must have been smiling on me today - I was FINALLY able to get an ADR for Chef Mickey's. I've been trying nearly every day since I booked the trip! Granted it's at 7:00 am, but how great to be able to just stroll on over, have a waffle with Mickey and the gang, then go back and get ready for a day at the parks.

We are planning on staying here 5 nights, will we like the garden rooms? I mean they seem so far away from everything. Also, do they have connecting rooms (the ones with the door between the rooms)?
