My DH called and asked me a question that I had no clue how to answer. He is planning on us sitting on the balcony and drinking coffee while the DS's go off to sleep, like we did on our last trip when we stayed at the WL. He was wondering when they turn off the lights at the MK, or do they keep them on all night? He was just wondering if after a certain time if it would be dark and hard to make anything out.
The latest I would stay up was until 2:00 AM and the Castle would be different colours, so I am not sure what time they stop doing that.

DVCNEWS.com has reported that DVC has file paper work with Orange County about BLT and similar items. They have links to the pdf's so you can read them. They only one that is really worth the time (and not a bunch of legal stuff) is "Exhibit A" which show some pretty interesting diagrams. AGAIN NO OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FROM DISNEY YET!!!! Enjoy

Thank you for posting that link.

I went to bed every night and layed there and watch the castle change colors--always midnight or 1am or so. I always wondered when they turned off, but never caught them.

Thank you both!! I was wishing they would be on that late. My plan is to do like you did michygoomy, and just lay there and fall asleep to the castle and wake up to it every morning. It's going to be the best 4 nights and 4 mornings ever.

Another question....
My DS9 has Autism Spectrum Disorder and I like to prepare him for things well in advance. We are using DME, and it will only be our 2nd time using it. How many stops will we have before we get to the CR? Or is it different each time you use DME based on the other resorts people are staying in that arrive about the same time as we will? TIA:goodvibes

I just booked the CR for next summer. I noticed that it says coffeemaker and refrigerator available on request. Aren't they standard in every room in a deluxe?

Thanks,
Joanne

That information is false. There is a mini fridge and a coffeemaker in everyone so no need to request one. Besides that have a great time staying there. :thumbsup2

I just have to say the more I go through this thread, see the pictures and hear about people's trips, I'M SO EXCITED TO BE STAYING THERE IN LESS THAN 3 WEEKS! (Construction and all!)

Thanks to everyone here for all of the information and great pictures.

(And if I can reciprocate with any AKL information for any of you, let me know :goodvibes )

Just a little over 2 weeks and we'll be at the Contemporary for the 1st time too :cool1:

Anyone who's been there recently, could you give us an idea of what kind of breakfast things are available at the Tempo Grab n Go or the coffee bar that's there? We plan on getting a quick coffee and something to eat on our way to the parks most mornings and if there's a way to get this at our hotel that would be perfect!

I'm still trying to get through this thread but I've learned a lot from what I've gotten through so far. Thank you all for your input and info :flower3:

Ha...I've read this whole thread....:surfweb: Very informative.

I've been going back and forth between the Poly and the Contemporary (yes I had to spell it out), but I think we might have to save the Polynesian for later. I just love the Bay Lake Views...awesome.

Anywhoo....what is the dress code at the California Grill? Cause I'd hate to be the one showing up with a bright tye dye shirt.:scared1:

This is what the Disney website says:

Dress Code Guidelines:
Men: Khakis, slacks, jeans, dress shorts, collared shirts. Sport coats are optional.
Ladies: Capris, skirts, dresses, jeans, dress shorts.

NOT permitted in dining room: Tank tops, swimwear, hats for gentleman, cut offs, or torn clothing. While t-shirts are now allowed, the policy remains that t-shirts with offensive language and/or graphics are not acceptable.

You could do a split stay.. we are spending 3 nites at CR & 3 nites at Poly..

I am not 100% sure but I think it's business casual, so hopefully someone can confirm that.

We just ate there at the end of August. My family and I dressed "business casual" as we always had when dining there. We were quite surprised to see people in shorts, t-shirts, and yes, even tank tops.

By the way, CR Resort Fan 4 Life, it sounds like our families were both staying at the Atrium Club at the same time. We always go down the last two weeks in August and stay at the CR, either Atrium or Tower Club. It was wonderful as always but I miss Janet. We were lucky enough to see her at the front desk a few times though. :)
