I finally took the plunge. I booked the CS with the new codes. Although I will miss CBR, I am looking forward to the CS. Now I have to call back and make my request. I forgot in all the excitement!!!!!:o

The 10 % charge at the Pepper Market covers limited table service. The staff will find you a seat, bring you cutlery and napkins and fill drink orders for you.
At the Pepper Market you go to each food station yourself and pick out what you want. Upon selection the server at each food station will stamp your card. You can freely go back and forth to each food area and the Pepper Market and mix and match meals as desired. You must keep the card that is stamped as that is what is used to calculate your bill. When you are finished you go to the check out. The cashier will total your bill and add the 10 percent. If you are only at the Pepper Market for take out or mug refills the 10 percent will be waived.
I found the 10 percent gratuity well worth it. Not only do you NOT have to hunt around for a seat but the server will also clear the table after you and bring clean cutlery and cloth napkins. I imagine this gratuity goes to the kitchen staff and cooks as well.

How is breakfast at CS? We have never eaten at the Pepper Market or Maya Grill, but will probably do one or both during our upcoming trip. Does have an experience with either? I appreciate the information! Thanks in advance!

Also, has anyone ever been to the Salon to have their hair cut or styled? I am going to a wedding at the wedding pavillion on one of the days that we are there and I would love for someone to do my hair before hand!

The breakfast at Maya Grill is a buffet. It was very good. We ate there in August. Lots of selection. The biscuits are to die for! I would go back for those alone! :teeth: Good value for the selection. The price I paid for one adult was $11.95!(Beverages were extra)
These were the selections available:

I think that the last time we stayed at CSR we were in Cabana 9B. I am thinking that this time that 9A would be a better choice for us because we will have out 2 1/2 yoa dd with us. I really don't care about having a view of the lake.

Here are my priorities:
close to Dig Site
close to bus stop
close to El Centro
1st floor room

Here are my questions:
1) Is there a quiet pool in the middle of 9A. I can't tell from looking at several different maps? I would like to be able to walk out of my room and be face to face with the quiet pool.
2) Will this meet my priorities list?
3) Is there anything that you would suggest about staying in this section?
4) If you stayed in this building on the first floor with the quiet pool infront of you would you do it again?
5) How was the noise level?
6) If so do you remember your room number and what was it?
7) If 9B isn't the building that I should be looking at which building is the right one that I am describing?

I think that's all for now. Thanks!

9A would probably be your best bet for proximity to the Quiet Pool and Dig Site. You cannot pick specific rooms. If being close to the Dig Site is your #1 priority mention that first. If being close to the bus stop is more important mention that first. The rooms controllers will take requests but prioritize them based on occupancy. The more requests you make the harder it is for them to fulfill them.

Speaking as someone who has stayed on a ground floor room in the Casitas I found it noisy. We had a lot of foot traffic where I was and could hear the maid's carts rumbling along each day. Typically having a room on a higher floor is generally quieter. Less people passing by on their way to stairwells or elevators.

Was the pool closed the last couple weeks??
And is it open now?
What did they do? ......just maintenance??

Right -- and there are quite a few tables just -outside- the Pepper Market doors that you can sit and eat at, avoiding the 10% surcharge. I posted a photo here upthread of the tables and how close they are to the Pepper Market doors. You can take your food and dishes outside on trays, eat at the tables, then carry them back in and drop them off at the Pepper Market counter.

Thanks so much for starting this FAQ thread!! We have stayed at CSR and really enjoyed it - especially the pool area and the Pepper Market. My DD and I will be there over her spring break the last week of March :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: !!

We have a standard view room reserved, and I've requested 8A, where we've stayed before.
Just wondering - is there another good building that would have a nice, non-parking lot view, convenient to both Dig Site and PM, etc.?? We might like to try a different section/room decor this time.

DH and I are headed to CSR next weekend for our anniversary. Can someone explain the pepper market system in detail? We aren't doing any parks this trip. Just hanging out at the resort, maybe DTD, and have a PS for dinner at Ohana. Is is necessary to have a Ps for Maya Grill for breakfast? Do they just have a buffet or is there an a la carte menu as well?

Just a note for those going to CSR....they are renovating rooms. All rooms in Bldg 4 & 5 have been renovated, but renovations are sporadic. Make sure you ask for a renovated room!!!!!

Susy, we did not have PS for breakfast the times we ate at the Maya Grill for breakfast in December. I guess it will depend on the time of year you are going, but chances are you will be seated when you arrive. We were seated everytime we went down for breakfast. For breakfast it was a buffet style with lots of choices(eggs, cereal, muffins, fruit, waffles, etc.) They bring you your beverages and you go up and get your food for the buffet.

As for the Pepper Market. You are seated at a table (if you choice to eat in the restaurant) by the staff. The server will bring you your drinks. When you are seated you are given a card to bring around to the different "kitchens". The "kitchens" all have variety of choices ranging from hamburgers, pizza, and an oriental food and several choices of deserts. There are some many choices of food that I can't remember them all. When you are at the "kitchens" they stamp your card for the food that you are getting. Each person may have their own card to be filled out. You can visit any "kitchen" you would like. You do not have to get all your meal from the same "kitchen". You can something from each place if you would like, including desert. When you are done you bring your card to the register and they add up all the stamps on the cards. At this time the 10% gratuity is added. As for the tipping your server I guess that is one's choice since they are adding the gratuity for you.

I know someone will be able to explain it a bit more that have been there several times.

GoofDisney thanks for the information. I will have to rememeber that when we return in November.

Trying not to sound dumb here, but are you talking about the Casitas?

Does anyone know if there is a bus stop close to Ranchos 7b? I would like to stay in that section when we go and was wondering how far the bus stop would be? Thanks!!!:)

DisneyFan79: There is a bus stop right at 7B that is shared with the Cabanas. When we were there we were in Ranchos 6B and used that bus stop. They were in the process of building a new bus stop closer to Ranchos 6A and 6B when we were there. We loved our location in 6B - we had the ground floor room right behind the bubbling pool - we could hear it bubbling at night - very peaceful.

DisneyFan79 Bus Stop number 4 is located between Ranchos building 7B & Cabanas 8A

maciec buildings 4 and 5 are in the Casitas.

Is the decor in the Casitas the same as it is in the Cabanas?
