In some picture of the kiddie pool I see that they have spitting fish in the pool and in others they aren't there. Does anyone know if they are or aren't right now?

The spitting fish is gone. I think it was deemed a safety hazard.

BUMMER! My dd would have loved them!

Hi All!! I'm soooooo sorry that I haven't posted in sooooo long! I'm in my last year of High School and man is it stressful at times! But good news....I'm on March Break for the next 9 days!! Woohoo! So I'll be able to add more info on CSR

I'm so happy to see so many people loving this resort or giving it a chance for the first time! I'm countin down the days to when i'll get back there.

Epcotfan, I can't thank you enough for helping me out on this thread, you are a Lifesaver!!

My father in law is about 10ft tall and really needs a king sized bed. When my mother in law was making their ressies she was told that there was no was that they could secure a king size bed. That they were for requests only. She even offered to pay for it. So I told her to fax in a request to have a king size bed due to my f-i-l's height. They are checking in on a Tuesday and we are checking in the next day. We want to try and be near each other, but we would like to stay in Cabanas 9A or 8B.

My question is are there king size beds in every building or are they located only in a certain area of the resort?

That seems very odd they would tell her that........
A king size bed room is a whole different level for a reservation. It costs like $10 more.....just like a "water view" or "preferred view" .....so YES it can be "secured".

I would call back and ask someone else.
It could be there weren't any available for your timeframe.

Don't worry about the kiddie pool. It still has little fountains that shoot up water. real cute.

Susy ......

Thanks for the information about the kiddie pool. I didn't know that! She will be very happy!

If anyone out there can tell me specific room numbers for either 8A or 9B that would be very quiet, I would really appreciate it.Thanks:D

We are taking friends of ours to WDW and staying at CSR for 3 nights at the end of the month. Our friends have NEVER been to WDW so we wanted to stay on property. This being our FAVORITE Moderate resort we booked here.

My question is WHAT building is closest to the bus stop, Pepper Market and pool? We will have 4 kids with us so we are looking for the shortest distance to have to carry anyone! lol

Thanks! GREAT THREAD!

Cabana 9B is the closest to -all- of those things - there is a bridge over the lake which will take you to the pool, and you're also very close to El Centro (bus stop out front) and Pepper Market. We requested this building for our trip last August and got it without any problems - it was a fantastic location. Plus we had the beach hammocks right in front of our building too! :)

I would also like room numbers like Crazy Tigger. Does any one have room numbers for 9A or 9B? I would really like to maybe have a number for when I fax my request. Also can you mention which floor the room is on.

Also does anyone have room numbers for 6Bor 7B? My in-laws would like a little quieter area and don't mind walking a little further for the food court.

Thanks.

My mistake on my last post, I put crazy tigger instead of crazy kanga. Sorry Kanga, I remembered the bouncing Tigger and that's what made me put that.

(The sad face is because my daughter wants the snow to go away and the sun to come back more!)

Re: room numbers, I always read/heard you were NOT supposed to request room numbers, because the chances of them getting you a specific room are slim and none (they may look, see that room is occupied, and put you someplace else entirely) but chances of getting a specific building are very good.

That said, my mom and dad went to Coronado last spring, requested building 9B, and got room 9622, a water view on the back side of the building.

We went down in August of the same year, also requested building 9B when we booked, and we ALSO got room 9622 when we arrived! What are the odds? I never mentioned my parents going down when I booked our room, and my last name is different from theirs so there was no real way this could have been anything but a coincidence! But it certainly was a fun one, and they had no problem remembering what room we were in all week.

Bonnie: We were in 6B, Room 6522, ground floor right behind the bubbling pool. We could hear it bubbling at night, very peaceful - also convenient to Dig Site and to the bus stop at the Ranchos.

You will really limit your choices if you request specific rooms. You may end up somewhere completely different from your request if the room you want is full. Your best bet is to ask for a certain building. The more requests you make the harder they are to fulfill. Again room requests are just that, requests. They cannot be guaranteed.
Prioritize one or two things that are important and ask for them.

Thanks for the replies SuzEm and Magnetic.

Magnetic, I ask for numbers because the last 2 times I went I requested rooms ( I gave a couple of choices for room numbers) and both times I was given the room I requested at ASMovies.

Maybe this works better there because they are not as large as the moderates. This will be our first year trying a moderate. I will either request a section or room numbers and we'll just see what happens. We have been lucky in the past, but I don't ever count on anything definite. Thanks for you advice.

I have to admit that on my first trip to WDW, I was very particular and worried about what room I got. After staying at a couple of resorts and seeing that most all the rooms have great features in their own right, I'm being a lot less compulsive about making requests....just put me where I'll be convenient to a bus stop this time and I'll be happy! When I got that room in Ranchos 6B, it wasn't even the building I had requested, but it turned out great!
