The *NEW* Coronado Springs FAQ Thread (Part II)

We have just decided to change our September 19-24 reservation from the Contemporary to Coronado. I am very excited and I am very anxious to try PM. I do have a question though...when it comes to the food in PM is all of it considered CS? I saw on the Allears website that they had a ribeye, potatoes, and veggies for $19.95. Is that a CS credit or a TS credit if you are on the dining plan? I am very very excited about staying at this resort b/c we have never stayed here before. I notice that we are going during the IRS convention, is there a big problem w/ people when going during a convention? Also in what area do the majority of them stay? Buzz I just wanted to thank you for all the information you have put on here. I really feel like I'm ready to go and all I have seen are pictures. Also if I could get a room recommendation I would appreciate it. We want something close to the PM and one of the bus stops. My grammy is going w/ us and we don't want to long of a walk for her and us after a long day of doing the parks. Also something that is not to far of a walk from the Dig Site. Also do the buildings have elevators in them? Any information at all would be very much appreciated. :thanks:
We never encountered a problem with conventioners during out stays at CSR. Actually the resort was fully booked when we were there, but you would have never known it! Even my dad was amazed at the pictures we took because there were never people milling around in the background! This resort is so big that it never feels crowded or busy which is great. I'm a little sad that we won't be returning to CSR...we just bought into DVC.

Oh so sad you bought into DVC.:lmao: Thank you for the info we just decided to stay there for the first time and are kinda apprehensive about it. But w/ everyone's help I'm not so much anymore. I kinda hope that b/c it is a convention resort the bus stops won't be so crowded b/c the majority of the ppl will be in conventions.:sad2: Also does anyone know i know that PM is CS but also I saw that a 10% gratuity is added does the CS credit cover that? TIA!

Okay...now who's getting tired of me asking questions?:lmao: :surfweb: Okay w/ the rooms what rooms are the nicest on the inside. I know they are set up the same way but as far as decorations. We have looked on AllEars and we don't like the Ranchos bright colors...I don't think I could sleep w/ all that color.:rotfl2: Also we think we read somewhere that they updated the Cabana's rooms...how much truth is that? Right now we have a room request for a Cabana's 9b room. TIA :thanks:

Those are old pictures. All the rooms now have the same bedspread seen on my website below. The only difference is the colors in the boarders, headboards and picture frames.

I was looking at the PM menus and was wondering if there really is only 2 kids breakfast choices? TIA :)

Does any one have a current picture of a room in the Ranchos section that they would not mind sharing? I believe the one on Allears is an outdated picture. I found pictures of the Cabanas and Casitas.

I have decided to give my DH and mom the decision to choose what section/building to put on our room request of course with suggestions.

I have suggested, 8A, 9A, 9B, 5 and 7B, but I want them to decide so I won't have to hear why did you request this section over that section. Of course requests are just requests and not guarantees, but at least I can say I tried. If we get a section not to our liking we can politely ask if something else is available.

Thanks.

We just returned from a 3 night stay from 5/27-6/2.
Buzz, you are sooooo right about Coronado Springs. We LOVED it. We stayed in Cabanas 8B and it was a short walk to the Dig Site and a VERY short walk to the bus stop. I hate that we never got a chance to walk to the other sections around the resort. I would love to say there would be a "next time" but we are a family of 5 and very soon we won't have the under 3yo option for the 5th member. That has to be my biggest complaint about value and moderate resorts....they just don't work for larger families. 2 rooms or a suite is just too expensive :sad2:

On to my original request. I am trying to do a scapbook for my 7yo who had major surgery this Monday. I did not take pictures of the entrance, Pepper Market, or bus stop. I did get photos of the Dig Site, lake, beach, etc. I know there are pics floating around but I did not want to use anyone's personal photos without permission. Would anyone mind granting me permission or sending me some pics...maybe by PM if you don't want to reply.

Thanks so much...naominpaul

Welcome back!! Glad you enjoyed your stay!!

Buzz,

First, thanks for all the GREAT information on CSR, all of your info. has been very helpful in our planning. We've requested to stay in the casitas during our stay in December and wanted to know if you know which buildings, if they all don't have them, have king beds? We paid the extra money to have a king bed and also put on our reservation a request to stay in the casitas, but just are not sure which buildings have king beds in them. Thanks for your help!! :goodvibes

There are only 124 king beds out of 1921 rooms at CSR. They are spread out among the three villages. Many of them have some sort of handicap accessible feature.

Good luck in getting your choice!

another reliable disney website mentions the following which may be of concern to us CSR fans:

Low-flow shower heads at Coronado Springs: A good idea taken too far
We stayed at Coronado Springs Friday night. Disney has installed new low-flow shower heads at this resort. We certainly understand the amount of water used at Disney's resorts, and the need to be conscious of the environmental impact. We think, however, these new shower heads may have gone too far.

The stream of water coming out of the unadjustable heads can't be more than three inches wide, and the water pressure is borderline unacceptable. Said one of our 9-year old daughters "First I had to wash my hair on the left side, then my middle, then my right side."

We'll be checking more moderate resorts over the next month to see how widespread these new shower heads have become.

I certainly hope this is not true! Maybe I will pack a shower head and some plumbers teflon tape...

I read someone elses report stating the shower pressure was terrible too. I just chalked it up that it wasn't what they were use to, but after reading this maybe is was a valid complaint.

I am sure the other resort would be going to the new shower head too not just CSR. Maybe this is a result of Florida lack of rain this year.

Showers are very important in customer satisfation polls for any hotel/resort. I hope they are not going to try this in other resorts because it is one area that people will not like. We will re-use towels, cut back on the air-conditioning, etc, but everyone wants a good showerhead and hot water!

I completely agree. I love a shower with a lot of water pressure!

Hopefully it isn't a state regulation to conserve water, but just something Disney did and they could always cange it back. It reminds me of the Seinfeld episode I saw last week when the shower heads were changed to low flow at Jerry's and Kramer's apartment. :lmao:
