Can I ask, does OPR have the Minute Maid Light Pomegranate Lemonade? I fell in love with it staying at OKW and while I know some restaurants have it I would love to be able to drink it at CBR!
Staying there 19th September to 2nd October.

Hello!

My DH and I first stayed at this hotel on our first Disney trip and now we are looking into staying here again. We were thinking of getting a king bed on this trip. I think they can be anywhere in the resort, is that correct? I would like to be somewhat conveniently located and I wouldn't mind a refurbished room. I like quiet. Would Jamaica be a good location to request? I'm open to your advice. Thanks in advance!

I do believe there are king beds in each "island" of the resort. Jamaica is indeed a nice location, as it's a short walk for food and drinks, but not right on top of the main pool and all the activity that goes with it. Also, Jamaica has been rumored to be the first island to undergo the refurbishment, so the chances of you getting a fresh room are pretty high.

I took a picture of the drinks that are available in the food court. They should be posted on the first page of this thread.

calmom. this is a link to Josh's site WDW easy. he has crowd calendars. it's kind of a complicated chart, but once you understand it, it's a great tool.. this is of feb 2014. I couldn't find 2015.

it shows the crwod level see how the number gos up on president's weekend? and which parks are recommened for each day and which are not advised/

as far as weekends being busier, that isn't true. not like at a local park like 6 flags,e tc.

for example, Mondays are not the best days for MK, (it's usually people's first day there and they ususally go to MK first. and tuesdays are not good for epcot. peopel usually hit epcot second, and it's usually and EMH day. sundays are good cause it's a common check in, check out day.

I don't think saturdays are bad, as long as it's not a holiday weekend.

you could also pick up a copy of The Unofficail Guide to Disneyworld. it has a chapter onthis stuff.

I agree with yopu about missing school. even up to 3rd grade I would take them out. 4th adn 5th,if they are good students. middle school gets tougher and high school, forget it. (I know many will disagree and think it's bad to take kids out. I think it is well worth it JMHO)

Thank you for that! I think I will still stick to M-F in the parks and President's weekend just hanging out since it sounds like it gets crazy that weekend.

We are taking our third trip to WDW late January/early February 2015. The first year we stayed at the Wilderness Lodge. We like it but were underwhelmed. for $350 a night, the rooms were not any better than the mod we stayed at the next year. Sure the lobby was nice, but we didn't spend much time in the lobby.

Last year we stayed at Port Orleans - Riverside. We really liked it there. Nice room and beautiful grounds. We wouldn't mind staying there again, but would like to try something different.

If you have stayed at CBR before, what do you love about it? We are strongly considering CBR for our next trip. I like the tropical feel. We live in the midwest where it is very cold in February. I want somewhere that feels tropical.

I would really love a refurbished room....will most of the rooms be completed by early February? Also, are they refurbishing the pirate rooms? I have heard the beds are not comfy at all in the pirate rooms.

Thanks for any feedback!

I see it, thanks. Doesn't look like they do :sad2:. Oh well, I'll just have to hunt it down at the parks CS restaurants!

We will be back at the Caribbean Beach Resort in Sept, cannot wait, this will be our second time here and from all the moderates I have try (except french quarter) this one is my fav. :) I really enjoy the theming of the resort and the Atmosephere. Hearing the music as you walk around the resort, the hammocks, pool, food court, little store, rooms, etc, love it all!:cool1:

Our 60 day window is in 2 days! :cool1: We have requested a room in Jamaica 45. Can anyone tell me if you have a better chance of getting your request if you do the early check-in at 60 days, or if you wait until your trip is closer or even when you get there? Made the same request 8 years ago, did not do on-line check in, and were given a room in Aruba. Just trying to increase my chances this time. :goodvibes

I talked to a friend that works at CBR yesterday (over 20 yrs). She says 41 and 42 are done, 43 is ready to open, 44 is half way done, and 45 is torn apart. Removing the 384 rooms in the Pirate section, and the 192 that are refurbed, they only have 1536 left. Piece of cake :rotfl2:

Might as well add that I will be there Sept 13 to 20. I'll bring my abacus.

So, I am curious.....Do they open up each building for guests to stay in as it is completed, or does Disney wait till the entire section of Jamaica is completed before those rooms can be occupied? :confused3

They open up each building as it is finished:)

Neither gives you an advantage over the other.

So I read somewhere else that Disney will do a "deep cleaning" of a room if requested/needed. My niece has very bad allergies and asthma and I was worried how she might adjust to a hotel room and the new Florida air. Has anyone ever had this done? Would I request it at online check in?

There's no option for this during online check in. You'll have to call and request a VIP cleaning for medical reasons.

Woo hoo, add us to the list! We just booked a standard view for October 5-9, 2014! I've never stayed here before and this thread has been very helpful. Looking forward to more!

I know there have been people posting their dates for the Beach Bum Roll Call. I will update the list tomorrow night. Spent the last 5 days at the lake and it's too hard to multi quote and update the list on my phone.

So welcome to all the newcomers. I will have your dates added soon.

As Dansdad said, you will have to call. IMO it's worth it. Ds10 has mild to moderate seasonal allergies here but there is something in Florida that gets him sneezing every time. It's worse there for some reason. Luckily it doesn't seem to be the rooms but something outdoors. But if you are worried, have the room done and make sure to bring whatever meds she needs. I ended up running off property for Claritan on a February trip. Didn't even occur to me that he'd need it since it's Spring and Fall allergies here.
