The Most Expensive Free Trip Ever - TR Link is Up! Pg. 164

How wonderful for Judy that things turned out the way she hoped they would! :cool1: And it sounds like a good place to work at if they appreciate her being honest. :thumbsup2

I am always amazed how people seem to change careers in the US, here in Germany you are expected to stick to what you trained for. Judy is a great example going form industrial engineer to PChef business to high school teacher. I think it is wonderful to have so many possibilities open to you! :goodvibes

Congrats to Judy!!! Glad that she doesn't have to worry about time off for the the vacation. We don't have to worry about snow days just hurricane days.

Thank you. I know about hurricanes too. We lived in Wilmington, NC 1996-99 and experienced several. No kids in school yet at that time though.

I didn't see last night that she was praised for being honest and forthcoming about your vacay plans!! Always feels good to do the right thing!!!:thumbsup2

I wish I could say we were motivated by purity , but I just didn't want it to be an issue as the trip approached.

That's such exciting news! Congrats to her!

Thanks tinkgurl!

Thanks Magdalene. Yes, you see that happening more and more. Actually, she was open to trying to get back into Engineering, but being out of the game for so long she wasn't getting any interviews. This situation will be better family-wise though.

 With all the travel on my brain, I deleted a few days from my Disneyland countdown. I have 108 days. ;)

We'll have to do a double-digit celebration again in 9 days to get over this tragedy.

Sorry Glenn - This has nothing to do with your PTR. :rolleyes1

I noticed Rentayenta has a dog named Guinness!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

:drinking1

Question...... do you guys have AP's or do you buy tickets? If you buy tickets, then where do you buy tickets from? Doesn't DVC get a discount on tickets too, or is it just the AP? Ok, that was more like 3 questions.

No problem! I think they got him about a year ago? Jenny?

Yes, we have annual passes. Unfortunately, the DVC discount is only on annual passes. We planned our trips so that we'd get two trips out of them ('09 trip beginning in late-June and '10 trip ending mid-June).

I didn't order them ahead of time or anything. We went to Downtown Disney the first evening after we arrived and bought them at the Guest Services location there.

I see. So do they expire on the exact date you bought them, or the last day of the month you bought them?

ETA.... never mind, I just re-read that and realized exactly what you said.

G'Morning Ladies and Gentlemen!! I hear there's some ticket talk over here.

I wish I could go twice in one calendar year. HA!! I wish I could go twice in two years! ;)

A little bit. Like everything else Disney, you have to have a plan and a strategy. :thumbsup2

We are having another snow day here! Aaaagh!

They cancelled school yesterday due to the threat of snow, and we got none. Nice. I blame it on the TV weatherpeople. They are fear-mongers, and everybody is a little gun-shy after the two whopper snowstorms we got recently. One guy predicted yesterday would be "catastrophic". Um, not so much. Today is miserable. Only a couple of inches so far, but the wind is howling. So at least it makes sense to cancel today.

At the rate we're going my kids will have to take finals when they get back from Disney. Seriously.

Wow, never seen them cancel before snow. When I lived up north they would cancel in the morning. You had to listen or watch a certain station on TV. Of course when I was a kid I loved snow days but when I had a child then didn't like them so much.
