The Most Expensive Free Trip Ever - TR Link is Up! Pg. 164

Hey Glen! Why'd you have to go and send your snow up here?! I could barely see a mile in front of me on my way to work this morning! :scared1:

6 inches is way more that we EVER get! Glad it was warm so it was mostly gone.

Raining here today AGAIN.....we still need it apparently. I don't mind rain. I would love just a little snow..not "catastrophic" though....;)

glad the clean up was easier this time around.

Okay, never-minding.
:rotfl2:

G'Morning Ladies and Gentlemen!! I hear there's some ticket talk over here.

I wish I could go twice in one calendar year. HA!! I wish I could go twice in two years! ;)

Well you do sort of live FAR, FAR AWAY!!!

A little bit. Like everything else Disney, you have to have a plan and a strategy. :thumbsup2

Very true!! :thumbsup2

We are having another snow day here! Aaaagh!

They cancelled school yesterday due to the threat of snow, and we got none. Nice. I blame it on the TV weatherpeople. They are fear-mongers, and everybody is a little gun-shy after the two whopper snowstorms we got recently. One guy predicted yesterday would be "catastrophic". Um, not so much. Today is miserable. Only a couple of inches so far, but the wind is howling. So at least it makes sense to cancel today.

At the rate we're going my kids will have to take finals when they get back from Disney. Seriously.
:scared1: Oh I would NEVER make it up north. I can't stand the cold. I had a hard time this trip to WDW with that freezing wind!!

This is the snow I woke up to...
FebruarySnow003.jpg

It's right about a foot and it's still snowing!

I remember when I was growing up in PA, we had a few times where they canceled school because of the threat of a storm...and then we didn't get any snow. That was awesome. Problem is, they won't do it next storm and then you'll get a foot and everyone will complain to the school board that they didn't take the proper precautions...ahhh, those were the days :rotfl:
:scared1::scared1::scared1: *THUD!*

It rained here all day yesterday! Today is much more pretty. Sun is shining but it's still cold.

Yuck....rain. Well, it is winter.

Yes, and the weatherman wars are heating up! popcorn::

Good point!

Wind is the worst. Even though I live up north, I wouldn't like it at WDW if it was cold and windy. That's not how it's supposed to be, ya know?

Wait, I posted that in response to Jordan too. Gotta come up with something original.

I know what you mean about how it's not "supposed" to be cold at WDW. There was a few times this trip when I thought I just couldn't stand to be out in it anymore.

My first-ever visit to the Magic Kingdom was Christmas day 1983. They had a freak cold snap and all the orange growers had to spray their crops in order to get them to market. Anyway we froze at MK, and bought Mickey sweatshirts just to keep warm. We didn't pack clothes for that kind of weather --we thought the place was in Florida. :confused3

Well, I guarantee you it will be different when you visit in June.

I have many pictures from our trip during January with the boys wearing hats and gloves. :thumbsup2 But, that was only for the mornings. It always warmed up after lunch.

Oh I"m sure it will be different in June. We were HOT in May 2008! DH and I have already started our workouts again so that we can wear shorts & swimsuits in June. :rotfl:

This has been the coldest winter in FL that I can remember and I have been here sine 1983. I am southwest of Orlando and the cold fronts hardly ever get here except for this year. I think this is the first year that I can't wait for summer.

I do remember Christmas eve and Christmas day in 1983 it got real cold and really liked it because it was really weird to me to go shopping for a Christmas tree in shorts. The cold felt more like Christmas to me.

Exactly! We are going in August (I had a parka on one night in Feb last year though you guys had it a lot worse it sounds like...) so the Pilates has officially been ramped up!

Or restarted. That would be far more accurate. I have 5+ months...right?

:rotfl:

Glad it warmed up for part of the day at least. Did you bring the hats and gloves or have to buy them?

It's good to have a reason to motivate you to workout. I need this snow to melt and the temps to get a little higher before I'll start jogging again.

Glad you can back me up on the 1983 cold snap! So, has this year been colder or has it been a longer cold spell? I've seen a couple of instances since 1983 when orange growers have had to spray water on their orange trees to prevent them from freezing.

We are definitely looking forward to spring! Even though it means mowing.

It definitely was a bit chillier than I expected being there in Feb. I'm so glad I packed those sweaters! Looking back, I should've packed more pants too. I shouldn't complain as it was much warmer than home! Hopefully it'll be much nicer in April.

It has been colder and for longer periods of time. Usually we do get a few days of really cold weather but then it goes back up to 80. This year it seems like we are lucky if it gets to 65. The nights are 38 to 40. On normal winters when we have a cold snap it is welcome because it is a change but the change has been here since December and I want to be able to sit outside or even open my windows before we need the AC. Don't get me wrong I would rather be here then shoveling 3 feet of snow because I do remember those days. We don't winterize our pools because you never really had to and I don't even know how to do that.

You were wondering about sweaters before you left, weren't you? Glad you packed some. April should be really nice in Florida I expect.

I guess these strange weather patterns this year are affecting the whole east coast, to different degrees. (No pun intended.)

I had packed hats and those stretchy thin gloves. They didn't take up much space, but we were glad to have them for that morning. Here is part of the gang that cold morning (40's):

We seem to be the only ones wearing hats and gloves. :rolleyes1 The weird thing is, the rest of the trip we were able to wear shorts to the parks. :confused3 Florida weather in January is so unpredictable! But, it's still my favorite time to visit. :thumbsup2

You were ready! Good job to bring the warm clothes along. The weather can be unpredictable, but I hate being cold.
