The most annoying or aggravating thing you see at WDW.....get your flames ready!

Now there's a thought --a thread about the nice things people did/said at WDW.

Here's mine: my kids were swimming at the Pop Century pool and a man came over, pointed at my son, and asked if he belonged to us. We said cautiously "yes, why?" and the man said that our son was playing with his son who had severe autism and our son was making his son so happy and he just wanted to thank us for having such a nice kid. :goodvibes

That is a good idea...

What a nice son you have and how great that must have made you felt....

If you are at Disney you may not--

1.Ride in an ECV if you are fat.
2.Walk slow, if you do so, go to the side of the path, not the middle.
3.Walk fast, you might bump into someone.
4.Your child may not jiggle in line.
5.You may not leave the line for any reason and come back.
6.You may not go ahead of others down to a further monorail car.
7.Save a table for those waiting in line to get food.
8.You may not catch up in line to anyone who got there before you.
9.Use a stroller if your child is over 7.
10.You may not stop short, someone might bump into you.
11.You may not touch a person standing in line.
12.Your child may never misbehave.
13.If your child misbehaves it would just be better to go home.
14.You must give up your seat to people with children.
15.Get up to do a ride if you are in an ECV.
16.Hold up the ride if you are in an ECV and the ride stops to let you on.
17.If there is more than one ECV waiting for a bus, the second person should wait for the next bus so that the whole bus load of healthy walkers does not have to wait that long.
18.You should go back to your room to shower, freshen up and change before meals.
19.Do not sweat, this may leave perspiration on a ride.
20.If you have a wart or any kind of skin lump don't even bother going on a ride and grossing people are.
21.Don't go to Disney if you are fat.
22.NEVER should your child whine!!!
AND the list goes on.

WHAT CAN PEOPLE DO AT DISNEY, certainly not be human.
If it were up to all of the judgmental people around here, it's like creating an "exclusive people" that can be allowed at Disney and heaven forbid you should break a rule.

Is this new people coming in every few weeks feeling that this is NEW subject, or people who are here for years and feel the need every few weeks to feel better than others that continuously start these horrid threads.

WOW - i think when this thread was started he was just asking a opinion of what bothers you? if this bothers you so much than maybe you should just not look at it? or post a reply that says "threads about what people dont like at disney are what bother me". this is just like asking "what bothers you at work?". Personally i think this thread is hilarious to see that some people think the same i do about the same things. it is also nice to know what bothers some people because as much as i go to disney i most def dont want to be doing something that would bother someone else's trip. i think we all have established that in no way can any of this stuff actually ruin a disney trip. with that being said, just kick back and enjoy the disboards, and if there is a thread you dont like just do as i do and kick back and ignore it. life it too short to be bothered by someone else's opinion!

Thank you for starting this thread, i can always appreciate having a new topic to read about. :thumbsup2

People driving those speedboats so fast in the "no wake" zones that they splash the signs telling them to slow down. :boat:

It bothers me when people board a full bus and expect someone to get up and give them a seat. Somehow they have special vision that lets them see who has a disability and who does not, so they just know you are being lazy and won't offer them a seat. Of course, they have never thought of waiting for the next bus, or taking a cab, if they can't stand. That would mean taking responsibility for themselves, wouldn't it?

I just had to post this after all of the comments about how people were stuck standing on busses. There are other ways to get back to your hotel people. And if you simply can't stand on a bus, maybe you should look them up, instead of being so judgemental. But then this thread wouldn't have much left to say if people stopped being judgemental.

I started reading this thread out of curiosity but finally became so sickened by some of the comments. It always amazes me at how mean spirited people can be. You will be happy to know that your opinions thankfully don't matter to the good people of this world who accept people as people no matter how they find them. Laughing at people's handicaps or looks behind their back and then telling the world you do that...talk about white trash. If I was that sort of person I would think I wouldn't be bragging about it.

As for people needing to use ECV's for what ever reason, I hope you know that they don't care what people like you think because you would never be in our social circle. Having said that I will use an ECV for my next trip and I can walk without one at home. I don't even use a cane at home and I'm not considered more than 15lbs over ideal weight BUT I HAVE BAD KNEES from injuries I sustained in the gym where I use to work out. I am in severe pain if I walk long distances. I intend to get out of the EVC and park it and walk short distances , I might even it share it with my older brother so I can get some exercise and not become stiff from prolonged sitting.

I also don't feel that someone extremely obese should be made to feel like a leper because of rude people. I personally find it distasteful the way some people dress, or the lack of dress but why should it affect my vacation.

Rude people are rude people and they annoy everyone but making assumptions about other people who are not bothering you because you don't like the way they look, well that is rude. Get a life, you will be much happier.

What bothers me are the rude people who don't think of others. For example:

MOST people with strollers are well-behaved. SOME people with strollers use them as weapons....I got hit by one such individual last night- but it was the individual, and not all stroller users (and I am SO thankful that my kids are beyond the stroller stage- it is so much easier!)

Important cell phone calls are perfectly acceptable. I got an emergency phone call from work at 2:30 AM...on the bus on the way home from MK (yes, it was 2:30 AM there too and it involved a small flood in a laboratory). Not what I wanted, everything is okay, but I took the call because I recognized the number and knew it was an emergency. OTH, I shouldn't talk loudly on the bus (line, ride, restaurant, etc.) about who did what to whom and why its so important that I share this news with my best girl friend's second cousin's sister right now!

ECV's: Use them if you must. Be careful- small children and those experiencing Disney Duh are not predictable walkers! I have rheumatoid arthritis...I know that someday this could well be me....but drive carefully and don't use them as a weapon (see strollers above). Again...MOST ECV drivers are great- it's the one bad apple that spoils it!

Try not to judge others' disabilities. Sometimes they might be hidden. My DD9 got read the riot act at by a CM last night because she didn't hear a direction- once I pointed out that she is hard of hearing and didn't HEAR the direction (her hair covers her hearing aids, so they are not always visible), the poor CM apologized. I was just enough steps away that I didn't have time to redirect her (she went the wrong direction for loading).... No use holding it against the CM- honest mistake, But, he pre-judged her intention and made an incorrect judgement. Perhaps he learned to get an individual's attention first before assuming the individual is "bad". Stuff happens!

Teenagers are teenagers- I know, I have three of them. WDW does not cure their behavior. Elephants send their adolescents out into the wilderness until they are "of age"....WDW does not count as wilderness for humans. I am thinking of duck tape and a leash for mine a times (okay, they are really pretty good, just a little moody and know that I will inflict painful torture upon them if they swear, jump lines, wear heelies, or fail to give up their seat for an elder or person in need!). MOST parents do a pretty good job of keeping their teens (and toddlers) in line.

When I see a parent with a child having a melt down, I try to smile and remind them that this, too, will pass. My DS11 once screamed his little head off (he was 2) from China, through the international gateway, and to our room at BWV because he didn't get his way. I was about to crawl under a rock from embarrassment. I was blessed by a dear woman who told me that I would laugh about this someday. Having her smile a kind smile really went a long way.

And I could go on and on!

If people would really act Disney happy, things would be better. It IS your vacation, but it is also lots of other people's vacation, too! Surprise yourself- engage in random acts of courtesy and kindness. Holding a door, allowing a person to go ahead, smiling, giving up your seat on the bus....all of these will make you FEEL better, and improve the quality of your vacation. And then, our biggest complaint would be that people were too happy, too polite, and wouldn't accept OUR attempt at kindness because they were trying to be kind to us first!

:goodvibes

I think we should start one to give the board good vibes again! :goodvibes

My shining ray of hope in this thread is that three times my phrase "Disney Duh" has been mentioned. I tell ya, it is so much easier to excuse bad behavior when you blame it on the Disney Duh! The World is a much happier place when you can let these things go as a momentary lapse of intelligence.

I did mention that the towels hanging in the common walkways annoy me. Yes, I wish they weren't there. It doesn't ruin my vacation though. The OP asked what annoys you and a lot of us answered.

... Have you ever tried carrying an oxygen tank around (even the little one)?

It can be dangerous to carry an O2 tank in a stroller or anything other than an approved carrier. If it fell out, it could become a torpedo with the compressed gas being released suddenly.

I hate it when people don't offer the respect some of the shows deserve - like Hall of Presidents, American Experience, O Canada, etc. Or when the crowd starts to stream out of a performance like Beauty and the Beast before the performers have left the stage. You can almost see it on the actor's faces that they hate it, too.

That is my pet peeve, but I'll keep doing what I'm doing and making sure the child is safe and secure every time it happens. I guess I just look safe.
I work in a grocery store as a cashier, and people will always leave there kids up front with me. They'll just tell them to, "stay with the lady," and expect me to be able to watch them.

People that chatter on the phone while waiting in line for rides or in the gift shop or on the bus. SHUT UP! The world won't end if you wait until you aren't surrounded by a captive audience.

People that assume that because they have a stroller, they set the pace of the crowd. If you can't keep up with everyone else, get out of the way. People are jumping in front of you because they are trying to get around you!!!

Now, please read my original thread. I clearly stated that "people who dont have a physical ailment" and "are enormously overweight."

So you're saying that someone who is enormously overweight does not have a physical ailment ? Try lugging 200 extra lbs around and then come tell me that it doesn't qualify as a "physical ailment".
Sorry but it's simply not possible for a person to be "enormously overweight" and NOT have a physical ailment.

Obviously if someone is overweight due only to overeating the solution is to lose the weight. But it's not going to happen right away with a little bit of pixie dust. It can take years. You will probably disagree with me, but I don't think people should be required to stay home until their sight stops bothering you.

On being hit by an ECV. I rented one on our last trip - not because I'm fat but because I was walking on raw feet. The reasons why I didn't hit anyone are :
1/I chose to swerve & hit things instead (trees,fences,walls...)
2/I was going as slow as a snail

When you're in an ECV you're below most people's eye level. Adults don't see you. Kids do ! I had way more problems with adults jumping in front of the ECV than with kids. Kids would go around the vehicle, adults would walk right in front of it.
The day I wore my Stitch ears on my head I didn't have that problem at all - people could see me. It's amazing what a pair of furry blue & pink ears can do for you.

Last Sept, a man was in a wheelchair because HIS ARM WAS IN A SLING!!!!

I'm guessing you stripped the guy, performed a full medical check up, and therefore know for sure that there was nothing wrong with him except that his arm was in a sling. Right ?

Another thing that I find annoying and aggravating is when other guests walk in front of you, while a family member is trying to take a picture. I understand that people can be distracted in what their doing, however there are times when it's obvious others are trying to take pictures. I also think the people who give other 10 seconds to take the picture and if they don't they will walk in front of them, are just as rude. If that bothers you so much then try go around those people without walking in front of someone just as they are taking a picture.

Okay here is something that makes me insane. When they are loading wheelchairs or ECV's onto the buses- that horrendous beeping sound makes me want to pull my ears off and stomp on them to make it stop!!!:yay: I hate that noise!!! Load a rocketship on the bus- whatever! Just stop that annoying sound!!!:scared:

Dang it. I must have gotten old. I've read all these posts and keep saying, "I didn't let my kids get away with all of this stuff. How come parents let their kids do it now?" Manners and consideration never go out of style. Most annoyances happen because we are not being considerate of others.
I think Heelies are cool. But not in Disney in crowds. Heelies need as much room as skateboards to be safe for all concerned.
Kids should be able to run and play and be happy. But they have to stop running into people in crowds. In May, I was hobbling around Disney with a cane because of degenerative disk disease and sciatic neuropathy. My cane stays close to my body and about on a level with the opposite leg. So many times, people kicked my cane right out from under me because they were in a hurry to get wherever they were going. Or someone with a stroller would ram right into the back of my legs. Or a kid on the run would slam right into me. It is a wonder I didn't wind up on the pavement due to balance issues.
I could only do half days at the parks and had to do 2 down days because of the pain.
I was too embarassed to use an ecv. I didn't want all those stares from people thinking I was using it just because I was overweight.
And yes, when my back doesn't go into spasms from overuse, I move really well. That's probably because I do water aerobics 3 times a week for 1.5 hours each time to keep muscle strength.
Regardless, if we would just be considerate of each other, all of this wouldn't be so much of an issue.
I do my part, you do yours, and we'll all have a good time at Disney.

Overweight people using Main St cars to get from Train Station to the Castle. Come on, there is a reason you are heavy!

Why does it bother you so much?

Personally, I am overweight. I weigh a little over 350 pounds  How did I get this way? I had kids and have asthma, which prevents me from very strenuous exercise. Can I walk in Florida? Absolutely....but it's difficult for me in the humidity with my asthma, not because I'm overweight.

I think you should just mind your own business. Who cares why someone is overweight or handicapped? Honestly, mind your own business and enjoy YOUR vacation so others can do the same. :hippie:

I completely agree with you! :hippie:
