Are you staying in the Renaissance Airport Hotel? We are staying there.
I read on trip advisor that it is very hard to find there shuttle.

Yep... we are staying on points. Well... since you go before I do maybe you can report back on the difficulty of finding it. I guess, you'll have to be the guinea pig. Sorry... I hope it isn't difficult. I'll have to go read those tripadvisor reviews.

I can't wait until the first group goes so we can learn from their experiences...

I am on the first cruise out of Barcelona. Here is what I have experienced with Palo reservations. I was able to make my reservations 90 days out. Palo reservations are hard to get. We got one dinner but there were no brunch reservations to be had. The people that could reserve 105 days out seemed to experience the same issue with brunch reservations.

LOL OK I will report where the shuttle is located.

I was able to book with the Castaway Club last Sunday.
I had a hard time booking Palo couldn't reserve brunch or tea nothing was available. Day of Sea Spa times were booked also. I was amazed how things filled up to quick. Luckily I was able to book every tour we wanted. I heard on the threads, that many tours filled up later that afternoon.

Okay .. I'm starting to officially freak out. This is my first cruise, so I can't book until 75 days out  Are there going to be any excursions left if everyone is a castaway club member. Can you waitlist excursions? What are the chances of them opening up more later on? What time can you sign on to book?

this is my first cruise too, and our 75 day mark was on friday. we got all the excursions we wanted, but we weren't trying for any of the "limited space, reserve early" ones. the only palo that was left was early evening on our first night on the boat which we will probably sill be in BCN at that point, so we will try to get ressies the day of boarding.

Thanks for the boost .. I appreciate knowing and congrats on getting all your choices. I've noticed that none of my first picks say limited availability, so maybe I'll be in luck. I'll be travelling solo with my 16 year old, so I don't really have to worry about Palo's this cruise. We are booked on the EB repo next summer, and she will be 18 then, so look out Palo's, Here we come!!

I was able to get both brunch and tea at Palo. My problem was that the online booking didn't open up until an hour after I expected it, perhaps the daylight savings time issue...but that should go away April 1.

We will be in London, Paris and Barcelona prior to the cruise. What do I need to be able to charge my camera, camcorder, computer, portable dvd player, portatable game systems, etc? I know once on the cruise ship, no problem, but what about before that. Do I need to get a voltage converter? Thanks.

You will definitely need a voltage converter. What I'm going to do is go to my CAA/AAA shop with all my adaptors and ask them what I need. My question is if I have a power bar, can I just get a converter for it???

Please let us know what you discover.

Please make sure that your equipment is capable of being charged at the different voltage - some things are and some not I think.

I speak from experience. Burned out two laptops that I was told did not need converters. At least they were the company laptops and not mine- and it was the company that told me I didn't need converters.

That's why I'm bringing all the adaptors in with me ... at my age, I can't quite read the small print on those things :lmao: so I want someone else to blame!

My question is along the lines of the voltage and plugs in Europe. I know that there is a difference in voltage and plug configuration,

BUT....

What about batteries?
Are they the same over there (Europe) as here (USA)?
Do they vary by Country?
Specifically AAA and AA cells?

If they are the same, how much do they cost? I think that I will be needing normal bateries as a back up to the rechargables for my camera.
