The MCLOVINS Hit the World - HARD!!!!! *COMPLETED*

OH MY GOD A Goofy Movie is cinematic perfection. I have the soundtrack on my iPod and have no shame whatsoever.

I can't waittt to stay at Pop Century. It'll be my first time there and I'm so excited.

I love the picture of the ducks where the one with the green head has his mouth open - it's like he's yelling at you or something. Calm down, duck bro!

Ok, I have a question.

When staying at Pop, do you ever have the strong urge to bust out into *NSYNC's "Pop"? Because I would. Often. Like, every single time the bus pulled into the lot, I'd be all "This must be...POP!" complete with dance moves. Or, I don't know if you watch it, but on Community, there's a character who only ever says "Pop pop!" while raising the roof. I'd be doing that all.the.time. I've definitely gotta stay at Pop sometime because my TR would be AMAZING.

If our May trip works out, two months from this very moment I WILL BE AT DISNEY WORLD. I'm feeling good about it at this point in time. I'm feeling good in general right now after nearly a year of feeling like total crap, so that's a good sign. I'm hopeful for the rest of 2011. Ok wow, this isn't your diary Lia, get back to the report! I know, I know. But I can just FEEL Disney. I really want to make a PTR but I don't want to jinx us. I have even thought of a title!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh I could cry. OK, back to the TR.
Make it, darling. You won't jinx it. I mean, you already thought of a title. You HAVE to do it. And I'm glad you're feeling good in general right now. I'm hoping I'll reach that point soon. Basically all that's keeping me from completely losing it right now is my July trip. Oh, life....

At Disney World everything is better. Everything is heightened. Funny jokes are hilarious and hilarious jokes are, well, forget about it.
Totally. Everything is funnier at Disney.

The Chicken Penne Alfredo looks yummy. As does the Tie-Dye Cheesecake. I could really go for some cheesecake right now.

DUCKS! They're so cute! And friendly-looking. You should've scooped them up and taken them with you to Epcot. I mean, they were waiting for you guys and all. ;)

Hot french guys? Chocolate ice cream? Adorable little children? Illuminations? That pretty much sounds like the best night ever. WHY AM I NOT AT DISNEY WORLD RIGHT NOW?? :sad1: 4 months, Kara, 4 months...

Golly, you're like some sort of duck magnet or something! I wish I was, I'm just a mosquito magnet. :( Great update.....2013 is so far away!!

Mmmmmm, I really want some ice cream now. There used to be this tiny little ice cream stand at my local mall that made the BEST chocolate soft-serve. But one day, they were just gone! They had been there for as long as I could remember, but all of a sudden, then hole in the wall was filled up by the store right next to it. I really miss it now...

Awwww, I LOOOVE kids like that! Haha, you're worried about being creepy? I actually DO take pictures of videos of cute kids I see! Being able to see them so joyful is just a wonderful feeling.

HOORAY FOR POP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You guys were on the 1st floor? Nice! Woow.....you make me really want to be back there......Those scientists should hurry up and build that teleportation machine already.

Those ducks! How cute! I love seeing duck couples like that. Just adorable. We spent a lot of our time at Disney with ducks too.

You know, I'm so regretting the fact that I never got to try that cheesecake. I didn't know it had red velvet on the bottom of it too! It's going to be the first thing I get when I'm at the Pop in 2013.

That sucks!! I hate when awesome businesses/restaurants close.

LOL yeah, my friend has taken pictures of cute kids that come into her library. There's this one little girl named Taylor and she'll text me and be like "guess what Taylor just did!" and even sent me a picture. I just feel weird about it b/c if the parents caught me taking a pic that would be so awkward.

Yeah, I liked the 1st floor. A lot of people complain about noise but we didn't experience that. For me I don't mind what floor I'm on at all.

The ducks are everywhere! It's so fun.

The cheesecake is AMAZING!!! You will love it.

hahaha it really is! I love the music too! I 2 I :music:

The first time I stayed at Pop is one of the most memorable things. You will have the time of your life!!

LOL that was exactly what the duck was doing! We were talking and he was quacking right in our faces. It was so adorable. I love Disney ducks! All ducks really, but the ones at Disney are so used to being around people that they just hang out inches away from you with no problem and I love that.

LOLOL. No, I do not get the urge to burst out into that song BUT that is because the Pop plays the most awesome music of the past 50 years at the resort. It is unique because they don't play Disney's usual area music, they play pop/rock hits spanning from the 50's to the 90's. So you'll hear Like A Rolling Stone by Bob Dylan, followed by Heartbreak Hotel by Elvis, followed by Holiday by Madonna, followed by MMMBop by Hanson, etc. I don't believe I've ever heard *NSYNC there, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were on the 90's playlist... Tearin' Up My Heart or I Want You Back, anyone?

By the way, I must say I love how much of a dedicated *NSYNC fan you still are. I mean, I listen to them from time to time and reminisce, but your tumblr has pretty much turned into a "heckyeahnsync" page, which I fully enjoy!

I really don't want to do the PTR yet, but I will once I actually know for sure that we're going. I've started PTRs in the past only to find the trip not happening, and it was such a bummer. I have to say though, my title is totally awesome and I can't wait to reveal it!!

You are right.. we SHOULD have picked up the ducks and brought them along! What was I thinking? This is why I need you on all my trips. When I become famous, I am hiring you as my personal Disney World Advisor.

It was an amazing night and it only got better!! I love EMH!!! But we had the BEST EMH NIGHT EVER on the last night of our trip...oh man, I can't wait to write about that. It was one of the best experiences of my entire life. COMING SOON!!

Golly, you're like some sort of duck magnet or something! I wish I was, I'm just a mosquito magnet. :( Great update.....2013 is so far away!!

Aww! I guess I am a duck magnet! There are even more duck stories/pictures coming if you can even believe it.

2013 will get here before you know it. Time flies tooooo fast! I am turning 21 in one month and I can't believe it. I feel like I'm 12.

Wow, and most Trip Reports just have pictures of Donald! :lmao::rotfl2:

I haven't been posting regularly, but still reading along and enjoying your report!

I LOVED the music that played at POP! Andrew and I knew every one and always sang along on our way out of and back to our room. I also danced to them too. They were awesome.

Yeah....you're right about getting caught...some parents can get very protective.

That's right! My trip report is a cut above the rest because it features real ducks! :rotfl:

Glad to hear it! Thanks!!!! :goodvibes

I know, it's so much fun. I love hearing a random classic song I haven't heard in awhile, and it fits so well with the whole concept of the resort.

Girl, you don't even know. MY *NSYNC OBSESSION WAS RE-IGNITED AND HAS RETURNED IN FULL FORCE. And frankly I blame Tumblr. I innocently started following an *NSYNC-related blog or two and then everything started spiraling out of control. Now my dashboard is pretty much consistently filled with people posting stuff about JC, Justin, and the gang and I'm just like :teeth: :hyper: ::yes::. It doesn't help that I'm going through my OMG WHEN DID I GET SO OLD AND OMG I DON'T KNOW WHAT I WANT TO DO WITH MY LIFE AND OMG WHY DOES LIFE SUCK SO BAD SOMETIMES phase, so all I wanna do is re-live the late 90s/early 00s glory days.

AH! Getting to hear all of those songs AT DISNEY sounds fabulous. I've gotta stay at Pop sometime just so I can have my own little dance party as I walk around the resort. Not that I don't do that at the other resorts. I mean, I can't walk around the Poly without bobbing my head to the music, but actual popular music would be a nice change. Especially because I pretty much go the entire vacation without hearing any. Like, last year, I walked into Club Cool and they were playing Britney Spears and I was just all, "What are these strange noises coming from the speakers?" So basically that's my long-winded way of saying Pop sounds awesome! :thumbsup2

Personal Disney World Advisor? Dream job right there. Do you think people would hire me to do that? I'd do the planning beforehand and then I'd come on vacation with them and be like their personal assistant. I'll run and get fastpasses, re-fill mugs, babysit their children, stand in the ridiculously long line for ice cream before Wishes, let the kids spin me until I feel like I'm gonna vomit on the Mad Tea Party, take pictures/video of everything, etc etc. It would be spectacular.

Disneygirlfriend! A Goofy Movie! Love it!

Oh my gosh, I love watching little kids in awe!

Hey guys! Sooo... how does this sound: Super early morning flight... In Orlando by like 10-11amish... at Disney by noon-ish... straight to Epcot for Le Cellier??!?!?!! It could happen. Stay tuned...

P.S. At Whole Foods, they now have the environmentally/animal friendly paper straws!!!!!! I can't explain the excitement that I felt when I saw them LOL. My mom brought home a bunch of them for me so I could pretend I am at Animal Kingdom. I think I am going to make some guava juice, turn up the heat in our house to about 100, put on a tank and shorts, and listen to some AK area music while watching Safari videos on Youtube. My bootleg version of Animal Kingdom!

You're so right. Boy, I can't wait to be back at the Pop already.

Me too!! I can't stand it much longer!!!!!!

I hate when I re-fall in love with something that's totally over, so I feel for you! I think I'm finally over my "how did I get so old and waste so much of my life and what do I do now to make the rest of my life awesome" phase, finally. It only lasted a freaking year. I'm just trying to let go of it all. Cause thinking back on this year I spent being really upset? Wasted that too. So nothing good comes of it. You need to start moving on and letting it go cause you're just making it worse, trust me. Sorry if that sounds harsh but I wish someone would have told me this when I started feeling that way.

It is so fun, and I know what you mean about hearing pop music at WDW and having it catch you off guard. You just get so used to the Disney area music that anything else sounds weird.

If only that were a real job! :cloud9:

Hey tinkgurlfriend!!! Same here. When I have kids one day I know I will be taking them to Disney all the time! I can't even imagine how amazing that must be to see it through your own child's eyes. :goodvibes

It's something that is so hard to describe..everything will pull at your heart strings. I got teary-eyed over the most random stuff. Just seeing his joy made the whole trip worth it.

Day 6, Part 4 In Which We Invent The Head Spinning Stomach Turning EPCOT Future World Challenge!!!

After Illuminations, we excitedly headed to Future World for Epcot's evening Extra Magic Hours. The park was open until midnight. As I've said before, we absolutely swear by EMH nights. When I am planning our trips I try and do as many as possible. I know a lot of people experience large crowds, but it's always been the complete opposite for us. We often feel like we have free reign of the park. I'm sure it's not the same during peak season, but in April or October, EMH has always been the most fun time to be at the parks. The best night we EVER had during EMH was actually the last night of the very trip you are reading about... but that's another story for another day! :wizard:

Mom really wanted to ride Soarin' (she hadn't been on since 2006!), but I said it would be smarter to head there later on in the night, because that would probably be the one ride with more of a wait earlier on and I knew the fastpasses would be all out. Instead, we went straight to The Seas With Nemo & Friends to visit our pal the Frogfish!

4762498459_579914c7ff_b.jpg

Remember him? We love him so dearly. As soon as we get to Epcot next trip, I am going to run to the Seas and hope I find him there!

Of course first we rode the Nemo ride and of course I cried. Again. That attraction just gets me every time, but I won't get into why since I'm pretty sure I already went on and on about that a few chapters back.

Next, we headed over to Test Track and Mission Space. They were both basically walk-ons. Oh, let me tell you, we had fun with that. And I mean a lot of fun. We created the epic craziness that I later named "The Head Spinning, Stomach Churning Epcot Future World Challenge!" I don't recommend it for the faint of heart. Basically the HSSCEFW Challenge goes like this: Test Track twice in a row, then Mission Space, then back to Test Track, and Mission Space again. CAN YOU HANDLE IT? Probably not, but you know, not everyone can be as awesome as us ;)

We didn't plan to do it, or plan to actually NAME what we were doing, it was just crazy, fun, aimless running back and forth. Bless our crazy thrill seeking selves!! We walked out of Mission: Space that second time and just immediately headed over to the benches and sat down without saying a word to each other. LOL! After a few seconds of sitting in silence (we must have looked traumatized!) we just looked at each other and started cracking up laughing. It was so insanely fun that there was really nothing to say. We just laughed. It would not be the last time on this trip that we had so much fun that we were just completely speechless and just lost it with laughter.

After recuperating on the bench for awhile, I suddenly got hungry so I went over to a nearby kiosk to get some of that delicious Disney popcorn I dream about when I'm home (Did you know you can buy it online? I haven't done it yet, I feel like it won't be the same). It tastes the best on Main Street, but of course at Epcot it's scrumptious too. There was a really nice guy from Japan working at the kiosk and he told me I should wait about 10 minutes so a new batch of popcorn could be made. There was still a lot of popcorn in the machine though, so I said I would just have that. He again told me I should wait, so I said, "Is the popcorn in there stale or something?" He told me no, but it would be better to have it fresh. Well, I guess I was really hungry or something because I told him to just give me the popcorn that had been sitting there. I tasted it and it was fine so I paid and went back over to the bench where my mom was. I told her the whole thing while we ate a bit of the popcorn and then I put it down on the bench for a second. Suddenly a gust of wind came by and the popcorn went flying! LOL! If you recall, the same thing happened to me at MK a few days before! Unfortunately, this time no adorable ducklings came by to eat the popcorn. My mom said, "See... you should have waited the fresh popcorn!" :rotfl: I turned around and the CM at the kiosk had seen the whole thing and was laughing! He motioned me over and by now the fresh popcorn was almost done. He said, "See... you should have just waited for the fresh batch! This one will be so much better." He refilled it for no charge and you know what, he was right... it was super hot and fresh and tasty and delicious! Patience is a virtue - lesson learned!

After we ate our fresh new popcorn, we headed to Mouse Gears to look around a bit. I have a soft spot for this place because on my solo trip, it was pouring rain and I was walking really briskly through Epcot when my shoe broke! I walked my wobbly, wet, trainwreck with one shoe on behind over to Mouse Gears and bought black glittery Mickey Mouse flip flops. They became my favorite flip flops and I wear them all the time - of course, I was also wearing them this night at Epcot. They are super comfortable and I just adore them.

It was getting really late so we went over to The Land to finally ride Soarin'. I was right, the line had died down big time and there was only a 10 minute wait. My mom was really excited because she didn't remember a lot of details about the ride. She remembered loving it, but not much else. I didn't want to hype it up too much but I did tell her that many people consider this their favorite ride at WDW since I hear that all the time on the DIS.

Unfortunately, we weren't in the front row for the ride - I have to remember to ask if we can wait for front row next time cause it's truly the best - but it was still incredible. I don't care how many times I ride Soarin', it will never ever get old. It leaves me amazed and floored every single time and makes me REALLY want to hang glide in real life. Have any of you ever done that? It must be so scary but I am not one to live life in fear of things so I want to go for it!

At this point, the park was closed so we slowly meandered out. There was almost no one around. I wish I had taken a pic of empty Epcot, but I was just soooo tired even with my afternoon nap. I have no pictures from this entire night and the next morning. It had been quite a night, and quite a trip! I couldn't wait to get back to Pop and put my head on that pillow.

As we boarded the bus, an Epcot CM standing nearby said something so cute to us that I immediately had to tweet it:

Watch your favorite movie tonight: the one on your eyelids. 12:22 AM Apr 17th via txt

Up next: Mayhem at another early Toy Story Mania morning plus a lot of running around and World Showcasing...

I hate when I re-fall in love with something that's totally over, so I feel for you! I decided last night that I'm giving myself until the end of March to sulk, and then when Spring Quarter starts, no more obsessing over the past. It's time to grow up, move on, and get serious about my future. Of course, I will never completely grow up, but it's time to accept that I'll be 21 in 4 months and I can't be sad about that forever. So, YAY POSITIVE THINKING! :yay:

That sounds like an awesome night at Epcot. I love evening EMH too, mainly because the parks are MAGICAL at night, but in our experience, they're always pretty crowded in the summer, so lately we've been planning around them. I'd love to be able to go in the off-season sometime so I can fully experience the "I have the parks all to myself!" feeling. It has to be amazing.

THE FROGFISH! I am totally going to say hello to the little guy in July. I need to experience his awesomeness in person.

 I would fail at the HSSCEFW Challenge. I can't do Mission:Space. I'd be too claustrophobic. But my sister would love it.

Mental Note: Always wait for fresh popcorn. :rotfl:

Watch your favorite movie tonight: the one on your eyelids.
Awwwwwww. What a great CM! It's people like him/her that make Disney so special. :wizard:

Whoa. You guys have stomachs of steel:worship:.
Reading this makes me want to be at Epcot, like NOW.

I guess I've done my job as a Trip Reporter then! ;) Thanks for reading!

Good for you! The way I see it is like... bottom line: I can't go back. Ever. No chance. Not possible. So I might as well go full speed ahead forward. That probably sounds like a dumb Hallmark card or something but it's true. Good luck girl!!

Yeah, I imagine the EMH nights in July are probably kind of a nightmare but oh man, if you ever get to go during a less crowded time, make EMH a priority because it's so much fun.

My mom is claustrophobic and she loves Mission: Space which is so weird! She sometimes even gets claustrophobic at our mall which is like the biggest one in NJ..... but not in a spaceship simulator. I guess it's Disney magic :wizard:

Yeah, that quote has really stayed with me! I'd remember it even if I hadn't made a note of it. I need to start saying it to people.

You know what..........I've never had Disney popcorn! :scared1: Maybe I should. I worked for a movie theater for a year and I'm still kinda burned out on it. I wanna do the HSSCEFW Challenge next time I'm there! :woohoo:

You should try it. I think it's better than movie theatre popcorn, but that could just be that extra Disney magic. Just like I can have vanilla ice cream with a chocolate shell any time but when I eat the Mickey bar at Disney is way better. :wizard:
