The May 2007 Rate/Code Watch

We are another dreaded family of five looking to add a few "room-only" days to the beginning of our Land and Sea Adventure. Can't wait!!!!!! :Pinkbounc

We are planning for May 12-20...hoping we can really afford to stay that long! We might have to dump a night...who knows? Haven't booked anything yet. We went in May of 04 and Disney Visa deals came out around October-ish, so I'm holding out a while.

We're thinking of staying at the Pop, since it's my mom's 60th birthday. I think she'd really get into the theming. My youngest DS will also be turning 8 on the trip.

I'll check this thread often for updates! Thanks

That's when we're thinking of going also and like you, I'm holding off booking anything hoping for a deal to come out. Last year was the first time we went in May (usually in March) and the weather was great!!! The day before we came home it was 97 degrees - just my kind of weather!!!
:goodvibes

Yes, you can apply whichever discount is a better deal for you. So you can book now with the AAA rate and then later, if Disney releases a better deal that saves you more money, just call your AAA rep and they'll switch it. You can't stack discounts though. One or the other...

I wouldn't wait to book - I've heard that some AAA rooms are sold out already! Crazy isn't it? I think you can wait to join AAA til a later date and still book now - as long as you are a AAA member at time of travel :confused3 This is second hand info, though. It's only a few weeks, so you may decide to wait it out! We just joined AAA this past summer when I got a special offer in the mail. I've never used them for anything other than that discount when I booked my trip last month. I must say our AAA reps are C-L-U-E-L-E-S-S when it comes to Disney travel, but I have heard some people have great reps. Mine are giving out VERY old, inaccurate info related to the DDP (such as - kids are aged 3-11!!), you have to pay for parking at the parks if you don't book thru AAA and get their special diamond pass  and other stuff. I argued with the rep for a few minutes about the parking thing before I just gave up. :sad2: I feel better having AAA though, since DH and I both own older cars (87 BMW and 97 Eagle Vision).

Any other ?s, let me know.

my AAA rep seems very knowledgeable thankfully
i am thinking of coronado {nice theme... dedicated bus}
casitas waterview 5a upper level
..ever been
in your opinion is dining plan is too much of a luxury
planning trip 4 my soon 2 b2 wife and her 15 y.o. son
just want to do my best at setting this up
i really appreciate all your help
thank you

Just thought I'd let everyone know some of the rates that I've been getting. All prices are in US Dollars. First, DW and I were thinking about splitting our stay btwn POP and POFQ. We're going Apr. 29 - May 11, 6 nights at each resort. We also want the dining plan so we'd have to buy ticket with each ressie. Here we go:

Round 1:
6 nights Pop, standard room
9 day MYW + PH + waterparks
DDP
AND
6 nights POFQ, standard room
1 day MYW base ticket
DDP
AAA Discount
$3222.00

Round 2:
12 nights POFQ, standard room
10 day MYW + PH + waterparks
DDP
AAA Discount
$3457.68.

So as you can see for a mere $235 we can stay in the moderate resort for the entire stay. Not a bad deal eh? The folks at Disney quoted me $3792.00 for "Round 2". In all actuality, Round 1 was more like round 3 and round 2 was more like round 10 but everyone knows what I'm talking about. :rolleyes1

I've never been to CSR but the photos are beautiful. We used the DDP last July and loved it!! We are using it again next May. I highly recommend it for a hassle free trip with plenty of incredible food! :thumbsup2 Glad to hear your AAA rep has a clue ;)

I definitely recommend the meal plan (DDP) - maybe you misunderstood my post. It was a great deal and I wouldn't want to go without it. :thumbsup2

CSR Is a great resort! My DB and I stayed there on our last trip in May! The grounds are beautiful and there is a lot to do around the resort. Its the only mod resort with a fitness center, it has a themed pool which is great for the kids and a few quiet pools, really efficient bus service, and an awesome lobby and food court area. I highly recommend the resort! The only thing that is a slight negative is that it's large, so it requires a good deal of walking. My DB and I love to work out so the walking was actually really nice, especially at night around the lake! O ya, you can also rent boats at the marina!

It seems may was a good choice .
moderate crowds,weather ,bus waits
what kind of perks from disney have come out the last few years?
booking bthru AAA waiting for perks

The best deal we've had so far is back in May of 2004 which was the "buy four days get three free"....whoopee!! I wish, wish, wish that would come back for next May!!! pixiedust:
