I was an OPI(ate) addict until I stumbled upon the Ulta x dri. It was on sale for only 2.00 for two weeks but now it is back to 6.00 a bottle. I quick dry drops but I did not like them as much as the clear polish quick dri. It gives a shiny coat while the drops IMHO are more greasy. OPI is good but you can get two uLTAs for the same price and if they are on sale you can get 6 ! I have been using both the ULTA x dri and polish for almost 3 weeks now and I still have NO complaints and see no differnce from OPI. I have also used Beauty Cafe for 18 a bottle and here too I am not seeing a differnce. Infact I could use one coat of the ULTA but I don't I use two to manicure adn then each night I add a coat and a coat of quick dri. takes five minutes snd keeps my polish for 6 to 8 days depending if I use harsh cleaners and really bat my hands around. Normal wear I would say averages 7 days.

I hate to sound like a dummy but can I just ask for clarificaton?

What exactly is the stuff at ULTA called? clear polish quick dri? Is it a polish then? A top coat? or is it drops?

I saw Nail Solutions Quick Dry Drops at the Ulta website. Is that not it??

Thanks for your help! :)

CR what is potion #9 who makes it. I have not tried it. I am not buying any make up for two weeks but this is not make up ....it is for my hair.

Sebastian makes it. I have wavy/curly hair and I don't care for Potion 9. It's ok but not great. I really don't like the smell of it either.

My current favorite hair product is Redken Ringlet. It's awesome. It's hard to find and when I do find it in stock I buy 2 or 3.

Ok, I'm so confused. I want to buy some sort of quick drying spray or drops for my nail polish and I just don't know what to buy or where to get it.

I have a solar speed spray that smells like Almonds that my manicurist uses but it doesn't really help.

I almost bought the OPI drying drops for $12.50 but I didn't want to waste $12 if it doesn't work. Maybe they have something similar at the Sally Beauty Supply store??

Any recommendations or reviews on what works? Where can I get it?

Thanks!

I have been using Orly Flash Dry Drops from Sally Beauty supply. They are not greasy or oily and I think add a little shine to my polish.

Price isn't too bad, and they will probably last a decent amount of time. I think it was well worth the purchase because I don't have to keep touching up my nails because I messed one up before the polish was dry. With these drops my nails are dry enough to do just about anything in about 15 minutes if I skip the top coat and only do base and two polish coats. About 20 minutes if I do the top coat.

No, the price isn't bad at all compared to OPI.

So can you tell me how it works? It's drops? So do you just put a drop on each nail and spread it around or are you actually brushing it on?

Thanks again!

They are drops. The "lid" is like a medicine droper. All you do it put one or two drops on each finger and go. You don't spread it around or anything. I personally tend to put 3 or 4 drops on just so I get good coverage on my entire nail, but you don't have to.

MY FAVORITE (This really works) Plain raw baking potato! Slice 2 pieces off your potatoe about 1/8 inch thick. Apply to each eye for about 60 seconds - viola no more puffy eyes! This does wonders believe in me!

I use cucumber for depuffing my eyes.

Will either of these work UNDER the eyes? I ate salty chips & now I'm all puffy underneath, instead of having dark circles. I can't use Preparation H as it is way too greasy & will make me break out.

x dri is the name and it was not capitalized that is why I guess you might be confused. It is in the Ulta polish section and while clear it has a slight blue tint. They do not have it on the website that I could see when I checked it out a few days ago but they have it in the store.

ETA I see you live in Ma there are a couple of Ultas in MA one I know of is in Everett also Natick, South Attleboro and Plymoth

Cold cucumber will work to get the puffiness down. I know what you mean about puffy underneath and that is what I use it for.

I LOVE MO.It is MUCH cheaper on www.cosmeticmagic.com. It will help and if you check out the website you might find some other products that deal with curly hair from MO. I must say I have the no frzz that Sephora is featuring now and I do not like it as much as MO. I also use the MO shaping cream when I dry my hair. I have used cosmeticmagic several times and they have been reliable and will ship free over 40.00. IN addtion, if you get the order in before 3 usually you get it in two days. Check it out.

It does not weigh my hair down and while my hair is not curly it does tend to frizz and will curl to some extent in the heat. I must say I have NEVER found anything that worked in the heat at Disney in August. WEll it is not so much the heat it is the frequent rain and then heat and humidity. I have not heard of potion #9 I must have missed that post. Okay here is a suggestion...don't laugh. Try the smaller bottle of MO then if you hve a dishwasher or a very steamy shower stand over the steam that comes off the dishwasher or in the bathroom and you might find if it works.

Who makes potion # 9?

Thanks for the input. I will try the MO...in a small bottle and test it!!! I'll let you know how it turns out. I may not have time to get it back from the website mentioned b/c we leave in 13 days:dance3::dance3:!!!!!! But I will report back so you will know how it does. Lisa

I would call them they have always got it to me in two days but if you call to put in your order they could reassure you.

BTW are you going to WDW? We will be there at the same time...wear a MO bottle on your arm as a bracelet so I will know you if I run into to you. LOL:rotfl:

*Attention, Everyday Minerals fans!!*

There is a Limited Time Offer brush available right now- the Retractable Flat Top- that is awesome!! I don't know how long it will be around- I have the Retractacle Kabuki that was available earlier this summer, and I love it!! Perfect for travel or for on the go, tucked into a purse. Cost is $10, and worth it.

If you like the other EM brushes, and want to get in on this one, check out the site now- https://www.everydayminerals.com/index.php

LaLaLaLa i am not listening to you....I have made it 7 days w/out buying make up or anything make up related.

Maybe Cat should change the thread title from Makeup Clique to Makeup Addicts. :teeth:

Well, I am now the proud owner of a smudge pot. :daisy: I used my Ulta 20% off coupon and got it in black for $16. I figured now is the time to give it a shot. I came home and dug out my liner brush and tried it. Now I've got eyes that would make Amy Winehouse jealous. :scared:

Guess I'll have to practice some more tomorrow.

:lmao: Remember moderation and that it is easier to add to than take away. But, I do admit it took me a little while when I started to use Fluidline and getting the line just right. Now it is almost an art and I rarely mess up. I actually tried to use a pencil the other day and it was really weird.

:lmao: I was thinking the same thing. I really want to order some more stuff from them, but I keep putting it off since I bought so much stuff lately. But, man it is hard.

For some reason Saturday seems to be my most difficult day. I think well I worked all week I need to reward myself ...funny thing is I am off in the summer....so why am I rewarding myself?
