We have a little over 450 days until WBTA.... Q&A/ GTKY time

What is the first thing you are going to pack in your suitcase???

Alright peeps... I have been trying to stay away from all the unnecessary drama simply because I deal with enough of it in my "real life". So as in one of my favorite episodes of Gilmore Girls (yup, don't laugh at me :-) )

Let's start over...

I like shrimp....do you like shrimp???

I like the little shrimp you get from Buffalo Wild Wings :yay:

Honestly, first thing is the FE followed closely by the magnets for decorating our door

Haha...priorities, priorities :lmao:;):cool1:

Ours is usually our planning folder (Itineraries, confirmation numbers, passports, etc) into our carryon and then underwear. I can buy (or re-wear clothes), but dirty undies are GROSS:eek::crazy2:

Underwear. No, fancy dresses. No, cute shoes. Umm... I'll throw all those things in first.

I like the wings you get from B-Dubs (Buffalo Wild Wings nickname around here). Mmmmm, want some wings, now! Nom, nom, nom.

Bathing suit. And sunglasses. Then everything else. If you knew me, this would make perfect sense:rotfl:

I have never eaten here, but have one really close to home. Want to try it, just haven't yet.

Not so much a shrimp fan right now. Long story short. Took a cruise in Jan from Texas. Went to Bubba Gumps to have shrimp for the first time. Apparently, I had too much shrimp. Way too much. Don't want to ever see another shrimp....for a long time. LOL

My suitcase is already packed with all my cruise clothing. I don't really wear that type of thing any other time so it stays there and comes out for a wash and iron just before we leave ... plus I will need to add in a few new items.

OHHH tough one! I'm one of those that organizes everything on my bed and then throws it into my suitcase so probably shoes first since they go at the end so that they are on the bottom when transporting my luggage (correction - obviously only in that position when I'm transporting my luggage since we've all seen the pictures of luggage at the airport, the port and especially that little room on your deck just prior to them being delivered!!). :rotfl2:

Count me in the non-shrimp group! Actually I'm not fond of seafood at all. Not sure why and yes I have tried some of it (not all but it's a mental thing now). My oldest son (who raised this kid!) is very fond of it along with his DW. So I am not totally repulsed by it but you won't see it on my plate.

Back on packing and drinking and eating and fun.

I love shrimps, but the first thing I am packing, difficult. Cruise documents, tickets and pasports. And then I usely pack to much and had to unpack lots of things because of weight.

Ugh! Hate that weight issue!! It's hard to pack less than 50 lbs for a two week cruise (okay even for a one week cruise!!).:lmao:

I am looking at getting some really lightweight luggage cases so I can maximise what goes inside ... just wondering if anyone has Sub Zero G luggage and do you recommend it at all ?

This cruise is going to be hard for us. We will have DS and DD with us and possibly an infant. I have NO idea how we are going to pack "lightly". We will totally be THAT family in the airport and I know it. :rotfl2: So if your are flying out of MCO to Barcelona and you see THAT family with a crap-ton of suitcases, bags, strollers and children. Yup that is us :thumbsup2

Wow! I haven't been on Disboards much recently because it seems each time I get on, there is another heated "discussion". I am a happy member of the WBTA 2011 and enjoyed getting to know so many people from that cruise. With that being said, I see valid points on both sides. It does appear to be a "us vs them" division in this group. Whether it can be fixed, I don't really know. I have enjoyed chatting with all, but it's gotten too tense and there is just too much drama. So-o-o-o-o-o, I will be glad to head up the mixology and rum tasking groups (so continue to pm me if you want to join!), but I think I will take a vacation from here, and hopefully in a few months, things will have gotten better. Right now.....this site is not a happy place to be. Please keep in mind, treat people as you would like to be treated. Hope to chat with you all later on down the line! Hope everyone has a wonderful day! :goodvibes

We have them and I can recommend them but what I will say is don't let dcl get their hands on them. Collected mine Saturday morning and it was completely busted, handle snapped and frame broken. But they are super lightweight and saves kgs for more clothes

My only comment is multiple attempts to ignore and sweep under carpets have been done before. Obviously that has not worked. To quote Narcotics Anonymous (though it is frequently attributed to Albert Einstein): "Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

What a bummer! When we were in Galveston, I saw how they were loading the luggage and it is amazing to me more suitcases are not broken. We got new Rimowa (two 32 and two deluxe hybrids) Rimowa2 last year and they seem to hold up, though scratched, to DCL baggage abuse.

We usually keep our suitcases for more than 20 years so it pays us to pay a bit more for them. We can still use the Hartman suitcases we bought back in the 1980's for short trips or car trips.

This is what has always put us off buying them. DH has always thought they were flimsy feeling. the frame just never seemed strong enough to withstand anything.
