Back to the T Shirt conversation.
It worked very well last time with several t shirt designs and people could chose one that suited them and have it put on whatever t shirt that suited them. Not everyone needs the exact same design or shirt. This makes it easier for people to get their own done.

That's what happened when I worked for a cruise line. When we were in dry dock and didn't have any passengers we all got roped in to do other stuff. Mainly heavy duty cleaning. It was hard work but we all enjoyed it as we got more time off. We also were put up in hotels as the AC was down for maintenance and we were in Singapore so way too hot to try and sleep with no AC.

This is written with the greatest respect but I feel it's about time we part ways.
No I'm not leaving the cruise lol, your stuck with me BUT!

Isn't it time this all stops,it's not fair on new cruisers,its not fair on the old cruisers. We all joined this page with such excitement for this cruise and this needs to continue.

I RESPECTFULLY suggest that the other Facebook group now asks permission to have their own Dis thread. This will enable people to have a choice about where they post and the people they want to socialise with. This will stop any future conflict from happening as its the same people pushing over and over, and its the same people getting targeted over and over. There is already a FE group and dining companions being organised by them so really there is no place here on this thread they need to be.

Like government has different sides, it's ok for this cruise to splinter into other groups as well. Lets be adults and just agree to disagree and calmly part ways.

I think you have a good point there ... we definitely need to reduce the conflict and the drama on this cruise thread and make it a happy place again where new and old cruisers feel comfortable. It would lovely if we could see beyond this and all interact in a mature and friendly manner so perhaps those who feel the need to over-react, and jump up and criticise people at every opportunity would appreciate having their own DIS group as they already have their own FB group and are clearly perfectly happy with that solution. The conflict has certainly disappeared from the original FB group since those who weren't happy there decided to set up their own group.

That is very true, the FB group has Been so much calmer since the more opinionated of the group migrated to another group of their own. They have indeed set up their own fish extender group, linked dining and tastings, so as Sarah said, if there is continued critiscing and rudeness Maybe an additional dis group needs forming for them

I'm sure it is not intended, but this comes off as back-handedly rude, placing the blame on other people. Everyone has contributed to the tone and environment around here. It's not us vs them, it's everyone and everyone needs to apologize and move on. Comments like these don't help the tone, even though I'm sure you were not meaning to insult the other facebook group.

Please, imagine if you were in the other group and someone said something like that about you. It would probably raise your hackles, make you defensive, maybe even hurt your feelings. And while I'm sure you didn't do it on purpose, at least for the time being while everything is raw, need to be even more aware than normal about how things can be perceived and work harder to be kind to each other.

Pat, that was me, as you know, for the pub crawl. I tried to get customink.com to do them but they wouldn't touch them with the Disney artwork incorporated into the design. Luckily I have a bunch of graphic designer friends that hooked me up with a local screen printer that would do it and get me an even better deal than I was finding online.

I had to ship each person's t-shirt individually prior to cruise, which was about $5 each. Because of cost, I only shipped to those in the US, as everyone wants WAY too much to ship internationally anymore.

For shipping, just out of curiosity, would it be cheaper or around the same, to ship it right to Barcelona? Still charge everyone something, but then, the whole order goes into the one place 'almost' everyone is going prior to the cruise. As well, for those who aren't there, the shirts can then be brought onboard without the full weight of all of them in a suitcase. Just wondering. As I would need something shipped to Canada, which is so expensive (I use the US to ship to and from, but for others in Canada).

My suggestion Susan is that you do not know the full story behind why the group set up their own fb group in the first place. You should maybe not pass judgement on their behaviour and how they may feel when indeed they have caused an awful lot of the upset. I know exactly how I'd feel if it was the other way around because quite frankly in the past few moths it has been.


It appears to me that you are continuing to drag up issues you had almost three weeks ago and what has gone on today has nothing to do with it.

Your explanation about the TA concerned in your earlier post shows that you do not fully understand what has gone on, so maybe best not to attack people when your ball is certainly in the wrong court.


I am not prepared to get into continued battles about problems from weeks ago and maybe as you've mentioned your feelings on the matter, once again leave others to decide if they want to add to you website that you have personally set up for the cruise.

There isn't a certain social group. The activities are open to the whole group and as explained to you many times before, things such as the CG only have limited spaces as well as the brunch.

I'm not casting blame on anyone. I've explained that several times, but I'll repeat it again. I am not casting blame on any side.

It's very true, I do not know the history of any of this. But I'm advocating for all sides to let go of that history because it isn't making anyone happy. It isn't making this for a pleasant place to be. It isn't improving anyone's cruise.

Everyone will have to swallow their pride/hurt/frustration, let go of that, and try to move forward in a positive fashion for it to work.

Maybe it won't be possible, but that makes me sad because I think everyone here is wonderful at heart.

While it was not at all intended to be rude Susan it is indeed an unfortunate fact ... there were a lot of past issues in the FB group which were simply resolved when those who were not happy with the way things were in the original group decided to set up their own group. This is merely suggesting that might be an option to resolve the ongoing problems on the DIS thread.

Wow. As an adult reading this, someone who has enjoyed the friendships growing on EACH facebook page, AND the Dis, I take complete and udder offense to this statement.

While I have NOT in the least bit been argumentative on either of these forums, I have recently posted my 'opinion' about the post from the other day.

Annie, while I do not know you, and will not presume to think your post was not rude, I will say this. Have you ever begun to think, that it is because of some on the ORIGINAL facebook group, that there has been another group formed. Have you stopped to think, that hey, maybe I'm one of the opinionated ones?

I have joined both groups, as I enjoy the commentary, advice and planning from people in all groups. BUT, for you to say that the 'more opinionated' people have left.....and brush everyone with one stroke, is irritatingly wrong.

Do YOU know why there was a new facebook page created?

Again, I will say. I have enjoyed BOTH groups. I am thoroughly enjoying getting to know everyone I am going to be cruising with. BUT, I am tired of the ranting and the negative responses people get for giving an opinion.

As well, why should there be 2 DIS groups for this cruise? Why split? Because it takes the people that you seem to conflict with, out of your picture? I think it's a waste, and a shame, to split the group.

I don't mean to come across that way, and I do apologize if it has.

IRL, I'm a pacifist and a mediator. Some of the tactics that work well in person may not be as effective online when you can't see my face and body language, but I do appreciate you giving me the benefit of the doubt and recognizing that I'm not trying to be hurtful in any way, I'm trying to be over-cautious because of all the hurt feelings involved.

Indeed it isn't ... but then neither is raking it all up all the time. We have all tried on countless occasions to reconcile differences, wipe the slate clean, move on etc, but it has proved difficult if not impossible.

I wasn't telling you what to do, I apologize if it seemed like that. But as I bolded in my statement, is that if people want for the tone to improve, we will all have to work together. If you don't want to do that, I can't make anyone. I will freely say that it would make me sad and disappointed if we couldn't work together.
