i was thinking that too liesbeth, surely if DCL broke it you could claim? I know you normally can with airlines so assume cruises would do the same thing

Please stop the personal attacks, name calling, arguing and other assorted drama. If it continues, this thread will be closed.

Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

That's not good. Can you repair it or do you have to buy new ones.
Can you claim DCL for it?

I have Samonite Metatrack bags. One large and one cabinsize. They are lightweigt and strong. Not cheap so I hope the last many years.

I filled in a claim form at the port but I have a feeling they are going to try and encourage me to claim through my travel insurance. I don't want to do this as the excess will be as much as the case, and it was them that broke it.

just don't back down and insist that they sort it, why should your insurance pay out when its their fault?

I was given contact details for the company in Spain, which we tried calling yesterday and they had no idea what we were even saying. Might just try dcl direct number today

Hello group - I have a question about how the "tastings" work. On our 14night Oct Wonder Cruise to Hawaii - we signed up for tastings with DCL, when we boarded the ship.

We had a DIS Board group and Facebook group prior to that cruise - but there was no "DIS" Tasting organization.

Does anyone know - will DCL have sign ups for tastings that they are scheduling throughout the cruise (for others and non-DIS'ers to sign up for?)
Or will the only tastings offered be the ones that this DIS group is arranging?

For example - is there a chance there will be 2 Martini tastings offered (1) through DIS + one through DCL = 2 times the Martinis? :woohoo:

Does anyone know??

Thanks,
Sherri

The private tastings that DCL will let us schedule (and it's still up to them which ones and how many) are totally separate from the tastings they will offer on board to all cruisers. So yes - twice the martinis!!

DCL have their own tasting session regardless of whether or not we have any private sessions booked. So if you're on a dis organised one you can still get to take part in others.

Double bubble!

I would like to politely and calmly clear up something.

NOBODY is banned from the FE or otherwise, yesterday got very silly and way out of control. Everybody is welcome, if the two Facebook groups want to merge then that's cool also. If the moderators read this I would please ask them to re consider people's infractions as yesterday's events were a weird freak episode that hopefully we all promise to never repeat.

Thank you, Hazel and Annie!!! I hope the two groups will come together. The more FEs, the better! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Feeling nostalgic as I just received an invite to my 10 year High School Reunion. Here is another "Get to Know You" question :-)

What was your HS mascot?

Mine was the Kicking Mules, I have my 35th this summer.

We were the Lasers. And of course I was in school when all of the Austin Powers movies came out so you can only imagine the commentary at games, etc.

Didn't have a mascot in any of my schools. Don't think it happens in the UK ... well at least not in Wales anyway.

Not in Essex either :( must be an American thing

It seems to be a US thing Sarah. Our HS was split into houses that competed with each other, I was in Scott (of the Antarctic), there was also Hillary (Sir Edmund) but I don't remember the other 2 but I am sure they were named after famous explorers. I think I did well to remember 2 out of 4, its 30 years ago I left.

Perhaps it is an American thing. Our college and professional teams have them too. We were the Pandas, but I went to an all girls school so having a cute animal was ok. Our University of California Santa Cruz's is a slug - but you expect something non-traditional from them.

Wow. Learn something new every day. What do they call the sports teams that play at the schools? Like the school basketball team.
