Any chance we can join the fun?

Me, DW and DS-to-be (due date of October 13th) have just booked to go on the WBTA!

Needless to say, we're a little excited and would love to speak to some other guys that are going as well. :)

:welcome: Aboard!!! And congratulations on the new little cruiser!!

Welcome aboard.. I recognise the name from elsewhere :thumbsup2

Isn't it odd that we hardly ever visit the sites in our own "backyard?" I've spent more time on holiday outside the US than here at home (not even counting my deployed time with the Marine Corps ;) ).

If you do make it to Romania, don't bother with Bucharest - well, maybe the Peoples' Palace - go to Transylvania. Brasov is a beautiful, historic town with so much to see and do in the area.

I understand the logistics nightmare of moving such a large group. I know you'll do brilliantly!

I find it unbelievable that you haven't visited all those amazing places in your own backyard Michael. It is our big dream to do some American road-trips and have a massive list of trips we want to do and places we want to see in the USA. ( and before we get too old to enjoy the experience )

Also need to see a lot more of Europe. Transylvania sounds lovely but we would need to watch out for the vampires !!

Welcome aboard to you and your growing bump. Wishing you well with your pregnancy and birth. This could be our youngest cruiser maybe ?????

They are all spoiled, as rescues should be. They have enough house manner to not be too obnoxious and that's fine with us. All are/were "special needs" (except maybe Luna) who were unlikely to be adopted (seniors, shy, "defective"), so we took them. They are fabulous dogs and we wouldn't trade them for the world! :lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc

Your dogs are all so cute and you can tell they have so much personality from those photos and descriptions. Thank goodness for special people like you Pat who look out for these abandoned dogs :sad1::sad1:

Hey guys -
I just booked the EBPC in Sept as a bday gift to my mom. We are very excited but I hope this doesn't mean I will have to cancel this one!!! I'm keeping this one booked for now but we'll see if we can afford this by the tine I finish paying for EBPC! Personally I would prefer the WBTA if it ends up we can only do one, but I know my Mom had a dream of doing a PC cruise. She turns 80 in August so wanted to do something big for her...

Anyone out there who has done both and would like to share which one they preferred?

I was looking at the military rates on that one, going "hmmm..." Would love to do it, but doubt we could swing it this year.

I hope you get to do both!!

Linda, are you and Bruce booked for cruise following the Wbta? I hope the house stuff settles down soon.

I'm now booked - I have just returned from the EBTA 2013 crossing and booked whilst on-board.

There seem to be so many WBTA2014 sites, facebook group etc, it's hard to work out which one to use :confused3:confused3:confused3

I deliberately didn't sign up here until I had the booking confirmation in hand, but at least I have a fair amount of time left to try to catch up with everything.

I agree, I am not a big Facebook user, keep getting notifications and try read them but don't get the point when there is a thread here. I can only assume others find it easier to use than I do.

I post on here and Dibb as I know a few members on both although I can't get much enthusiasm for posting on either about somthing thats 16 months away, I have 3-4 vacations to plan before this cruise so its on the back burner for me til next year.

I couldn't agree more! You have cheered me up a little, I was getting a bit fed up and feeling left behind on here, but seriously..it's still too far away and I too have 3-4 other trips to plan for before I can turn my mind to this. Doesn't mean I am not looking forward to it...oh yes..I am...but I will dip in and out occasionally until nearer the time, and hope that there are still some activities and meets left for us to join. Working full time doesn't leave me a lot of time to devote to multiple threads and sites.
I do like the FB thread, though, mainly because it has morphed from an original WBTA reunion thread. And I find it easier to check FB as I am on there all time anyway.

Regards
Lyn

Welcome!! There are a couple of people here who just finished the EBTA, too.

Really, everything you need to know is on page 1 here. The organizers are great about updating their info and answering questions, so feel free to contact them with questions.

Welcome aboard! I just booked the sept PC cruise. How was yours? Any must -do excursions?

Been home from our WBPC for 2 weeks and am going through major DCL withdrawal! Really need to start focusing on this one now.

How was the experience of going through the Panama Canal? And other than that, what are the highlights of a PC cruise versus a TA cruise? Trying to decide which one to go on... THanks in advance!

This will be my second TA. I've done 3 PC. The PC, for me, was the trip of a lifetime - through the canal is up close and personal with one of the wonders of the world, plus my first time to South America.

The TA, for me is a close second. I LOVE Barcelona, and the long string of sea days. I think you should do both, at some point.

Officially - WELCOME!!

I do check the FB post regularly since I am on FB keeping up with the family but I do miss the chatter on the DIS. We hit 10 threads before our 2010 WBTA but at this point I don't see coming close to that since so much daily information (on peoples day to day lives) goes on FB. You get the cruise info here but you don't get the regular chatter you used to get prior to FB. I do think it will pick up especially once we pass the one year mark and then after the holidays!
