Mornin' Maelstromers!

Em'smom - I saw that Maelstrom thread too. I had to stay away because I would have posted something totally inappropriate and it looks as if those people were serious! :rotfl2: Also great story and pic's!

Kim - saw your post over there! Very helpful! ;) Now that you've seen Napolian D - you'll have to quote it! That's all my DD does. "you eating those tots?" It's a whole new secret language.

Artsy, fartsy, GA. You are, girlfriend!! Anyone who can sew in my opinion is right up there with the best! (nice catch on the typo :teeth: )

Lou - still "clowning around" :rotfl:

Lala.........lalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalala

LLK - great bilingual fart story. Learning is good here too! Now we all know how to say fart in Italian :rotfl:

Chappie:  Any good dreams last night????

All Maelstromers:

I have to get to the grocery store or my family will starve!

Then off to the Ice Skating Banquet. DD is getting an award and she doesn't know about it. So, shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :thumbsup2 She is the newbie in the club, and sometimes feels a little "out of it" She did really well this year and set the club record for the most tests passed in a year - 9. That's what the award is for. She'll be thrilled. Momma is so proud! :goodvibes

Have a great Saturday everyone.

I'll try to check in after the banquet.

:moped: pit-ta-teel - that one is for Zzub!

Ta-ta.....is a fastpass!

ok folks, I am wide awake, board to tears and it is 3 am, no matter what time my posting clock thingamagiggy says, and I feel like boring you to death with some pictures of Emily and me at Disney.

But first a little story. Maybe not so little, sorry.

When I was a kid my mom and aunt used to drive us all (I am one of five kids remember)down to Disney every year during presidents week. Why mom and aunt? Because my aunt is a saint (mom is too) and my dad never wanted to go. Really she is a saint. Five kids, none of which were hers and she split the bill halvsies with my mom the whole way. And she put up with us and she didn’t kill any of us, which I am sure we would have deserved at several points during those trips. We did this trip for about ten or twelve years in a row, and it never got old.

My father never went with us. He hated playgrounds, never went there either, he would see all the possible ways for kids to get hurt. He also hated the Disney parks, for good reason I guess. He and my mom brought my two older sisters there in the early 70's, maybe 72 or 73? Anyway, I wasn’t born yet, so it was before 74. They were walking around the park and my oldest sister was following my dad as they were walking down main street. You know the way that kids do...mom has on blue shorts and sandals...dad has tan shorts and sneakers....

So as they are all walking along, my sister holds my father’s hand and turns out, that isn’t dad. She had been following the wrong shorts for a while. Luckily the park wasn’t so crowded and the family she was following were really nice. They put her on a garbage can and left her there. No, they didn’t leave her, but they did stand her on top of the garbage can. Which was really helpful because my dad is pretty darn tall. He was about to have a heart attack because his little girl was missing, but luckily they found each other. Anyway, it was thirty years before he went to Disney again if you get the idea of how much he hated it.

Anyway, we used to drive from NY and make the trip in a day and half. Most of the way mom would yell that she would “turn the car around RIGHT NOW” if we didn’t behave....but we never believed her because we knew that she wanted to be there as much as we did.

We loved these trips. Absolutely loved them. When I read about everyone’s special memories of their parents on a certain ride or in a certain area of disney, I think about my mom and my aunt. And for me it isn’t one ride or area, it is the whole world! And different stretches of I 95. I can picture us all at different spots throughout the years. Pointing out signs for ‘South of the Border’ for about 100 miles before we get there. The first official sighting of a palm tree, stomping our feet and pounding our hands on the car roof when we finally cross the florida border. Depression that sinks in when you realize florida is a long state to drive through also. And the joy of actually stopping and settling in at the hotel, (no Disney hotels for us, way to rich for our blood then). Cannon ball jumping in the outdoor, non-heated pool as soon as we were out of the car no matter what the weather. But nothing topped the euphoria of the first morning entrance into the Magic Kingdom. Absolute bliss. And my youngest brother squeaking “Winnie World! Winnie World!” with increasing volume, frequency and pitch (squeakiness?). He was about three at the time we started these trips and never let him live it down. He also wasn’t in a car seat and was rarely seat belted in, I guess we were living dangerously. Oh wait, it was very early 80's, we weren’t required to be belted in yet, were we?

To me it was home. My home. And my inheritance, because for the longest time I thought my grandfather was Walt Disney. No kidding, I thought Grandpa was THE Walt Disney. I have the pictures to prove how much they looked alike. So I really thought that Disney World was my home. And future.

We never had plans for the parks (as far as I can remember) we just went with the flow. Start in Tomorrowland every time and circle our way around the park. I have memories of us from so many different trips in each area of the park. The best of course was when we would end our night on main street and watch the parade and fire works. I have read somewhere here from some great authors how they cry when the entered the parks. Not me. Always when I left, even if it was just the first day. I would cry because I was so happy and to me a day in Disney was a day in heaven. It didn’t matter if we kids fought with each other, or got in trouble with mom or with our aunt. It was all forgotten by evening. Because then we only remembered the good times that we spent with each other.

Anyway, once my daughter was born, I knew that I wanted to, no needed to bring her to Disney to experience the magic, and visit Great Grandpa of course. And without a doubt, Grandma had to be there for Emily’s first taste of Disney. On our five day trip we may have made it onto ten rides, but that didn’t matter. We experienced a part of Disney that we hadn’t really felt before. The slower pace of Disney with a baby. We had the opportunity to take in the quiet areas and really savor each moment. Emily was 16 months old on that first trip. She was a very good baby and loved to people watch. We all enjoyed that trip very much.

I have a few pictures to post from that trip.

This is really my favorite photo, the magic of meeting your hero. Pooh was Emily's favorite movie and toy and bedtime book at that time in her life.

Proof that we were maelstroming way back in 97 and enjoying the wait for the Norway movie

You know you are truly loved here when we make you puke on your keyboard, puke in your desk or air vent. Pee in your adult size diapers. OR Scare the beejeezus out of you. Wait till Grammy gets back from her estate, she's a hoot and a holler !!!! :lmao: :lmao:

Welcome to the freakfest!!! :teeth:

LaaaaaaaaaLaaaaaaaaaa!!!!! Thanks for attempting to get me a new keyboard. Looks like that lady never had a chance with ZZUB. He's such a keyboard HOG !

Sorry I missed chat last nite. I had intended to go but stayed out a little too late. hooP and I went to a new place. The guy that owns our favorite pub just opened up a new place, so we just haaaad to go try it out! Well! It was nuts. Crowded, loud, and college kids everywhere! It was 2 floors of wall to wall people. It took us 25 minutes to get a drink from the bar and WE KNEW the bartenders! Oi !

They had a pool table, air hockey table and this huge triva game that you sit at. It was like being on Millionaire minus Regis Philbin or Meredith Veira!

Tons of other games to play too and get this....little tickets come out like at Chuckie Cheese!!! I kid you not. When it was all said and done I got a lovely plastic ball keychain and a plastic slinky with a smiley face on it!! Good Times. I also got a major hangover, no tickets needed for that! :lmao:

LLK....hooP (Dh) got mistaken for one of the Soprano actors. He was getting a sandwich in Newark, NJ where he worked and they asked him if he was filming today! He just played along and said No, no filming today. :rotfl2:
My SIL lives fairly close to Bada Bings. Remember when Tony had a horse? The place he used to keep his horse at was 2 blocks from my house! We used to live right near there in Jersey. It was the equestrian center in Bergen County.

I gotta go get some work done. We've got friends coming over tonight.

I'll try and stop by later.

Later Gators!!!
:smokin: That's for Tink!!
Miss you Grammy!!!!

What happened to Pongo's Andy? Gosh!

Can somebody hook me up with a link to Mark's story? I missed it, but it sounds like a good one.

Hi, LLK! That IS where I've seen you before. I should've known that, since there and here are pretty much the only places I go anymore.

Looks like vettechick has promised to have another chapter up soon. :yay:

Horsey, just pull a Grammy and put out the bowl of Pine Sol to make it smell like you cleaned.

Back later, all, gotta zip over to Portsmouth for a wee bit.

Oh Perdi girl wif da Wedding Dress pickup!!! :cool1: We're getting close girlie!!!

umm on that note...sometimes being an almost step mom(who was raised in the South where a noise from your mouth while eating at the table meant you were done eating) mixed with being a social worker with special needs kids can be a tough thing...like when the soon to be step kids are talking back to their dad...or chewing with their mouths open...making noise with ones food while it is in one's mouth is not acceptable...they know this...I tell them this often...it's grosses MissKaty out...makes her want to hurt something...but sometimes they will get that evil little glint in their eyes and see if they can get away with it...like when DAddy is at the table eating his food and having ADD and they are just smacking up a storm and I can HEAR them from the Disboards...but daddy is NOT paying attention b/c he just doesn't hear it and he has ADD...the social worker in me wants to come down like a ton of bricks b/c they KNOW BETTER ,start banishing people to time out and a loss of marbles (our currency for appropriate behaviors) ,b/c I don't let anyone get away with that garbage at work cuz if you do they will walk all over you...the soon to be step mom part of me wants to let daddy handle it and not be an uber WITCH...but oh how I struggle...we are talking massive internal battle...where is my xanax?

how's everybody's Saturday going? :)

Hi all - been a while since I checked in!

Hope everyone has an awesome Mother's Day and great weekend!! We're leaving Tuesday for WDW - I'll be sure and ride Maelstromer!! ;)

Paslea Pooh...I do feel loved...such a warm fuzzy feeling to have flashbacks throughout the day of that evil nasty **** picture!!! :rotfl:

Do you still live in jersey?! I LOVED it when Tony had his horse...riding it all in that huge **** house in North Caldwell...my DF's ex's uncle...did you get all that...lives across the street from Tony's pad...uncle Bunny... It seems when you are rich you can actually tell people to call you Bunny and still live across the street from Tony Soprano and NOT get your **** kicked for being a guy wit a name like BUNNY! :rotfl:

going to the mall today...such a Jersey pastime...need to find some "wedding" stuff...kids are with us...lord help me... ;) Thank Goodness for St.Bloomingdales and the calm that restored within it's doors!!! :woohoo:

later dahlins... princess: :wizard:

Hey, Lilygator. Long time no see. Have a blast at the World and get a fastpass at Maelstrom for us!!

I'm heading out soon to go back to my computer-less home. Just wanted to say....

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!

to all my mommy (and stepmommy) friends. :grouphug:

Oh, and Mark, Lou, Ed, Chappie, ZZUB, Master G, and any of the other guys I forgot......make sure to treat your wonderful wives to a special, relaxing, treated-like-a-queen day. 'Course, I know that you will, because you're all sweeties. I can tell :teeth:

See you on Monday..............LYMI

Kim, Andy had his Black Belt karate test yesterday, so some of his injuries were self inflicted ;)

......intruder alert, intruder alert,.....ok it's just me! but i do
look a lil' terroristic in the morning.

i had to asked people @ work bout all these clowns. that one
needs a dentist..maybe that explained why he so grumpy lookin?
i think it probably has something to do with his diet...rotting his
teeth? i'll bet loubon could fix'em right up!

all i could imagine?....so that's what happens to women going too
long without a chocolate fix! [i went out and bought some more and
stuck it under my wife's side of the bed]. too scary....

nightmares!!! it's funny when you never had a real experience but
it's awhole different story when someone..with mental issues..are
targeting you...everytime i see the lil voodoo doll [pins & all]...is
very creepy too me. worst..she really believes she was a witch!!
ha, she had the looks down pat...[for real!]....leaving lil paper dolls
forme to find...and many of my coworkers warning me she really
went crazy...after my became pregnant with jordan. just saying..
i for one, won't miss these clowns stories or voodoo dolls...

one interesting thing was chosing names for our children...our lil'
terror was destined, i guess....when my wife was a lil girl, she always
dreamed of havin a lil  named patrick chrisopther..howver, in
my family..patrick piatt [mother's maiden name/how cool was that?]
was the ..hemp..ornery one> i tried to warned her but nooooooooo.
but we did used our tradition of sneaking in "our" family history
[famous] names in their sur names. pooooor jor"dan".....and no luck
in refering to her middle name..which is also a boy name? however,
she came awful close having lahoma as her first name...or juantia.
any of you have "names" stories to tell? my baby brother...is derrick
glenn..which explained why he drank kersome when was baby..but
while in the hospital..he dumnped his oatmeal on top of hishead..
my mother just happpened to caught thenurse acussin...whil my
oldest was named michael...garland! he always wanted to be the only
child..but you think after the4/5th he give that dreamup? wheee, it
asclose..as my mother wads planning no more right before me..therfore,
he got stuck with elbridge alfred the second..later adopting junebug
[wouldn't you?].....then jb...noooooo carchick not etoh intended!
and i was the middle one.

lil..em''smom..your lil disney story issooo special! happiness is lookin
back and finding the joys of sharing...."we" would nebver make it
to disneyland..not with 7 brothers in one car..sooo you can appricate
my mother..one of my oldest bro :rolleyes1 ,, had made a "trapped"
door under our 56 chevy floor board. why?? going down the road hanging
things out bouncing off the pavement..my father never did figured where
soem of these noises were coming from....but tha car i loved the most
was a olsmobile "holiday" model..that'sthing was like a tank!

my mother day story is for honoring our one & only melons girl.....by the
way,you missed an earlier reference i made too you..dwats, pay more
attention! but as you will read..your not the first mother using her..
God given endorsments for promoting/compensating! ..one time that i can
recall with vivid memories was when our brood were all watchin cartoons
on a saturday morning [the only day back then]....and our lil dear mother
kept "squirtin" us like in a water gun..however, it wasn't no water cannon
she was using..and for a long time us kids couldn't figure her out! let
just say she was watchin too as she was breast feeding..yep that's my
mother.. one lil firecracker! [ never foreget the time she woke the oldest
by throwing a lite one betweenthe bed. they got up that morning in a
flash!]

nor do i want to forget the rest of ya mothers...tommorrow, i'm taking
both my girls on a fishin trip..but i like to share the lil story my wife told
me when she & jordan pick up afishin pole....i guess the lady in front
of the check out asked jordan what type of fish she was going to catch?
without blinking an eye, she told her.."fish sticks"! my wife burst into
tears laughing but i guess thelady just looked puzzled.....goota to say
it's real fun/funny listening to you'll motherhood adventures. what we
guys should do is gather them all up & put them under abook..we'all be
rich!

once i was in art class.. and the professor informed us at the begin that
art was too big to have a single defintion? of course, me being me, had
to raised my hand...i told him i felt art was based on human feelings and
that actually it is quite easy to described by using that approach. so he
asked how's that? ...well isn't art the ways mankind decorated his world?
he walked away and finally turned back,,,and said ..that's the best
definition he ever heard. so where my"a" ???..noooo he got to test my
abilites! well , like i tried to explained to him, some us are just as important
being appricators....right?? look at loubon :magnify:..ok enough butt crack.
but i enjoy his artistic "forms" to the hilt!! and our lil missy melan-choly
[oh,boy-oh,girl..you are in soo many diferent ways].....i happened to know
that majority of us guys considered a melons display as our favorite art
subjects too! it is so obvious that you just don't throw 'em out there
without careful plannin........i can only imagine the things you're
teachin will last a lifetime! yahooooooo :dog2: [see i 'm the one student
paying attention]! from just readin here....if you asked me to described
the difference between you and the other sooo call "play"boy bunnies?
while the packagin is the same..you're like the solid chocolate bunny
versus the hallow ones that i used toget on easter morning! dwats!
you know the difference?

okk since it is mother days .....[tommorrow].. i will share one of my
favorites pretaining to my wifeypoo...[ i'm really been forbidden to
include her..she very shy]...on thefirst one..when she only
pregnant with our first..she got mea card....of 2 dinosaurs with a
heart...inside she wrote .."collected any earthworms lately?" [ isn't
it a lil more than ironic..some 23 yearslater...my daughter insistin
we go fishin on this day?/].....why did she write this??? becos in her
first triamester..she kept having a dream where we were dinosaurs
and she kept sending me out for earthworms for the lil one!! what
were the chances of a card havin such a reference? so did any
of you had similar dreams??? well,didya..spilled them out!!!..while
i 'll get my bid!!! oh, this beleive it or not is my only poopie story..
why?? on the enevlop she wrote to my one & only poopsie..now after
all these years..iget it!! thanks, i think.

ohhH,, i think either way Zzub you're ok..just give her both...at least
you didn't pick up a kiss doll...the one with his tongue hangin out
saying hint,hint..oh, boy that was a bust :rolleyes1

ok loubon..fess up your the one?! ..responsible for lil :clown:
guy, huh?

oh,boy :earsboy: and oh, girl :earsgirl:  ..new people really
add..... :rainbow: to the meal-stromers..welcome, ! p.s. the lil
grumpy poem was done by an imposter, really nothin like that! :moped:

i'm so surprise none of you are posting on the bizzard traditions
thread? what's up with that?

as always, go in :hippie: ...happy mother day, every day!
